I think what the complainer needs to realise is that this thread has become a conversation amongst, but not exclusive to, a large group of people who have come to 'know' one another over the course of it's almost 2000 posts.

I've been reading (tho hardly posted) since this thread started and the occasional meanderings 'off topic' keep the whole thing sane.

I for one would certainly complain if these forums went down a stalinist route of absolute strict ' on topic' posting only.

Keep it real.

btw ..........anyone want an iPad..........I hear Apple have some to sell..........they just don't know when! lol :)

Yeah and therein lies the difference, I didn't use a voucher, I just tried to sign up - lol! I'll order one from ebay and see what happens. Thanks :)

You wont have any problems with the gift card. Just make sure you use a different email address from your UK account.

Buckled !!

Just got the 16gb from UK seller (ebay) for £480 inc RMSD.

Didn't seem like a bad price for a UK based one, hopefully have it on Wed.

Good luck to all those waiting on apple announcement, you've got more patience than me :)

If anyone is interested he's got 5 left ;)

Drew

Random post,

Sky HD was great with my Bose system-now use Humax HD with iPlayer that's better & free.
For Kris, I use my iPad for checking mail, free book app, BBC, Guardian apps & checking out iBooks. It's hardly been out of someone's hands.
Disappointed that you can't use iPlayer from the beeb yet as you can on the iPhone & the iBook doesn't have a read to me function like the kindle does-the voice over is rubbish for books. Otherwise it's great fun...

Not a bad price from UK seller. For anyone that is interested there appears to be a decent listing from a seller in the US:

Guys got good feedback and offers free delivery to the UK - cheapest I have seen thus far.

Seems the cost of the MIFI has come down now, is £49.99 plus data allowance form £10.

I can't remember how much I paid. I got mine at PC World as did my son and my wife got one too. They did one with no credit on it and the one I got with three months on it to start you off. It worked out cheaper for me. I use it with iPhone and MBP. They also sold one on contract. Ok I would get a free mifi but would be stuck paying on a contract for a couple of years. If anyone wants to know what its like and how it works. Let me know.

So you are saying alot of members spam this whole forums? Since you are saying the whole forum basicly lives on posts being in the wrong threads.

Oh for Christ's sake, give it a rest!

If you don't like off-topic posting on a thread that has pretty much embraced it, either put up with it or look elsewhere.

Blasphemy! You're going to get in trouble!:p

I see a lot of American folks talking about how freely available WiFi is. Do you guys experience this - freely available Wifi? I mean whenever I try and log on people always use a secure their connection with a password (as they should of course) so I can't get access this way even if I wanted to!

Anyone watch "the gadget show" just now on five?
-iPad review in next weeks show!

Oh, and Suzi Perry wore her skintight catsuit again :p rrrrrrrrr

wonder if they've been in touch with Apple to time the review? I'd have thought Jason would have been over in the US for the launch and had his by now

This is the reason I'm getting 3G I think. There's certainly no 3G at work or many of the other places I go when I leave my house.. and I have no intention of buying an iPad JUST to stay home.

I also don't want to be that guy lounging around in Starbucks with an overpriced latte and an iPad/Laptop/whatever.. *shudders*

Seen in the Newspaper at the weekend

I apologise if someone else has already spotted this and posted it, but I saw in a National newspaper at the weekend that they quoted that the new ipad would be in stores across the UK from £398 from 24th April. They quoted a firm price and a firm date. Don't know where they got their info from. I found something online stating that Apple will not be making any announcements in the UK until the day of sale which is interesting and looking very likely now!! Sorry to disappoint all of you counting down to when they announce. Maybe just turn up instore on 24th?! Seems a bit odd though hey?

That's an interesting point, they've "timed" their reviews well before (not necessarily Apple, but other stuff" -at least that's a ray of hope!
I did read somewhere that they had it on show at "gadget show live" too though. Edit: sorry, just realised that Boblister just said this also!

Yep I'm with you. :) Although I know some people are saying they are getting a good service using their iPhones...

All speculation, like all of the other supposed price and date launch reveals. Apple are keeping the info very close to their chest at the mo!

Any idea which newspaper? I find this highly improbable, but if it is then I'm screwed. I could never wing it to an Apple Store that day, I live 100 miles away :(
