iPad shipped, Apple just sent out tracking numbers!

What the heck is internal activity:

YEA!!!! Haha, see, remember earlier how if you "pretended" to ship a package for China (like UPS agents have been doing to give customers estimates on delivery times?) That if shipped earlier today, it would get to the delivery address by THURSDAY. Now, assuming they do it tomorrow morning? It would "technically" get here by FRIDAY! And what about Thursday? With Saturday delivery it would get to your house on SATURDAY! Even if Apple botched one of those days up, with overnight express international they could send it FRIDAY and have it to your house on time.

What I am trying to say is, while it may sound crazy to you (trust me, it was hard for me to say that lol) there is really no need to worry.

Apple (as I have said 8x times today) has their OWN orders for retail and bestbuys to fulfill. So those iPads have to go out ALONG with ours! So no EVERYONE is getting theirs sent out at once. #1 It would clog up UPS's system and leave iPads stranded at the loading dock in Shenzhen, and #2 Apple is fulfilling their own orders at the same time (seemingly by staggering them).

NOW! To everyone in the "prepared for shipment status" - LISTEN UP! Everyone has gotten their emails overnight between 1AM and 5AM ET (about 1-5PM Hong Kong time). Remember there is a time difference. And that was the night(here) before the shipped. So for me, mine shipped (today, but it was reallly yesterday evening) and I didn't get an email until 5 Am this morning! However I knew it had updated.

Other people also got their emails during the night theirs shipped. Because right now those factories are actually going to lunch or whatever Chinese workers are allowed to do, and so they are half way through the day while we sit here and track our iPads.

IN SHORT - IF IT IS PREPARED APPLE IS SHIPPING IT! If it wasn't prepared, then I would have a huge fuss and would be calling now. But Apple will tell you the SAME THING if you call them now or even tomorrow - IT IS PREPARED - GUARANTEED BY 4/3! (or 4/5 for non-sat. del. areas).

So please try to get over that worry and try to look forward to receiving it - Apple cares about people who pay $$$ for their stuff, so trust me they will make sure it gets to you on time.

I think you are more or less worried because most of the people on here already have statuses. If you hadn't come here or people didn't post about them, you may not even be calling, thinking Apple is just shipping them closer to the release date, which is (still) 4 days away...

and, updating iTunes to new version that is iPad compatible right now!

Exactly. Sometimes it will actually show up as a QuantumView edit or WorldEase on-call hold, however the request may be more complex than that. Either way internal activity is showing up for you, while on the UPS end they have that AND the backlog of information that goes along with that status, which is an internal transmission for hold of package at the destination sort facility.

However, your package is not at your city yet, or for that matter even in KY, because those 4 UPS flights from Anchorage have yet to land... however they may not even be on those flights. But we will see at about 1 AM :D

I think you're right... the hold in CN was removed, and now I have an exception in Lenexa, KS - which is where my iPad will be delivered from on Saturday. I'd guess that they shipped them out, then held them at CN while they sorted out the local holds. Further, I'd guess that for those of us still in CN, we'll see them roll out of CN tomorrow afternoon/evening and route to our local hubs normally, at which point, they'll be held for delivery on 4/3.

Well after being "Prepared for Shipment" for a long while, I finally received an email 1 hour ago (7pm PST) indicating it's shipped. I'm in the Bay Area, CA. Yay!

...now it's time to obsessively refresh the tracking page

Actually tomorrow morning, EST. Because while it may be 8 AM in New York, it is 8PM in China, and that means that flights will be going out (sometime tomorrow) and more iPads will be pushed into UPS's hot hands so they have to relieve the ones already in their hands as of now (like mine, currently being held by UPS at Shenzhen, most likely already at Guangzhou in the more norhtern part of the province where a lot of people are seeing them be sent out from :) )

Hahaha. Mine has been shipped and has an origin scan as of 8 PM EST last night (8 AM Hong Kong time). So yours might go out with those, or it might go out tomorrow night with another batch.

If your status says "Internal Activity" then it isn't there... and it can't possibly be seen as the flights from Anchorage haven't even landed in Louisville yet!

And sadly you couldn't get it anyways :( Only a few more days!

My tracking number is still listed as invalid, so it's probably just out or heading out shortly. Anyway, I'm excited. I don't usually worry about incoming packages, but this one I know I'll be peeping out my curtains all morning Saturday for.
..Good chance to watch my neighbors too which I haven't done in a while :eek:

Hehehe. So its win-win :)

But yea. I am not OBSESSED with tracking packages, but I believe myself to be VERY knowledgeable on it, of course having family involved with both major carriers and my addiction to Amazon, I know a lot :)

I even personally know my hub manager (her name is Kim) for UPS, as well as the ramp manager at my local airport for FedEx (his name is Kevin).

Haha, so yea. Its always fun and interesting, and save for the people who dont read previous posts, its always fun to collaborate with others on here and get excited like good little fanboys xD

If it says internal activity, it actually means that your local facility has been notified that a hold is being placed on the package. That is why the "brokerage and hold" messages from KY were removed, because it cleared customs and the hold was able to be processed by UPS (they cannot be processed on intl. shipments until they clear customs).

plus again it is impossible because the flights from PANC, Anchorage are scheduled to land within the next hour and a half, meaning (if they are on those flights) they arent even close to your local sort facility yet! Stinks, I wish I had mine right now so baddddd :(
