I've been offered a 64gb iPad from the U.S for £465.25, and that includes delivery, However Im thinking about upgrading delivery, Does anyone know a descent delivery service thats quick and overly pricey?
Is that the one jetjaguar has on the Marketplace? I'm tempted myself.

This question will probably get blasted by someone for being sad, but this thread is making the wait almost enjoyable (almost :p), so I'll ask it anyway.

After you've had your iPad for a week, how do you think it's various uses will break down in terms of the time you've spent on each thing?

Personally, I've been holding back on a *lot* of books since the iPad was revealed in January, so I think a good half of my first week on it will be spent reading. I'm also thinking that a good chunk of my email time will switch to the iPad, with most of my quick and casual emails being done on it.

And, of course, downloading and playing around with all the new apps will take up a big chunk too! (I feel some game playing coming on)

Chill out mate the other guy has been on here longer than you and has seem to have alot of forum history :p , This forum isnt really like the other forums we have all been glued to our pcs refreshing the apple store and sharing our frustrations so in a kind of way we have gotten to know the other users and from time to time tend to drift away from the topic subject just because we have hee haw to speculate about .

So ......did anyone think the ending of Flashforward was a total "WTF" moment :D

Just cause he been on this forum longer than me doesnt me he knows better. It means he SHOULD know better than doing that in a forum as you shouldnt try and turn topics into off topic subjects. For him to mention can we not mention ipad for a moment in the ipad section seems realy stupid of him. Talking about random stuff makes a thread cluttered and harder for someone to read through while staying on topic. Someone wont open this thread looking for something about flashforward or sky tv. I dont like when forums threads get all cluttered with people doing this kind of thing. Its just ignorant and they have no right reason to post these such things in that threads.

I watched in Thursday, and I was truly horrified with Janis - told you you'd be surprised a couple of pages ago ;)

Hmm... watching the whole of Flashforward on the iPad will be a treat though. The series might have ended before it's released, potentially - though I doubt it, there's about 6 episodes left.

Very true that somali guy as a politician looked like it would of been a right good laugh he had a bloomin scar going across half his face lol

To be fair though, telling people to "shut up" isn't on either, and could be deemed as ignorant too.

I bought a Sony Reader earlier this year. Very nice, I love the Eink etc. but for handling general PDF's and other text books, particularly technical ones it's total rubbish. That was one of the main things I bought it for. The idea was to put all my reference and text book, operating manuals etc onto. It never really happened. I can see the iPad doing that job very well.

I am out and about a lot. I keep up with email, twitter websites etc. For that I use the iPhone. The iPhone is great but I need something a bit bigger to sit and browse while having a pint. I did try using an Asus Eee occasionally. I managed to get OSX running on it even. But it's still a bit like sitting with a laptop. So yes, it will be used on a daily basis for that sort of thing too. I can't see it ending up like the popcorn maker in the kitchen. Used once or twice then thrown in a cupboard and forgotten about.

End of the day mate we know nothing yet !!!!!!!

Ok apart from a few folk saying yeah i got a ipad from ebay thats about it so to talk about other things every now and then is acceptable . He obviously does know better and can someone who just came into the thread not go back a page or two . You are trying to make it seem as if we have totally ramsacked this thread with offtopic talk.

Really man you need to wake up and smell the coffee there is no news and if there is it will be posted on here within probally 120 secs of it being released to the public so dont worry about that, I rather have a chat with a fellow brit about something off topic rather than coming on here every few hours moaning and complaining about how we have nothing as of yet !!!

Why US iTunes?

I just tried to sign up for an account at the US iTunes store, put in a random address and was told that I would be sent an email for verification. This was like 20 minutes ago and no email. I thought these type of emails were automatic, but clearly not - I hope I haven't messed things up for myself! :(

ETA: Just realised that you must provide some form of valid payment. Evidently Apple have revised their previously relaxed policies here..

Hmmm

Hi Elise,
I got my account on Friday-I used a different email a/c, gave my address as Walmart Miami-you don't need the FL in front of the zip code, ignored the credit card stuff & just entered the $ voucher code I bought from eBay. It all worked perfectly.
When I got my eBay 64GB iPad on Sat I just synced it with the US a/c & everything OK. I did the sync from the backup of my iPhone so got all the apps from that-some are OK others not. When I tried to update my uk apps from the iPad it said the app store was not available BUT when I re-synched to iTunes US no probs with the app store on the iPad.
I'm rambling! Hope some of this helps...

Nope. He is not a new member so has no excuse on why he is not posting in a correct manner. Lucky I just said shut it. ¬_¬

On topic: Another day of no news at all. Maybe they could do a count down to the release of the announcement of the date anouncement.

Yeah im kind of like you i use my itouch 1G (im old skool that way ) for social networking and then i use my sony reader for ebooks but to be fair i havent read that many books but it really is great to read books in the sun , but i think the ipad will be good for reading books in the dark obviously

Disregard what I said about Janis, you'll see tonight.

Shall we try to redact the thread to only include posts 100% relevant to "iPad UK news"? You will see a significant drop in posts.

Apply the same to other threads, you will see a complete drop in post count. One of the threads in the above fora has turned into a sort of philosophical debate, nothing of which has to do with the main topic at hand. You could say let the thread run its course. You are less likely to post in a dead topic than you are in which is lively, albeit pertinent to the topic or not. I have been on this forum long enough to know that talking about how Apple should moderate the App Store can easily turn into a discussion about food. These little booms of "impertinent content" slowly brings back the point of the topic.

So you are saying alot of members spam this whole forums? Since you are saying the whole forum basicly lives on posts being in the wrong threads.

I wouldn't use the word spam. Spam is where all the posts are unsolicited. It is the natural cause within the thread.

I think the issue is done now, eh guys?

Let's try and get back to our wild speculation and "iPad UK news: General Chat" shall we? :)

I concur.

He is basically saying people can expand on topic discussion and then go down different paths of discussion .

I think you are trying to twist his words by saying he thinks everyone on here are spammers .

Can we not all get along , you really are dragging it on . End of the day we all love the ipad and want one or want to have one but since this about the UK and all the info we know or have been told is already posted so thereforing duplicating posts each day would break forum rules and come under spamming or boosting post count . So hence we speak off topic every now and then

Yeah and therein lies the difference, I didn't use a voucher, I just tried to sign up - lol! I'll order one from ebay and see what happens. Thanks :)

To be honest I really appreciate the casual approach this forum takes, especially this thread. It makes it a lot easier to express opinions and generate different ideas. I have been in forums that are totally opposite. Run by the letter of the law. One false word and at least a 24hr ban. You have to watch every word you say. If in doubt don't say it. Not nice.

I don't think a slight diversion for a few postings does any harm. On the contrary, it can stimulate dialog and new ideas. Plus it keeps the thread popular and doesnt end up out of sight. In a popular forum thats easily done.

Ooops I am talking off topic.
