I know man. And when Blu-Ray came out they actually made me buy them all again even though I already had the DVD's. How unfair! NOT.

I don't think Apple screwed us over - you can still use the iPhone apps, just scaled up to iPad size. They wouldn't have built that in if they wanted to screw you.

It is the developer's and your choice to make/buy iPad dedicated/capable apps.

Can you copy it EXACTLY as you see it? Do it from www.iship.com, click on trackit, and enter your tracking #.

Then copy the last few things from your status into the thread here.

Thanks!

You need to go back and watch the Keynote carefully. It was NEVER stated that iPad-optimized applications wouldn't cost additional money. Only that iPhone apps already purchased would work on iPad.

They said that after they previewed the NOVA game. From what I think.

Sadly, no I don't believe so.

However what I can do is have the audio on my iPhone and then use my iPad for flightaware and all of my tracking apps (packagetrackr.com, boxoh.com, iship.com, packagemapping.com, junecloud) hehehe :)

Its like a mobile shipping/tracking platform too!

Lol.

Have you try using http://m.liveatc.net/feeds/?icao=ksdf in Safari and let it play and then switch to Liveaware app? Because I can get music running in Safari at all time while switching to other apps.

Yes, a lot of people are going to be using iPad together with iPhone. Especially the WiFI owners. iPhone with 3G will be the push notification center while iPad can be used to open those application (unless they are not optimized for iPad). I'll be using iPhone as a 3G-WiFi hotspot for the iPad. :) Redneck multitasking!

You misunderstood the keynote and you misunderstood the whole iPhone/iPad thing.

There are going to be three different applications:

1) iPhone only apps, they'll work on iPad but in scaled up mode or 1:1 pixel mode
2) Universal Apps, they'll have two interfaces optimized for both iPhone/iPad, those are usually what devs will use to provide free iPad updates to iPhone apps
3) iPad only apps, will never work on iPhone, only for iPad.

Please ask more questions in a different thread instead of this one if you're still confused.

Hhahahaha!

Yea I have a 3GS, and this is actually my "mother's" (really mine until the 3G comes in) iPad. However "My" iPad is the 3g, and that comes at the mysterious "late April" date.

But yea, I think I have done that before with safari and streams. So long as it isn't video, I think it should continue to play.

But yea, the iPad is getting itself into an interesting niche... but the great thing about it is that there are a lot of ways it can go in terms of where it will "really settle" in terms of how people use it :)

That is odd, but maybe that is what they call it in that department or whatnot - basically it is just one of those "in transit" scans, that can either be a rescan, or a scan that within that facility means it is being routed, or that the information is being read again as it goes through sorting.

Basically it is just a rescan besides the "Origin Scan" at the beginning of its trip at Guangzhou. :)

But have you seen the leaked images for the iPad AppStore? It's like $9.99 for a $.99 app, not joking. But hey, we have to hold it in our hands to find out the actual thing.

What you are thinking about are the leaks of the iBooks store - those are books you are seeing. And the App Store NOW has $9.99 and over apps.

However, as said before - the developers can decide whether to offer free upgrades or not. Look at gizmodo.com or engadget.com to see more.

This really isn't the best thread for this though... you should ask questions in a new or different thread - its an interesting point of view, but not appropriate for the "shipping" theme of this thread.

No, it was the Appstore.

BACK TO THE SHIPPING! I got mine on first day. Still on "prepared for shipment." Although there is Saturday shipping in my area.

I read that a HUB scan means it's hung up in customs.

Got departure scan from AK:

ANCHORAGE, AK, US 03/30/2010 6:50 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN

But, the only flights out are either 3:30 PM ish or 11:34PM AKDT. I always thought the departure scan was wheels up, but either they're late entering the system or it really hasn't left yet [for Louisville].

I also got an exception logged at my local UPS station for 9AM tomorrow. I'm guessing it's telling them to sit on the package until 4/3.

Thats crap. Or speculation.

If it was hung up in customs it would have an EXCEPTION on the tracking. Thats what those are for.

And trust me, its practically IMPOSSIBLE for that to happen because Apple is sending these in pallets and in bulk, and are almost guaranteed to not have any problems passing customs.

I wouldn't sweat it.

Looks to me like UPS71 took off early. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS71

I think our iPads touched down in Louisville about 5 minutes ago.

(Or the timezone differences between AK, KY, and FL have really messed with my ability to line up the time-stamps into a logical pattern.)

No, a departure scan means either:
1) it has finished sorting and is on a pallet / group of pallets ready to be loaded onto a specific aircraft
or
2) The manifest for a departing aircraft has been scanned.

The only "wheelsup" time you are truly going to get is flightaware.com, yet their info is delayed (in terms of when it is reported) for federal security reasons.

And yes, the internal activity is UPS processing Apple's on-call delivery hold request, and at start of business tomorrow your local UPS facility will have that request on hand.

In terms of a specific flight, it may be the one leaving at 3AM EST (11PM AKDT) and arriving in KSDF Louisville at 9 AM. UPS2997.

Thanks, I was getting a little worried there.
