It doesn’t sit well with me that they advertise you’ll be able to pick up the preorder the day it’s out, when they really have no idea if you’ll be able to and you probably won’t be able to. I placed my order in store yesterday where the worker told me it’ll be available to pick up tomorrow, just wait for the email, and I’ll be very surprised if it is actually ready.
I’m just curious if any of you that preordered for pick up in store, if your order status has changed at all? Thanks

Does anyone know how they are shipping them? Is it USPS, UPS, or Fedex? Mine still says it's coming tomorrow 9/20 so far...

Bestbuy has so much stock, you can get any color and any config for pickup Tomorrow still. Everybody will get their phones tomorrow.

It will be, you have nothing to worry about! They still have every model available to pickup tomorrow if ordered now. Instore pickups usually don’t change status till you pick it up anyways. But you don’t need those fingerscrossed you will be good!

I usually have only done in store pickup. Most of the time the status never changes till it’s in ur hand, sometimes it does. I never waited for the “it’s ready to pickup” I just go in right when they open and make them give it to me.. lol 10am tomorrow you will have both.
Now we just need to see some folks getting tracking emails or information showing up in UPS or FedEx.
When I worked there 2 years ago everything was UPS but it might have changed
When I worked at Best Buy we would always open at 8am on iPhone launch day, they might not anymore idk. I work for a corporate AT&T store now and we will be opening at 8am though.
Lucky, I ordered on the 13th for in store pick-up and it still says Pre-ordered.
Sidenote: Does anyone know if screen protectors for the pro and xs max are the same? I have a stray one, and dunno if I should throw it away, order a new one, or just wait... this waiting is no fun tho 🤣

every year we do this preorder ****. we get worked up and worried about getting it first. i need to stop worrying lol
ya I got mine last year with Bestbuy and they didn’t open till 10pm. Only store to do that. It sucked! And only one in 100 miles of me too.
My understanding is that they are exactly the same from what I've seen on reviews.
no, you’re fine. Bestbuy has a TON of stock. Walk ins will be able to get whatever model and color they want and get one.

The status just changed on mine and it says it's arriving tomorrow. No tracking number yet.
I will say, I have a mystery package coming by Fedex on Monday. I have no idea what it is. I only know it's coming because I signed up for alerts directly from Fedex. I've been wondering since yesterday when I got the text if it was the iPhone. All I know is it's something from California and right now it's in Bethany, Oklahoma.

I was going to have mine shipped to home but I'd be at work all day and would likely miss the delivery so I opted for In Store Pickup. I've been worried about availability since I know how Best Buy fulfills preorders but I'm feeling pretty good as of today. I'm picking up from a Best Buy near my work so I'll be there as they open at 10! My order status changed this morning so I'm feeling pretty good about it.
I also checked my bank account and my Pending charge never dropped, it's still there as "Pending". It never usually stays that long. lol
I'm going to give Best Buy a chance, just put an order in for in-store pickup tomorrow. I'm going to wait until I have pick-up confirmation before canceling my Apple.com order (currently in the Sep 27 - Oct 1 window).
