Confirmation from who? A store employee or somebody who actually knows what’s going on?

Also, I’m not sure why that is good news to you. Anytime Best Buy retail stores get involved things get messed up. I’d be much happier to hear the phones are shipping from Apple or a Best Buy warehouse overnight shipping.

It is standard policy for Best Buy to ship out online phone orders from the stores, I know that much, but I’ve never heard of them doing that for an iPhone preorder.

A floor manager at one of the stores near me. :) It will be okay; everyone will be getting calls/tracking numbers tomorrow.

My order greyed out and is preparing for shipping.

I do want to note something:

I had an opportunity to talk with a local store manager (yesterday afternoon) whom I have a good working business relationship with. She stated that there is more stock available this year due to Best Buy being a major retailer and an official, expanded Apple partner (geek squad now officially is a Genius Bar). They have learned from the previous years and have already stocked their warehouses to the brim full of iPhones.

This does not guarantee that EVERYONE is getting an iPhone on release day; they are simply better prepared this year. The dates / information on the websites is fairly accurate, depending on your local area, demand and such.

I am located in FL near two major warehouses, hence one of the reasons why I am near guaranteed to get it. They pre stock their own warehouses from Apple then they send preorders / pickups directly to stores for said pickup. Another thing to note: they haven’t received as many pre orders for iPhones compared to last year, surprisingly. She hypothesized that a lot of folks went the Apple route due to their upgrade program. A lot more retailers have jumped in the mix as well (Walmart still has a bunch in stock).

I opted for store pickup which is slated for 09/20. I informed this manager of this to which she laughed at me. I asked why and shortly after, she preformed a quick check inventory check on her phone said to me “it’s already in the back”. I replied, “Goddamnit”.

26 more hours to go!

If you check your bestbuy order status you should have an Arriving Tomorrow; and no longer be able to cancel. That is how it is for me, my manager friend and 2 others here thus far. :)

Just checked. It switched from pre-ordered to “preparing”. But no shipping information yet. Still has the same get it by date. I can’t cancel anymore so I’m either getting it Friday or invite screwed and have to wait it out. First world problem I know.

mine Are still stuck at “arriving tomorrow”. I’m assuming “preparing” is a step ahead. We will see how this goes today I guess.

Arriving tomorrow might actually be a state ahead of preparing as it could indicate it has already shipped. Has your card been charged for taxes and have you checked UPS’s website for shipping using your order number as the reference number?

preparing - look like ship out today and ready for arrive tomorrow

so bestbuy charge last minute they disnt charge on preorder day due my credit card decline and i just update it , hope no delay and i should receive tomorrow asap ,
 
My pending charge fell off my account. No new charge has been placed. Worried now. Status shows "preparing". No tracking yet. Nothing in UPS or FedEx.
 
For what it is worth, I paid with a Best Buy credit card to get points. My card is showing no balance. but my available credit has been reduced by the amount of the phone. So I assume my charge is still pending.

BB make alot mistake on payment machine stuff , no trust next time ,
they dont know what the hek they doing and keep showing

Mine now shows "Arriving Tomorrow" and "Get Ready, Signiture Required." Looks like they might come through after all!
