iPad shipped, Apple just sent out tracking numbers!

Does anyone think they will not get it on time ?

My UPS tracking number screen is telling me my IPAD just been scanned at GUANGZHOU, CN around 10min ago for a Departure Scan.

I don't know, it seems a little late to get to NJ tomorrow. That is assuming it has to still get to Alaska, then Kentucky...then to me.

Is anyone else in the same boat ? I preordered mine within the first hour.

Can you go to iship.com and clock on trackit. Then copy all of your tracking info from there into a reply here. We should be able to tell you what's what with your package. The ups site is a lot less detailed because they filter the results :)

Yes, I am getting concerned about mine since it still showing it is in Kentucky but in transit for delivery. So either they are not scanning them, or they are going to drop the ball and we won't get them in time. I ordered mine in the first 15 min and I still am wondering if tomorrow will be a happy day or not. My case still isn't showing as being prepared for shipment....although it has changed from ship by today to ship by tomorrow (4/2 to 4/3) which is kind of irritating.

My iPad was definitly on UPS21. However, iship.com says my package is going back to China >.<

That's all mine says at iship.com. It used to be dated 3/31/2010 but it was updated to 4/2. No origin scan. Apple is definitely not paying for UPS Sonic delivery (now renamed UPS Express Critical)-- so unless it's buried in the middle of a palette at the local UPS hub, it's not making it here for delivery tomorrow.

I got that message several days ago -- then it disappeared and now the tracking system says it just left China!

Yup, many of us are iPad traveling buddies. Those of us who were in Korea went to Anchorage and from there we're on our way to Kentucky on UPS43. It's explained why a few posts back on why we likely didn't get an Anchorage scan.

Okay let me make this clear and I don't mean to sound mean here but now people are getting a little too paranoid - if it is in KY and you have Saturday delivery you are going to get it!

It isn't scanning because most UPS flights from KY to your local airport don't happen until NIGHTIME! because that is after all of the pickups have been made and that days packages are in transit.

Trust me - when they are ready to move your package to the loading dock at worldship for your flight, they will break down those pallets, sort, and send if to the dock logistics team for loading.

Now stop worrying and look forward to getting your ipad!! :)

It has been explained a few posts back that they are likely to shop from KY with stock already there. It hasn't showed up yet because it was most
likely included in a bulk shipment for retail sale and they have not individually scanned your package - while those who came right off the factory line DID because Apple gave them those packages and they (by their process rules) HAVE to scan each package once individually before it can be included in a manifest or aggregated shipment.

That's EXACTLY what mine shows on iShip.com. I ordered a 32 gb WI-FI model 1 hour after orders opened on day 1 (March 12) and I'm in Texas.

It measn they suspect their to be fruit in your box and will have to hold it for a FDA inspector!:eek:
 
I assume that if Apple charged your credit card and did not send you a "deliver on Monday" e-mail then you should be fine. According to iShip and UPS my iPad is in China and is not going anywhere. Do I believe this? No. It is probably in Louisville partying with the hundreds of other unassigned iPads waiting for delivery tomorrow.

Not living anywhere near kentucky and being a regular UPS Worldship user, I know that my shipment needs to be scanned in Kentucky and put on a plane no later than 10pm EST tonight to make it to my local hub in the Northeast for early AM sorting and truck loading for delivery.

Six of one 1/2 dozen of the other: In my daily interactions with UPS, it seems 99% possible the online tracking info is screwed up. It most often is. However, it's also 99% impossible that a shipment for delivery tomorrow could be sitting in a hub without having an origin scan to enter it into the UPS system. Someone would need to be preparing it for transfer to my local hub. That skid of iPads would need unpacking scanning and sorting by now.

I'm hoping the the online tracking info is screwed up, and my iPad isn't still sitting in China waiting for pickup.
 
Def in the same boat. Pre ordered within the first hour. Mine is in Incheon, KR and got a trasnsit scan at 9:32. I'm assuming its on its way to Alaska, then Kentucky, then here? looks like it wont make it to Jersey.

All Points Taken Into Account

Although my package is in KY, and I agree I probably shouldn't be that paranoid, in the last 6 months, between myself and my neighbors we have had 7 packages go missing. UPS shows delivered and none of us got them. Don't get me started on the misdeliveries too. Or when I have been at home waiting for them to show up so I can sign for a package, click refresh and it says no one home and they didn't even come by. Call and complain and I STILL have to wait for Monday for redelivery. So I will be sitting at home tomorrow refreshing the UPS page so that if it shows delivered or no one home and I didn't get it I can throw the mother of complaints. If I get it, I will be throwing the mother of all happy dances!!!!!!

Nope...unfortunately I don't I am in California and there is not one close to me. If there is a gaggle, I will have them hold it and I will pick it up Monday on my way to work.
