RIGHT CLICK AS LONG PRESS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate that something this simple took this long to integrate into iOS/iPadOS....but it’s a game changer for me. Very glad I returned my iPad Pro 11 and picked up the 12.9, this is a laptop replace for me.

While I like (and intend to use) this option, I find the “pause” when you right click to long press problematic. The right click literally simulates a long press by taking away the control over the pointer from you and doing the long press instead of you. I would much prefer it to be instantaneous, as there is no reason to wait when clicking with a mouse. It’s really noticeable when you just right click (actually left clicking and holding is fine, because it’s your action - the right click and then the artificial pause seem like iPad froze for a second).

This is the one thing I miss, everything else is great. A mouse + keyboard with an iPad is a really great combo. Apple is not going to do it, but I wish they made the long press instantaneous and make the mouse option more discoverable. But even as it is, it’s pretty awesome.

Agreed!! But it’s the first implementation of this, hopefully it’ll only get better.

With 13.1, there are very few changes. The pointer Auto-Hide setting does nothing - whether it is on or off and whatever time setting when on, the pointer disappears in 10 seconds. After about 30 seconds of inactivity, you still need to click the mouse to get it to work. I am using an Apple Mighty mouse (bluetooth) and the scroll wheel works but can't be set to the more conventional scroll direction.

I have set the second mouse button to Dock since it is the only way I can get the dock to appear. Dragging from the bottom doesn't work. I tried setting button 2 to long press, but this is ridiculous - it literally does a long press, which slows things down.

It is frustrating that decent mouse support is almost there, but not quite.

I think it’s encouraging that they added right click functionality already. I didn’t expect this to be added so soon. I hope they add gestures for the MM2 and MT2 and the ability to completely hide the cursor when you don’t use it. (For me, when I stop using my mouse but keep Assisted Touch on, the mouse cursor reappears in the center is the screen and won’t go away even if I’m not actively using my mouse).

For me it works - I have it set to disappear after 2s, and it does. And all I have to do to get the mouse working again (even after 30+ seconds) is to move it. I’m using the Logitech MX Master.

I am glad we finally have long press for right click, but I really wish the response was faster. I might as well just hold left click down if it is just going to do the exact same thing.

Make sure to send apple feedback on reducing response time!!!

Edit: While I havent experienced this in 13.1, the mouse scroll wheel stops working sometimes and I have to restart my mouse to fix the issue. Not sure if it is fixed yet in this new beta since it is too early to tell.

I have tried two Apple mice - an old Mighty mouse and a recent Magic mouse - and in both cases the mouse became non-functional after a few minutes of inactivity, requiring a click to come back online. I have notified Apple of this bug. The scrolling on the Magic mouse is absent.

The mouse seems to lack acceleration, where the size of the pointer motion depends upon the speed of the mouse motion. This is great on the Mac but seems completely absent on the iPad (with acceleration, moving the mouse very rapidly causes the pointer to move a greater distance).

Acceleration is very important, especially for trackpads. Frankly, if they are going to give us this, give it to us, instead of some half attempt, that's frustrating.

We just need to complain loudly and often. This shouldn't be to hard, as most people here do that anyway :)

I’m encouraged by the progress mouse support has made in just the past few months of its first iPadOS appearance. Before now, it was begged for and since then they made the pointer smaller, (still hoping for a traditional arrow) and added the right click.

I’m hoping this is the early stages of the future of iPadOS, where an official folio keyboard + trackpad is a reality. (My real dream is an iPad that can dual boot into MacOS or iPadOS, even if that was limited to the iPad Pro line)

Like you said, keep complaining loudly for more mouse improvements!

For 30 quid can’t complain at all about this Logitech mouse...scrolls and has good features. Will make this make true laptop replacement

Had an extra Magic Mouse II lying around so decided to connect it. Miss the regular swipe features, and there is definitely a learning curve involved, but the iPad Pro becomes a different machine without having to touch the screen constantly. Not sure if I will keep using the mouse unless I can fully use all the swipe features, but for now, having fun~

Hi Ya’ll. I am wondering if anyone here has been able to set up a mouse gesture on iPadOS 13 yet, which will zoom in or out on apps such as google maps? On my Mac using Safari, the scroll wheel on the mouse zooms in and out instead of vertical scrolling. I’m using the Logitech MX Anywhere 2 mouse. Thanks!

There is a button that can be assigned to pinch to zoom. i guess that’s as close as you can get with iPadOS 13. Unfortunately it’s buggy. We need to wait a bit more for it to work properly. Hopefully by 13.1

Thanks, tried that. Indeed, it is very buggy. It works, but it creates two cursors with a bar between them, left clicking then stretches or shrinks, providing the desired zoom effect. Unfortunately, it doesn’t go away, and left or right clicking only zooms the window at that point, until powering down the mouse. By the way, I’m on 13.1.
Hopefully Apple can fix this before iPadOS goes gold.

For some reason the scroll wheel on my rog strix carry bluetooth mouse stops working after a few min. I have to turn the mouse off and on again to fix the issue. Does anyone else have this problem? It is quite an annoying bug

Does anyone want to buy this and then tell me if it works with the mouse ball thingy?? Thanks!

mine did, but after a while it worked flawlessly. It did again after I did a clean install of my iOS, but again it worked flawlessly after a while. Go figure. Probably a glitch that Apple may fix someday.

Edit: I spoke too soon. Now I’m having those issues with my scroll bar wheel again and again. Don’t know how to fix it.
