ALEXANDRIA, VA, US 03/31/2010 9:00 A.M. UPS INTERNAL ACTIVITY
SHENZHEN, CN 03/29/2010 2:21 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN
CN 03/29/2010 10:14 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

^^ See above comments. Internal Activity = Processed hold request (the one made by apple to hold it until saturday). It says internal because thats exactly what it is - a message, not the package itself moving.

Yup! Just got the call from my friend at my sort facility... said mine was awesome! :)

If it says internal activity, it actually means that your local facility has been notified that a hold is being placed on the package. That is why the "brokerage and hold" messages from KY were removed, because it cleared customs and the hold was able to be processed by UPS (they cannot be processed on intl. shipments until they clear customs).

plus again it is impossible because the flights from PANC, Anchorage are scheduled to land within the next hour and a half, meaning (if they are on those flights) they arent even close to your local sort facility yet! Stinks, I wish I had mine right now so baddddd :(

Damn you for telling me that! hahaha Well i hope you are wrong :p

Exciting!

I am intrigued by the internal activity time of 9:00 AM tomorrow morning...

Maybe that is for when the notice will actually take effect (the start of business that day, when it will be processed by that facility)...

Yeah its obviously not there, but it looks like a preemptive hold shipment.

So for those of us that still have the Shenzhen Origin Scan, do you shipping gurus think we're en route to AK yet, or would there be a Departure Scan?

Yea. I am also interested to see nobody has a "departure" scan from Anchorage, saying it is in transit in the (seemingly more than usual) 3-4 flights going there right now.

You mind tracking at www.iship.com and seeing if anything is different? They are more exact (they don't filter things that the UPS site does - it gives raw info from the UPS servers).

Just wondering because occasionally the UPS site won't reflect the Departure SCAN itself, yet the manifest info will have it departing and will show there...

Just interested in seeing :)

Still the same

Haha, well we aren't there (yet). The next seemingly plausible flight going out would be at either 6-8 AM tomorrow(EST) ---- which is 6-8PM in Hong Kong, or 6-8 EST tomorrow night ---- 6-8 AM in Hong Kong on April 1st.

Basically, not yet. But soon young one :)
http://flightaware.com/live/findflight?origin=VHHH&originName=&destination=PANC&destinationName= - Assuming they are coming through Hong Kong.

If through Guangzhou, http://flightaware.com/live/findflight?origin=ZGGG&originName=&destination=PANC&destinationName=

If those previous times in Guangzhou are applicable to future days (because these flights are probably only there BECAUSE of Apple's shipments when they started Monday) then we will see our packages leaving tomorrow AM (eastern time) which is evening of the 31st in Hong Kong.

Haha I love timezones :)

Basically - they will leave China tomorrow and clear customs and probably be to KSDF (Louisville) by tomorrow night or Thursday AM

I just gotta say good job Apple on keeping the packaging size and weight to a minimal! That's awesome.

You know what, all this talk, waiting and anticipation for my iPad to arrive will last a few hours at most after u actually open the box and then i will forget about everything and look for other things to do.. lol
That's how i am usually about products that i get or order and i'm sure i'm not alone on this you feeling me?

I never got a departure scan from Anchorage but I didn't get one when it left GUANGZHOU, CN until the arrival scan came up for Anchorage. So I'll see in the morning.

Oh, haha, that was meant for Kalison .

Lol, cus their progress on UPS's site shows their package in Anchorage. i just want to see if theirs left there at all, which may not show up on UPS sometimes.

Your package is probably pushed back with my shipment and "group" of iPads because mine shipped "today (3/30)" and only shows an origin scan, no Billing Info or Hold Notice. Literally UPS knows NOTHING about my shipment, nothing at all - because no billing info yet. The paperwork must be being held or something until the manifest is complete on Apple's part, or they partially filled it and want to fill more this afternoon.

Haha I love timezones :)

Well, you're definitely doing better with them than I would, and I work at the kind of company where you're always trying to figure it out in your head (for customers and other offices). :)

(Plus trying to coordinate a World of Warcraft raiding guild that spans three continents including Australia, but never mind that.)

Thanks for the info!

Yea, UPS's systems sometimes do that. But again iship.com sometimes does reflect things more correctly than UPS.com unless the info in their servers is also the same way. So we will see.

Shows the same information. No departure from Alaska yet.

Hahahahahahahhahaha :D I love it man!

And yea, you might like this: I am only 16 :)

Hey, as a notice:

We now have some UPS flights landing from PANC, Anchorage!

There are still 2 flights (UPS71 and UPS81) that are both landing at 1:32 AM EST.

There was JUST a IFR flight plan filed for UPS2997, leaving Anchorage at 3:34 AM EST and arriving in KSDF Louisville at 9:30 AM EST.

So if the iPads haven't gone out of PANC by then, some might be catching that flight and subsequent flights that I can't see right now because airlines only file IFR flight plans a few hours out from their scheduled flight.

Woohoo just got my tracking number also.

SHENZHEN, CN 03/30/2010 10:12 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN

Awesome!

Read my above post about "those who have only an origin scan" - it will give you some links and info about how to track the flight your iPad will most likely be on tomorrow!

Mine was scanned only 2 hours before yours, except I got the notice this morning... but ehh. That happens :)

I just had a nightmare where I was with Tom Hanks on a deserted island, and he was using my IPad to open coconuts...

Okay, seriously, what is going to be more, the number of pages of this thread on launch day, or total number of lame "I got my IPad today, April fools!" that will be posted in this forum on Thursday.
