If you just got the email yes. It will take a bit to get the 2nd email for ready for pickup since the stores are not open.
my worry tho is they gonna go look for the item and they gonna see they don't have any and then i will get a sorry email lol
 
just called the 888 number again and now it says "Ready for pickup"! Guess the site and email are just slow to come through!
 
Currently in store. My pre-order status was stuck in pending / pre order (cancelled my original order and went for the midnight green) since yesterday. I literally am in the process of picking my order up. They didn’t update / scan mine in due to the overwhelming demand at this particular store.

Interestingly. I ordered my iPhone pro max 256gb with Verizon on Wednesday with est date of oct 9. I cancelled this morning and reordered at a Best Buy 20 mins from me for pick up today. Ordered at 9:37am and 20mins later got a text that my order was ready to be picked up.
 
i still don't have the ready for pickup email though which is odd.

UPDATE: ready for pickup text just came through! Cant wait to get off work!

I got the same notice. Delayed.

However, I was able to place an order for pickup at the same store. Let me guess. That too will be delayed?

This is a whole bunch of nonsense. Once I have a phone in hand I will cancel the other orders.

Does anyone know if Best Buy charges restocking fee for an unopened package?

Just a follow up. This morning at 3am eastern I placed an order for store pickup since my order from 9/15 (home delivery) was delayed.

I just got a text that my in store pickup order from this AM is available for pick up.

Unfortunately I can't cancel my order that I placed on the 15th even though it hasn't actually shipped yet... I will attempt to do something about it at the store when I arrive.
 
So I just spoke with Best Buy on the phone and even though the email says October 10th I was assured that is just the default 30 day window put in any email for an order that is delayed. He was able to give me my tracking ID and said its waiting at the warehouse to be picked up by the carrier. He believes that I should get it tomorrow or Monday. Still frustrating, but much better than October 10th.

Preordered on wednesday for pickup at a local best buy today, have not gotten any ready for pickup email today but there are several in stock that are "ready in 1 hour" at that store. What the hell? I'm a little nervous about pickup... i've never done an instore pickup on launch day and i'm trading in my iphone x to knock down the price a little bit. I hope this isn't going to be an ordeal lol.

I ordered last night a around 11pm. Got a "Ready for pickup" email a few minutes ago.

I'm pretty sure there's walk in stock for some models. Mine is a 11 Max 64.
 
888 number says "it's being prepared" just like the website. I want to plan to go at lunch but they are making it difficult. Thinking about placing the 1 hour order and cancelling the other.

Got my 11 pro max in the mail just now via FedEx. My brother in law ordered his 11 Pro max to my house as well and says it’s out for delivery via UPS. My wife’s 11 Pro that I purchased before any of these has a tracking number only that does not work on the UPS site, and I got a delayed email.

On a side note, I do really have a love/hate relationship with this process and forum, lol

I got the email saying my order is ready and to go pick it up. So I go to pick it up and they say they don't have it. They said they are getting another drop off of phones this afternoon and to check back then. Why send an email saying it is ready and make me drive there when it is not ready???

Right. I'm going to call first. My guess is about a 20% chance they don't have it, after a pick-it-up email. :D And that's generous.

But they are usually very good with pick-up stuff. It's this Apple circus that gets tangled up.

I really don’t think you can fairly use Apple as an excuse here.

Best Buy seems to always mess up these launches. Best Buy could have planned this out much better than they do. Really though- putting 1200 different retail stores in charge of shipping out pre orders? Just doesn’t make sense. Same with in store pick-ups. If it was organized and planned for properly, it’d be fine. It’s ONLY Best Buy’s fault (barring lack of inventory when inventory was originally promised.)

After handling the Midnight Green Pro Max, I have decided to go for the white / silver. Something about the green color didn’t rub me right. It’s a lot different than I imagined / pictured in my head.

Anyway, I’m walking out of Best Buy with my new 11 Pro Max 512GB Silver/White and a new MacBook Pro 15.

Time to get creative!

This literally happened to me. I actually walked in RIGHT when the truck was dropping off my order. I decided to go for Silver / White instead. Very bad logistics management on Best Buy’s part.
 
UGh... still in progress... I really hope its ready soon or by the time I leave work at the very least. In hindsight... should have ordered that phone for 1 hour pickup an hour ago
 
I pre-ordered for in store pick up on Saturday 2 phones. Last night my update changed to preparing your order. I walked into the store when it opened and said i didnt get an email for ready for pick up but was told on the phone my order is good and will be ready and to go to the pick up line, which i did despite being worried that something would be wrong. Luckily i was wrong and walked out of there with my order. I did notice that being the cage in the mobile section there was many available for walk ins, but then a UPS truck wrrived which may have contained more phones. So if you didnt get the email and you live close to the best buy for in store pick up, take the chance and see if they already put it aside like they did for many at the location i went to.
