Still couldn't see availability on Apple's site and my closest store wasn't picking up the phone to see if they had them yet. Saw that a Best Buy on my way to work had them and their discount plus a coupon bested my education discount so I went with that for my 64GB SG.

Just set my iPad mini 5 up, golly, I forgot how much I loved that size and weight. I couldn’t see any major screen problems (just a little more lightbleed on the bottom left corner) but that’s normal with Apple’s original Retina Displays, every iPad except the new Liquid Retina Pros had some lightbleed somewhere. *Also, it’s only noticed barely when I test the screen with a pitch black image, no bleed can be seen with regular white or bright backgrounds. *knock on wood it stays that way.

those who came from ipad mini 4 ... are there any difference on the colors of the display? because when i look at the youtube reviews colors looks more vibrant on the ipad mini 5 ...

Did anyone else order through Verizon? It says I won’t receive my mini until April 8th but it just changed to processing. Any chance it comes sooner?

I don't have a mini 5 but it definitely has more vibrant colors than the mini 4 due to the new P3 display. Several reviews on Youtube also pointed out that colors "pop" more on the 5 vs the 4.

It is more vibrant and more accurate to life as the display is a DCI P3 display that allows many more colors than the iPad Mini 4. The 4 was good but not even close to the mini 5 in color accuracy and the amount of colors that can be used and displayed.

Did anyone else who ordered through Verizon get their order shipped extremely early? My estimated arrival date was 04/08 and I woke up this morning to find out it’s shipped and I’ll receive it Friday!

I had the Mini 1, 2 and 4. Loving the form factor! A big iPhone doesn't give the same comfort and I find bigger iPads a bit unwieldy. The 5 has everything I wanted except it doesn't have four speakers. Thanks to AirPods this isn't too bad.
Wondering if there's 'tap to wake' on the iPad Mini 5...

I ordered through AT&T, with a delivery date of 3/27 to 4-2 (tired of these "estimate" ranges, even Apple won't tell us exactly when) and I'm still "in progress" :(

Picked my Mini 5 up at Best Buy last night. I am coming from the Mini 2, so the new display is much nicer! My photos look really nice. I also enjoy having the touchID - no more typing passcodes. The Mini 2 was so slow at everything - 'twas definitely overdue for an upgrade :) Now I just have to find a decent case for it.

Could you check if it has 'tap to wake' like the iPad Pro's? Or is this a FaceID only feature. Since owning iPhone X and iPad 11" I'm constantly tapping the screen of my Mini 4 with no effect

I ordered through Verizon on the 22nd and it still says order is processing check again later. It's said this since I ordered. My ship by date is/was April 8th.

I think only devices that don't have a home button get that.

I didn't realize (until just now) that Verizon is offering $150 off the cellular model with free device payments. I went ahead and ordered with them and it will be here tomorrow. I will pay it off asap. Great deal getting the 64GB cellular for the price of the WiFI model.

Do you have to maintain a contract for a certain period of time?

Ordered the SG 256 LTE from amazon Thursday and finally got an update for delivery date (Monday).
If only it would arrive earlier like Friday or Saturday .
Definitely anxious to get my hands on it.

No, you do not. The device payment plan is for 24 months and you can pay it off early at any time. Same kind of payment plan as their phone plan, for those who do that. I will pay it off after a month.

I already have service with Verizon. The cost for unlimited iPad is $20 a month plus tax, tag and title.

Read the fineprint. Looks to me you lose the credit if you payoff the device immediately.

$150 instant discount off retail price of iPad w/ device payment purchase. $250 promo credit ($150+$100) requires both iPad and iPhone purchase on device payment; $250 promo credit applied to account over 24 mos. w/in 1-2 cycles; promo credit ends if eligibility requirements are no longer met; 0% APR.
