Well I don't know what to think.
This is all the info my tracking number is showing/has shown since I started tracking it.

SHENZHEN, CN 03/30/2010 9:29 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN
CN 04/02/2010 11:13 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

I don't possibly see how it will reach me in Miami Beach by tomorrow.

Anyone else with the same info as mine?

I just checked mine and it's pretty much the same as yours for the past 3 days, no sign of even making it to Kentucky - unless they just aren't updating I see little chance of making it to me tomorrow.

I find myself being drawn back to this thread even though my iPad has been listed as sitting in Louisville for a couple days now. Why? I've read all the reviews (and they're getting a bit repetitive at this point), can pretty much recite a typical set of comments any given article on the iPad will get, and am just sitting around eagerly awaiting mine to arrive tomorrow.

Reading this thread is comforting because it is sort of like 'hanging out' with a bunch of like-minded people, almost all of whom are due to get their iPads either tomorrow or Monday and like me are so excited about it. Rather than talking to people who look at me like I'm a bit funny when I mention the iPad, it's nice to be here and feel almost "normal"!

It's so true. The community here is so great. I can't believe I got sucked into this thread like 30 pages ago and have read every post since. It's fun and nice to know we're all in this together. :D

Apparently those reports of security at UPS hubs are correct. Spoke with a rep at the Maspeth, NY hub and she confirmed that they have special security there just for the iPads. They also laid on a lot more drivers from other areas to handle the volume and they would start leaving around 8am tomorrow.

And, folks, relax. No matter what your tracking info says now almost all of you will get your iPad tomorrow. Really.

My gut instinct says you're right, but it requires more faith in UPS than most people have in Apple. :)

I just saw a UPS truck drive by. My heart jumped to my throat, and I hallucinated the driver holding my iPad in his outreaching hand and laughing evilly as he sped away!!!

Checked iShip and my package is headed back to HK? WTF? That can't be right. Think it's a time zone goof up. I hope anyhow...

The thing that gives me hope was that UPS pulled off the far bigger (yes, shocking I know!) launch of the last Harry Potter book flawlessly. They've done it before, they can do it again!

I ordered at 5:12AM on opening day, 1 16GB WiFi and a case.

The unit showed prepared for shipping the same day as all those other first ones did, in Shenzen. Then it showed a couple origin scans in Guangzhou. Still, today, it only shows Guangzhou...

PLUS

My boss ordered one a couple days later, and his shows Shenzen>Guangzhou>Anchorage>INCHEON KOREA!?!?!

UPS's checkpoint capture and tracking is just hands down the worst in the industry.

I am going to level the city like Godzilla if mine is not here on Saturday.

One of the flights leaving China DID make a stop in Korea to pick up/drop off cargo. The containers that held our iPads never left the plane as the manifests were just scanned in bulk, thus why it says Air Transit Scan

It has been said a few times that world ease shipping will be unreliable until the pallets are dismantled and each individual package are then scanned into the system giving you your detailed personal tracking information like you are used to with domestic packages.

I ordered on March 12th, almost instantly when they went up for pre sale. My debit card was JUST charged today, and my tracking has said "Billing information received" for the past week. At this point, I have very little faith in UPS. I will be surprised if this shows up on Saturday, let alone Monday.

For those wanting to know if they get Saturday delivery.....

For those wanting to know if they get Saturday delivery.....

There are two guys from UPS on Twitter:

They are extremely helpful and unlike most of the people in the call centers at UPS, actually know what is going on! :D

They say that most people should get the delivery on Saturday unless you are in a real rural area. They have a list of zip codes that will NOT get it on Saturday.

Tweet them with your zip to ask if you zipcode is on the NO list or not.

From what I can gather :

http://flightaware.com/live/findfli...nt'l+Standiford+Field+(Louisville,+KY)+-+KSDF

All flights from Anchorage to Louisville that are UPS flights have already arrived - there is one scheduled for arrival tomorrow afternoon, but it would of course miss the Sat delivery window.

In short my friends, if you know you get Sat delivery your iPad is IN Kentucky regardless of what the tracking information says. Later today you will see the scan into Kentucky if you have not already, and you will also see the individual package scan leaving Kentucky for your local hub.

Prepare to be surprised! :D

EXACTLY! The same exact hysteria filled the iPhone 3GS shipping topics last year. And virtually EVERYONE got their 3GS when Apple promised. This, despite the fact that UPS/FedEx reps told them it was going to be delayed. All of the teeth gnashing and hand wringing was a complete and utter waste of energy.

But none of the nOObs in this topic care to listen.

2nd. I tried ThomasatUPS last night (had to struggle to remember my twitter login) and he replied within a few hours confirming my zipcode was good to go for Saturday.

I mean, I realize this is a random stranger on the internet but whatever, it was a cheap thrill and maybe he really does have a list. :)

So true, but with my experience buying my 3GS at 5th avenue, NY was horrible, and from that day, I learned to always pre-order stuff.

Moday Delivery Email Quetion Again

So does anyone know for sure if Apple and UPS set up a special agreement to send out extra drivers for a Saturday delivery even if one lives in a location that normally does not get Saturday delivery. I just heard from a local UPS store that my little community is in a spot that does not get Saturday deliveries unless Apple has made a special agreement with UPS. Has a business ever done that with UPS before?

So since I got the dreaded email about a Monday delivery I just was wondering what others in the same boat anticipate or have heard fromUPS. Wost case scenario UPS will leave it on my door step on Monday since I pre-signed for it.

"UPS developed a special ops plan for iPad Launch, so rest assured you're getting your iPad tomorrow."
