I just returned from Best Buy. At this store, phones just arrived this afternoon/evening. They haven’t had a chance to unpack them, scan them, and send out emails.

Manager took my number and he will text me first thing in the morning and let me know when I can come in. He said emails won’t even go out until around 9 AM. They don’t open until 10.

That’s why I drove over, because I knew I’d get a better answer than if I just spoke to somebody on the phone.

For those of us that ordered for delivery, I wonder if it makes a difference for how soon we are likely to get delivery if we are set up for "Signature Required" vs. "Leave on porch"? Like, would they deliver signature required packages first and then the rest of the deliveries that are drop off only?

I took a visit to my local Best Buy to purchase a new MacBook Pro ($400 off sale + $100 student deals + $100 rewards for an i9 512GB 15” Mid 2019 Model). I got to talk with the logistics manager (********ting around) and they said they have a huge shipment + more coming in tonight. My store currently has early 3rd shifters coming in to scan, sort and label the new iPhones.

For those who haven’t received any status updates from “Pre-Order” to “Pickup Tomorrow”, DO NOT WORRY. You will be called to come in and grab your phone. If you haven’t been called you simply can show up, wait in line and grab your phone.
They will have plenty of stock + more.

The logistics manager (who I trust) states that emails will start going out around 8-9 am local time. Best Buy’s will open at regular hours. There isn’t remotely as much demand as there was compared to last year and the year before that. Now that Best Buy is an official Apple authorized repair organization on top of their re-established partnership with Apple, they are more focused on customer satisfaction which involves getting these phones into people’s hands.

If your shipment has an “Adult Signature Required” requirement, you or any adult in your house are required to sign for the package. Otherwise, your delivery will be missed and you’ll have to wait for a 2nd attempt. If your shipment is with USPS, you are required to have an adult signature, no questions asked. If it’s with UPS, you have to have an adult signature, no questions asked. FedEx and DHL are following the same requirements as well.

You cannot, I repeat to everyone, CANNOT LEAVE A NOTE AT YOUR DOOR and expect them to honor it. They will simply will not it do it. They will walk away with your phone and count it as a delivery attempt and you’ll be left waiting till Monday or Tuesday.

This signature requirement is established so that Apple, Best Buy and our cellular carriers can cover their asses and your asset in case of an incident. For example, history has shown that lot of thieves are prowling during iPhone day. They know the apples are ripe for picking 🍎. Would be a shame if someone were to just randomly swing by your house, look at that nice juicy, tiny box at your front door and snatch it...

I have 4 phones for delivery. 3 pro max and 11 pro. I have tracking numbers for only 2 . The other 2 still showing preparing . I wonder if I will get those tomorrow? I ordered on 9/15.
 
I ordered the iPhone pro max 256 green and the Apple Watch 5 Monday morning the 16th. Just received two emails cst 12:18 and 12:27 am ready for pickup.

Got the same email. Phones in stock at local store. But I can’t even cancel my order to go pick one up because its locked and I’m using ATT next every year upgrade. Best Buy come on guys.

I ordered my 256 iPhone Pro around late evening yesterday and I already received an email telling me my phone is ready for pick up. That's crazy..... I have never had anything go this right when dealing with Best Buy.

I guess there's always a first time for everything. lol
 
happy for the people getting their phones right away. But it is such bs that I would be getting my phone today if i went online and ordered right now rather than preordering a week ago.

This is why local stores should not be handling their pre-order mailings. I called the 888 number last night and I got my tracking number so I assumed all was well. Only to wake up in the middle of the night to this and a text saying it has been delayed.

it even says if we can’t ship it by Sunday OCTOBER 20th then we will let you cancel.

It also goes on to say I have to return my existing phone to AT&T before then if I don’t get it.
 
I got the same email. Check your local stores online inventory. I was able to place an upgrade order at a local Best Buy via ATT next upgrade for today for same phone line upgrade I wanted delivered for pickup today. I’ll be calling Best Buy to cancel the other order today After I pick up this one.

I just attempted to do this, but it shows my line is not eligible for an upgrade, because Best Buy has already activated an installment plan on my line.

I did already have a tracking number last night when I called the automated 888 number, it’s just frustrating that I ordered it two hours in to the pre-order and it’s not going to be delivered when others ordered a couple of days ago. I’m happy for everyone getting their phones today regardless of when they ordered, but I feel like it shows a failure of logistical execution on the part of Best Buy.
 
I cancelled my order with Apple on 9/17 and ordered with Best Buy for in store pick up. It just turned preparing for pickup over night!!!

Half of Houston is underwater today... I doubt UPS/Fedex will be out delivering. I don’t want anyone to risk their life over this phone! // but also excited to get it!
BTW: my phone shipped from Boston to Houston for my preorder. Local store did not fulfill my order!

If the box is unopened I was told by Best Buy Customer Service there is no restocking fee. If the box is opened then it will cost $35.

I was wondering if they all went through a local store. The other part that is frustrating is that I live in KY to hours away from the nations UPS sorting facility in Louisville KY.
 
All I have is preparing for local pickup ... which is a move in the right direction.

What’s up with everyone suddenly getting a “delayed” (for a month !!) on delivery orders?
