iPad order shipped earlier than expected.

Mine arrived at the Memphis hub at 5:31am today. When I first ordered on May 29th Apple said it will be shipped June 15th and delivered June 18th, now according to Apple it will be delivered June 15th and Fedex June 16th, I am sure Fedex is more accurate. But still I am keeping my fingers crossed for it to be delivered tomorrow, can't wait 
So my wife wanted to go to a mall about an hour away. I was all like...I don't know. Then I said let me call the apple store...Low and Behold they have 16gb wi-fi, and 32 and 64 gb wi-fi + 3g in stock...I bought the 32gb wi-fi + 3g...and I have it!!!

i gotta stop reading this thread ! everytime i see someone with a 3g ipad makes me wanna go out and get one!!!
I think what is most interesting is all the posts of people finding them in local stores. Maybe it's my location (near Kansas City), but neither of the Apple stores or the 6 Best Buys have had a single one in stock for almost four weeks! I got tired of calling everyday, hence why I went ahead and ordered online.

26 May - ordered, given 15 June delivery date
5 Jun - shipment notification with 8 June delivery date
6 Jun - left China
7 Jun - left HongKong
9 Jun - released from Anchorage AK, flies to Newark NJ
10 Jun - left Newark NJ for local shipping depot, gets misdirected.
10 Jun - four hours later it arrives in Dallas TX (!!) I call FedEx.
11 Jun - arrives back in Newark NJ and out for delivery
I'm waiting at home on 11 June. FedEx doesn't even knock on my door, but just leaves a note that I discover a half hour later. So I end up having to drive down at 5PM and pick it up. Grrr.

Darn Lantau Island, HK!
Mine has been sitting in Lantau Island, HK for almost 24 hours. In fact it's been in the Shenzhen/Lantau area for the last two days --- doing absolutely nothing and furthermore FedEx can provide absolutely no other information on this package. I will be happy once its in Alaska, AT THE VERY LEAST! I've read some people's comments that their iPad had sat in Lantau for various reasons anywhere from 4 days to a week! I am just hoping this does not happen with my package.
It did ship sooner than expected... but has yet to get out of Shenzhen, CH / Lantau Island, HK, CH area. (Granted IT IS Sunday)

your ipad may be with mine! lol. mines in lantau island as well. and as for the time thing. remember they are ahead of us! they are 12 hours ahead of EST. so for me they are exactly halfway round the world.
Where is your package headed? Does your FedEx tracking info read the same? lol

mines coming to CT. and left China a little earlier but still checked into HK at the same time as you.
I live near the Leawood, KS Apple store, got on the reservation list for a 16GB wifi + 3G on June 4th and June 7th they emailed me saying it had arrived.
They are getting them in, and they had all wifi models in stock.
On June 4th I had also called the two Best Buys out here( 95th and Quivera ) and one had a 64GB wifi + 3g.
Just got my shipment tracking number so I figured I'd join you guys with all of the suspense

Update: mine has arrived in anchorage no more than 20 minutes ago.
everyone should keep in mind that all the times shown on fedex tracking are those of the location they are in. not the time of where you are having it shipped to.

I sure hope so but now I have a feeling it won't be delivered till wednesday as fedex had originally said

Pretty lucky. Mine is still somewhere in Asia. Only thing FedEx can confirm is that it PROBABLY left Hong Kong.
yeah....thing is main reason why i ordered it online is because i was able to utilize billmelater. i'll have the money. but just didnt have it immediately and hence wanting to order ASAP lol.
Yeah, I'm thinking I should have waited a bit longer and then ordered at the Leawood store. The last time I was there (around 25 May) they said people actually seemed to be getting them earlier by ordering them online rather than in the store. Hence my order on 27 May
Looks like mine is still sitting in Schenzhen - now at 96 hours. Interestingly, the expected arrival date still shows "before 12:00 on Wednesday." I wonder if this only updates when the shipment actually moves? Anyone know? I would call, but based on the other posts it doesn't sounds like I would get very far.
