I am in the same boat. :(

Billing info received-- nothing more.

Mine was originally Billing Info Received effective 03/31/2010 and now it shows as Billing Info Received 04/01/2010.

Sad

:(

Mine originally showed the 31st in the early AM for my billing info. Then after the Guangzhou stuff showed up, it changed to this:

4/2/2010 4:24:00 AM IN TRANSIT TO GUANGZHOU, CN
4/2/2010 4:23:00 AM DEPARTURE SCAN CHEK LAP KOK, HK
3/30/2010 8:38:00 AM ORIGIN SCAN SHENZHEN, CN
4/1/2010 8:09:00 PM BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED CN

Just talked to Apple, they told me that everything is fine. UPS however told me that some orders had some "problems" and may not arrive until later next week.I hope the UPS lady was wrong and was just trying to get all of us off the phones as fast as possible

I talked to ups and they said if you have Saturday delivery you'll get it saturday and that the reason some still say billing info recv is because since there is so many ipads that are getting shipped they are bulk sending them so they can't scan every single one.....

I hope that's what it is, cause I'm in the same boat as alt of people I'm still at billing info recv :(

Waiting

Ok, so we are on our way from Korea to Anchorage, I just wish I could talk them into letting me on that plane when it lands here, it would only take me a few minutes to find mine, and that would save the UPS driver from having to take time out of his busy schedule to have to stop at my house on Saturday... Someone else could actually get theirs a few minutes sooner...

Anyone hear the rumor that a Netflix App goes live April 3rd too?

:D:D:D

I hope that is the case, I'm tired of hearing of all the other crap.

Spoke with Apple for what it is worth

I spoke with a nice rep at Apple for what it is worth.

She said that UPS right now is really just bombarded. She said almost all (if not all for April 3) is stateside regardless of what the shipping says. She said in fact Apple is working with UPS and staging the shipments stateside so that they are all going out at the same time (to those who can get Saturday delivery).

She said that most of the UPS reps just have no real clue how major this is and that Apple has been working very hard to ensure this is pulled off with the help of UPS.

She did tell me that if Apple did not feel it could be delivered by April 3 based on my area then I would have receieved email or communication (seem slike a forum member experienced just this).

Honestly I think that is a BS response - why do you think everyone (in the case of the korea air transit, and those who are enroute to guangzhou) is getting their updates with the EXACT same timestamps?

I don't mean to be harsh or anything but they kinda did lie, in a way. They use manifests and major clumps of data for those shipments. They are all in their own containers (all of the packages that came from Apple) and they are all being scanned in bulk using WorldEase and WorldShip so that customs is faster and they don't need to remove the packages and scan by hand because they are all the same and will ultimately end in KY...

So yea they scan them in bulk, but that doesnt explain why your shipping info is the only thing you have.

Again, not trying to be overly critical or mean, but I don't see how my package could be in the US when the updates are coming in real time... UPS can't fake those - they only come when they are scanned by a scanner in their shipping process.

And the times correlating with the flights...

I am sorry but it is all too perfect. Maybe she thinks they are, but there are atleast 2-3 flights worth that have not yet made it there. But I guess most are, because some are still enroute from PANC and some are sitting in KY. But still that doesn't account for all, and that there are still some departing Korea and Guangzhou, CN.

but thanks for the update though :D

I hope your right! I just am getting anxious and I want my ipad lol!!! I hope Apple an ups know what they are doing!

I know this is probably a really dumb question to some of you, but how on earth is Apple/UPS supposed to get each rand every iPad from Korea/China to every customers doorsteps in less than 2 days? Doesn't this seem odd to anyone?

You think you guys are confused ?

Mine was shipped on the 29th. Here's todays update. Note this is right after a UPS flight landed in my city.

This theory actually works with what I stated earlier when I talked to a manager at UPS. He told me that 95% of them are in the US but they are being guarded right now in KY. He also told me that Apple is working "closely" with UPS and that tracking might not be provided accurately. At the time I didn't think much of it but as I talk to more and more people I'm getting similar responses. UPS does not legally have to provide accurate tracking.

Also we are dealing with Apple here. They are one of the most secretive companies out there.

No. Millions of packages go through UPS WorldPort each day, and less than 1-2% of them are late, if at all.

That is why UPS and Apple have staggered the orders - some got shipped Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Today, and some tomorrow.

They get sent through Ak and KY, and with the hundreds of UPS flight in/out of KY, I can assure you that they will get where they need to go. This isn't UPS's first time shipping a package ;)

And they are not "coming from korea" to clarify, they just made a little visit there when their plane landed there to bring other packages to it on its way to PACN Anchorage :D

I still don't see where the secrecy is though, in terms of the tracking... everyone's has been updating pretty close to real time (delayed, yes, in some cases). And I just don't see how Apple would want to withold tracking info anyways. Who cares? It is going to sit in KY, guarded, until Friday night when the flights begin departing for cities with Sat. delivery! :D

I was about to rant too but this is perfect sir.

See, this is what I think of UPS and FedEx, UPS has really accurate shipping
times, FedEx is more reliable on taking care of your stuff.

I actually just called UPS again myself but this time made no mention of apple and just gave the rep my tracking # and explained that my last status update has been unchanged since last entry (LOUISVILLE, KY, US 03/31/2010 2:38 A.M. ) she put me on hold for a couple then came back and said per a special arrangement with Apple my package will be delivered saturday since saturday delivery is available in my area ( Connecticut ). I asked if I would see any change in the system showing me when it would be out for delivery and she said most likely not until saturday but assured me it will be delivered on the 3rd. When I called the other day the rep said I would have it on friday by 10:30am which I didn't believe from the get go. Here is my full history.

UPS 21 just showed up on 'radar' estimated landing at 1:36 Eastern.

If you package detoured to Hong Kong, there is a good chance it's on that aircraft

you definitely will have it by Saturday - its in the US! That hold is saying that it isn't cleared yet by Apple or customs. IT WILL CLEAR BEFORE TOMORROW NIGHT!

Haha. And most of the people on the phones from a few days ago didn't even know about these shipments, and when they were in the beginning stages they had to use the UPS In-Transit estimator to give you an approximate date "pending customs clearance." trust me, Apple is working a different system under different circumstances.

How about use whose iPads are still "enroute to Ghengzhou, CN ?!" :D
