I agree with you - no one is in KY yet. But, I have no notes from KY.

There may be notes from KY, but like they said - unless it says Arrival Scan or Sort Scan, than it isn't probably there. Customs clearance can happen as the package moves within the UPS system, and all of those dispatch messages will show origination from KY and the WorldPort center for UPS.

ALSO realize that these UPS flights from Anchorage have not yet reached KSDF (Kentucky):
UPS81
UPS71
UPS63
UPS109

They are all enroute, and are estimated to arrive sometime between 12-1:30 AM EST. So sometime after then is when I would expect more info.

Precisely. Actually, your current status reflects that - as they couldn't clear customs with the info it had. Thats why your status may not have your destination info or anything. However, that may also mean they are moving it to a holding area or something before they finish customs and reinject it into the UPS system for distribution to local sort facilities.

I think some people tried that last year and Apple would not authorize the pickup.

Exactly. I understand people are excited, but they don't even have anything WRONG with their orders and they are calling UPS and Apple like they do. I feel bad for the phone reps, lol. People need to wait until it says there is a problem, then call. Until then, share your excitement here :)

I am starting to think the "Brokerage released shipment" status means that the package has left PANC (Alaska). As 1:01 Alaska = 5:01 EST, when it arrived. Then the next message may mean that it has cleared customs in AK, and has departed for KSDF (for this one, UPS71 departed PANC at 7:32 EST (3:32 KY time, where the brokerage message originated because it came through their headquarters servers.)) - so it may have cleared while enroute to KSDF?

So Let us wait until about 1 AM and see if people get arrived in KY updates.

And an exception isn't a problem. Unless something keeps the iPad from arriving on Saturday, it should be an issue, and from what we've seen so far, nobody knows if anything is affecting that at all.

The other part is that the phone reps don't have a clue about Apple requesting holds on the deliveries so they won't factor that in.

So my order shipped and the tracking number Apple gave me is not working with UPS on the phone and there site. Is anyone else having this issue?

PLUS! Holds cant be issued (through WorldShip or WorldEase) until an international shipment has cleared customs. After that a hold can be placed for either hold at Depot, or hold at a sort facility locally. I think that Apple is doing the former. As holding back customs documents to keep the shipments from going out is immoral, and I think possibly illegal... so we will see.

Yes, it means they haven't handed off the billing information to UPS yet. It should be in their system by tomorrow.

When did you receive the tracking number? What date and time (with time zone)

I got the email at 1AM Central time today.

Okay, I wouldn't worry about it. Mine got the number at about the same time, and mine has shown as "In Transit" and an origin scan in Shenzhen. But nothing else. No billing info or anything. So one of two things:

The shipping info is WAY behind and my package could by on its way to AK or KY.

OR

They are being sent out on the next flight.

Either way, I wouldn't worry too much for right now. UPS and Apple have a LOT going through their systems and people so it may take a while for it to update. When I preordered my iPod Touch (when it first came out) the same thing happened to me, then I found a few people who had similar info and we were off to the races :)

Driving me nuts!

It still says about the brokerage thing in louisville Kentucky.. Has it left? That is all it said...

go to www.iship.com, click trackit, enter your tracking number, and paste here the last 4 things on the status.

Most likely it has NOT gotten to KY, as NO UPS flights have arrived in KY yet from PANC, Anchorage.

Quoted both for truth. People need to realize they're wasting their time, the CSRs' time, and probably getting an incorrect answer, because no huge company considers it a priority to keep their front-end telephone support in the loop on every single unusual situation that occurs. Leave the CSRs alone to answer questions they're equipped to answer.

Your iPad is in AK and not KY.

Yea, your iPad is currently either enroute to KSDF or is sitting in Alaska.

Those holds and messages from KY were received WHILE the iPad Shipment was enroute to AK. So for whatever reason the customs clearance must have happened either with incorrect times or as the shipment arrived.

Either way it is definitely not in KY, as it did not have a departure scan from AK after that 1:01PM local time in AK, as well as no arrival scan (yet) in KY.

Look to one of my previous posts for a link to track flights from PANC to KSDF. They may or may not be carrying some of these shipments, as the times aren't easy to correlate.

Yeah, I know that. I was answering the other guy's question.

haha amen to that! Apple guaranteed delivery. It will get there. otherwise, on Saturday or Friday when there is a error with your shipment, then cry to Apple and probably wait a while for an answer as UPS will be swamped with weekend deliveries and other people calling about similar concerns or issues.

Oh wait, other people?! But those people don't have an important question! Oh wait, they are just worried about which driver they will get...

Haha I would prolly worry about that to (I admit :p) but at least I don't waste other people's important time trying to call and ask that sort of stuff.

Even right now the international shipment tracking queue is up to an average 7 minute wait time and has American workers helping to backup the overseas call center in handling calls (Most likely because of the iPads and because there were 2 flights from England that just got delayed at customs... I know because I have a family member who works there :) OH and I also have a family member who works at Apple's iphone support (tier 1) :D)
