I just wonder how many Pro buyers really utilize all those Pro features after playing with them 1-2 weeks. I bet not many.
for me the 3rd lens is a must and i use it often. you also use the additional RAM (4GB on 12 vs 6GB on 12P), we do not know yet the RAM of the 15 models.

I've had my 13 Pro for a year and half now and I've used the telephoto lens 3 or 4 times..

I do a lot of nature photography where a telephoto lens is useful...but I have a DSLR with some high-end glass, so I never found much use for it on the phone...Next iPhone will probably be just the standard model.

Apart from the Titanium case and the new action button I didn't note a single change/upgrade from the iPhone14 Pro to 15 Pro this year. It certainly feels more like an (S) release rather than a brand new phone. Even as an early and frequent updater I am struggling to find a reason to upgrade this year.

Agreed, really felt like nothing new or innovative was announced, extremely minor upgrades
The titanium is new. The usb-c is new. The colors are new. The cameras are new/upgraded. The action button is new. The processor has been upgraded. U1 has been upgraded. Modem is upgraded. Wi-Fi has been upgraded. Possibly ram has been upgraded. IPhone pros have increased repairability. Other things may be discovered during the first reviews and tear downs. And that’s just the pros. Not typing another paragraph for the standard 15’s

So you definitely misspoke

The new chip is probably great for people who care about their Genshin or whatever. It will also productivity-wise be something to look forward to in the M3 etc, but hardware ray-tracing capabilities seem a bit superfluous in a phone.

Able to shoot in LOG = my attention.

Seems camera-wise this becomes *the* phone to upgrade to if you're running some kind of SOME video business or similar. The upgrades here seem pretty significant.

If you're on the Pro phone because idk you found the edges pretty, then maybe you don't care for these new edges and can skip this one.

All in all, a bit more interesting than I anticipated but as a less demanding phone-user I still don't think it's enough for me to switch just yet. Also, I want to see the actual durability of the colored titanium variants.

Incremental upgrades like all phones get year on year.

Right. But some like to have the latest upgraded connectivity and processing power. The shift to 3 nanometers for the first time will make this phone a processing beast and increase efficiency by over 30%, and with the new metallurgy should make this the best thermal managed phone. And although I don’t really game on my phone, the extra GPU cores will be a benefit to those that do. I am also interested in the new nano coating on the camera lens to further reduce lens flare so I’d like to see if that is a significant change.

The rounded edges appear the same to me as they do on the Iphone 14 so how did they change it?
They’re talking about the edge that meets the border of the screen of the phone and the edge that meets the back border. Not the actual meat of the band. The edges on the 14’s would dig uncomfortably in your hand. The new ones are rounded so It doesn’t have that sharper effect

iPhone 15 Pro crushes the 14 Pro in significant ways:
  • Lighter: Yes. It's about time.
  • Camera: Really introduces features that matter. Smart portrait mode. 120mm zoom mode. 24 mpix high-res standard photos. 48 is too big for many applications. Improved stabilization. This is a camera upgrade that matters, and it makes this new phone worth getting.
  • Action button looks really useful. One-click access to the camera? Yeah.
  • Rounded edges. So Apple listened to--or heard--the complaints about how uncomfortable these flat-edged, heavy phones are/were. About time.
There's more. But the 15 Pro is on my buy list. What were your takeaways?
I really hope they also improved heat management... It's really bad on a16 chip.

I’m really suprised what ppl expect? 8k resolution? integrated Coffee Maker?
It is one of the biggest upgrades since a long time… when was the last time the connector was changed? It is a huge change which alone justify for me personal an upgrade… the upgraded camera is a huge change, the processor is a huge change in the pro series including ray tracing and av1 codecs..

Just because the changes are not for you doesn’t mean they don’t exist… wait for the iphone 18 ultra with 12k resolution beamer whatever… just be happy you don’t need to spend anything because there is no change which you need… you don’t have to change a phone every year…

In general a smartphone is made for making phone calls, using apps and taking photos…. so don’t expect an integrated shaver or whatever….
there is not that much you can really improve… in the end the 15 pro max will be one of the best smartphones for making photos, it will have the fastest processor on the market so what? i’m happy with these changes and i just have to decide which color i have to buy.

Honestly, I think this is the most Lackluster announcement ever for Apple. It should have come out as an iPhone 14s. Absolutely no reason to buy a 15pro if you’re using a 13 or 14pro. Apple has been getting owned with innovation from other manufacturers. They are riding a wave of success for too long and need a punch in the face by investors to get them back on track. As I see it they will fail if they continue down a path of minor upgrades. I want the surprise of one more thing. This year folding phones would have been a way to save sales. I’m concerned that they are doomed. I truly feel like anybody posting of the revolutionary changes with this upgrade is hired help by Apple.

Please don’t make false statements like this… no reason for YOU to change the phone… and whats wrong with that you don’t have to spend any money?

It's nice, I'll bite this year. Opting for the 15 Pro in natural titanium with a clear spigen case and a fine woven case.

so from Steel now they go Titanium...so for a more fragile metal since steel is stronger second just to tungsten...but from profit margins, and weight ...titanium is the way to go since it can be made on lasers in mass production in the future
