I think that depends on your order date with Apple. I'm confident that those of us who preordered on launch day will get ours on launch day, however, at this point I personally can't see how Best Buy has all models still available for 9/20 delivery when Apple and the carriers are all pushed back.
 
Did anyone else get forced into a store pickup? I purchased new service with ATT through Best Buy and that was the only way I could get one.

They also said they couldn’t add all my lines onto the same account, and created 4 different accounts and they will merge them when I pick up the phone?

They also said that the BOGO would automatically go into effect. I left feeling like I got suckered into it because I just wanted the phone on Friday.
 
They created 4 different accounts for you? Make sure you dont have anything planned on friday. Because if they did that, you're gonna be there for awhile. They're going to have to merge the accounts. Did they create dummy lines on each account?

They're going to have to call att to get it all setup. And with it being release, phone hold times may be longer than normal. Not including regular customers coming in as well.

Are you porting numbers as well?

I logged in to myatt to confirm the old phone was paid off and saw the pending new financing (next 24, though it is not specific) for the price of the new phone.

Yeah we’re porting numbers too. Damn I should have left when they said they were going to do all that.

i agree. I ordered
On launch day so I feel good about it. But. They are being very misleading with stating every store has preorder pickup on launch day at this point.
 
If they created 4 lines for you, they should've given you 4 dummy numbers so they could pull up the accounts in their systems. Because best buy cannot pull them up from SS Numbers. So they'll have to call ATT to pull everything up by your social and hopefully begin to merging process.

Honestly sounds like a huge mess. Hard to believe there's no easier way for them to accomplish what they're trying to do.

There had to have been a better way but apparently the Best Buy was at couldn't do it any other way. If the stock is true and we can pick it up on Friday I might just cancel and go to another one.
 
Was told tonight by BB agent chat that they are shipping directly from Apple on 9/20. Then was told they will ship 9/19 and tracking will be provided on 9/19 as well for a 9/20 delivery, after I questioned the original shipping date they gave me. I was fine before, but after that conversation I’m really thinking about canceling my order tomorrow if I don’t get tracking info by noon and just trying in store somewhere on Friday.

i call them they said thursday will be tracking number , so they ship over night ,

1 day delivery , that weird

this is my last time @@@ i never order them again in future , i understand apple is slow and busy but at least they ship and give tracking information before 3-4 days not like bestbuy,

I’m canceling my Best Buy order and just going to try Apple store Friday morning. I’d rather buy from them anyway. Almost Thursday and not even processed.

It's now Sep 18th, and my neither the iPhone 11 Pro or the iPhone 11 Pro Max have shipped. The Best Buy website still shows pick up available on Sep 20th for every model. This is in stark contrast with every other carrier, and apple themselves, which have dates pushing out into October.

I'm not so much asking a question here, but more stating the obvoius that as has happened in past years, Best Buy has planned poorly, and I'm pretty confident in saying they've dropped the ball this year on Pro-Orders. If you disagree with that assessment, please answer me how Best Buy has all the stock in the world, when the carriers, and the manufacturer themselves are short on stock?

I was optimistic, but as time goes on, and all the people in a forum thread on MacRumors haven't had their phones ship yet either, it makes me less and less optimistic.

Im holding out hope, in theory they could send tracking tomo for overnight shipping... i guess?

Of course I jumped the gun and cancelled my order with Sprint after they pushed back to Oct 4 for the MG 64GB pro. Now some of those people are getting their phones on launch day. Best Buy better not screw this up!

the SHIP dates for BEST BUY have slipped.... which is a good sign, if your order still says 9/20.....

I would cancel all of that. I used to work for Best Buy mobile and unfortunately most of the people I worked with over 4 1/2 years didn’t have any idea what they were doing. Not everyone was like that but most. You should order the phones through att.com because on top of the bogo on the 4 lines you will get a $300 reward card as well. Also I feel like it will takes months to fix all the problems they have started by doing this to your account. I currently have worked for a ATT corporate store for 2 years

Same thing I said. Whomever decided to go this route with opening 4 lines, do not know what they're doing.

Well. This will not go well. Whoever did this really messed up. I can’t think of any way to fix that. I’m questioning how this was done since each account is presumably tied to one SS#. The store pickup is the only option if you are trading in any phones.

As far as shipping, Apple typically dropships phones. I did not get any tonight, but I fully expect to get them tomorrow for staging for Friday. Also I’ve been with BBY 14 years and have seen almost everything, if anyone has specific questions.

I have a friend who is a floor manager at a BB near me; he said the box got there today (Wednesday) with the phones but he couldn't open them or anything obviously until dated day. He said I will have my phone Friday because they ship the phones from the store nearest me. Is that true?

Is it normal for people to not yet have movement, but still receive phones Friday?
