okay but techdude16 i dont see how my package isnt in KY yet thats the whole thing. so if youre saying it should get updated once in KY, why has it yet to be updated....the air transit update came like last night at 830 PM EST...thats a very long time ago. im just worried i wont get it tomrorow thats all

Just got departure scan out of KSDF:

LOUISVILLE, KY, US 04/02/2010 5:12 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN

Now to figure out what flight. There doesn't seem to be one scheduled for KONT, so perhaps it's making a stop. That'd be unusual for the KY > CA run.

So is UPS holding back info so people don't get really mad when they see it's in their city but held until tomorrow? Obviously iship has more info, so UPS is doing some deliberate obfuscation I think.

Trust me you have no reason to be worried... those crates could be unloaded any time now.

Also, too, there is another flight enroute from Anchorage right now, that may have our shipments on it. I have to look the number up, but it is possible that they got transferred to a different flight and just didn't update.

UPS is doing a lot of crazy things.

And remember too WorldPort is a 24/7 operation, and most flights to destination cities wont go out until the early AM hours of Saturday Morning (tonight). So don't worry there is plenty of time for those scans to occur.

I've just had my second import scan and now a "location" scan in Louisville.

Think about it this way. Let's say there are 50 people in Louisville doing nothing but scanning iPads. Let's say there's a total of 500,000 iPads to be scanned in a 24 hour period. Those 50 scanners would each have to scan 7 iPads per minute for 24 hours straight, with no breaks. That's not including waiting for planes to all park, palettes to be offloaded and broken up, etc. Not including all the other packages that UPS handles either. The point being an iPad could arrive and spend quite a long time waiting for a scan.

UPS 2916 to Long Beach :)

When you search for flights from KSDF to the LA area, dont search (under "dont know my flight number" from KSDF to KONT) search KSDF to ZLA - it will give all flights to the LA area :)

UPS always does this - their site filters certain scans, including internal scans that they deem unnecessary to display on their tracking. iShip just does directly to the UPS servers and gathers the info, and doesn't filter it.

Thats good! That means it is going through WorldPorts loooooooong tracking line right now :)

It should be brought to a departure ramp and put in bins ready to be placed on a flight going to your nearest sort facility tonight :)

My iPad taxiing in on UPS61 just now @ ANC from ICN.

It still seems like it took UPS43 last night from ICN.... but they may have held some packages in Korea to wait for the later flight.

Either way they should still be on time.

So it's not UPS918?

I think maybe the Alaska terminating shipments might have been held for this flight to allow room on the earlier flight for the through material... Not sure though, it seems like all the Alaska terminating shipments have not shown anything beyond the transit scan in ICN. While others have updated with Loiusville scans... A boy can dream though :)

No, why would it be?

UPS918 is a morning (3-4AM) flight from KSDF to KONT.

It is possible that they may use it in the morning, but he said his JUST left KSDF (Departure scan). And if it really "left" KSDF, then it is on that flight...

:O

HOLY @&#^!

There are FOUR (count that 4!) UPS Flights leaving from PANC tonight going to KSDF - 5 if you count the one enroute:

UPS81
UPS63
UPS71
UPS109

http://flightaware.com/live/findflight?origin=PANC&originName=K&destination=KSDF&destinationName=

They must be clearing out all of the packages that were held for shipping/customs releases and things. So maybe this will mean big things for certain people, possibly with just billing info scans...

They typically have 3-6 flights to KY from ANC each night, sometimes more.

Unless I'm searching incorrectly or something, I don't see anything scheduled coming from KY to KRFD. I assume they'd be sending it there, since it's one of their major hubs and about 40 miles away or so.

The funny part is you think actual "people" are doing the scanning.. :)

Haha yupp. It is very possible, UPS and FedEx both will drop shipments in certain locations to await a later pickup if certain packages waiting have to enter the system by a cetain time to meet guarantees made to their customers.

Again that might also be why there are 4 different UPS flights going out from PANC tonight :D
