It seems like Apple devices tend to lose battery life over time, whether they're in use or not, which many people believe could be a manufacturing issue. However, this is something we all have to manage as part of owning these devices.

It's frustrating because this seems like a manufacturing issue. I’m surprised to hear that the iPhone 16 is also having battery problems, especially since it was only released two weeks ago. It's really disappointing for Apple users, as we expect better quality from such a brand. This issue needs to be addressed quickly to avoid further dissatisfaction.

Background App Refresh and Find My (intermittently due to AirTags) are the biggest culprits for me.

Turned the former off now.

That’s just the way it is for some people. Battery life varies quite a bit and I don’t consider 1% an hour terrible.

He's talking about parasitic drain, not battery health or how long your battery lasts on a charge. The thing is, most electronic devices like smart phones and tablets suffer from patristic drain for the simple reason, even though the screen is off....the phone is still on and drawing power.

Tried the 80% limit charging

Yesterday night charged to 80% at 1105pm
Today 948pm about 37% left

Not sure if it’s good or bad heh

I’m fed up with this phones battery life. It’s absolutely pathetic. Just starts to drop like crazy out of nowhere. Its awful.

3 hours of screen usage and its at 58% and that’s only because I popped it in the car charger for a few minutes. It was at 53%.

It’s absolutely comical how bad this battery is.

Mine was 3h44m sot with 35% battery left

What a joke this phone has been thus far. I really regret buying it. The 15 Pro Max battery wasn't great but it was certainly better than this train wreck of a battery in a phone.

Just since standing in line in a coffee shop browsing the web the battery has dropped from 58% to 51% in 11 minutes. It’s completely unacceptable.

Yesterday we were at the beach all day and the phone was tucked into my backpack. At 10am it was at 100% and without touching it or doing anything at all by 4pm it was at 51%. Apple’s battery management gets worse every year and I’ve really grown tired of it.

Hello to all.
Last night I forget to put my pro max 16 on chargez.
When I slept it was 41% , when I woke up in the morning it was 35% , like it was loosing 1% of battery per hour.
I never expirenced this before.
Is this normal or ???
Is this your first smartphone ever?
It’s an electronic device and it needs a battery and electricity to function at all.
There’s always background activity, mails, apps, updates, HomeKit etc, etc.
Is your question really serious?

People , I am here because i respect this forum , and all of you.
If you know the answer , just say so.
If you have expirienced same , also say so.
If it not normal , tell me what to do
That is all

Sorry you have to experience the dark side of the internet forums here. Most of us are here to help, not shame.

On topic...It most likely has to be an app draining your battery. Experimenting with settings and keeping watch of what is going on in the background is the only advice I have. I wish you luck. I know stuff like this with tech can drive me crazy when I can't figure it out.

I did a second video test today. I set it to auto brightness, volume up and this is the result. I stopped the test at 50% because it shows that the battery is fine.

That is great result.
Other than touch screen issues , pro max 16 has good battery life.
In my case something is causeing battery drain when idle, but we will see , first to fix a screen :)

Hi,

Am i the only one with bad battery life on the 16 pro max?

Sometimes i need to charge it twice in a day and im not even a heavy/power user.

I get like 5:30hours of screen on time
My 14PM had better battery life.

However in the apps i do noticed that Instagram runs 2hours in the background where the 14PM does not have that issue.

Any tips?

Background app refresh is disabled
iOS 18.0.1
80% charge limit enabled
Always charging 20-80%

Does it still have that message about battery indexing? If not, try charging to 100% and see how it is. Then change it to 80% afterwards. I had mine set to 80% at first and it was draining quickly.
I’m currently at 4.55hrs screen active and 50% battery after 100% charge.

No. I upgraded my launch day 15 Pro Max (upgraded to iOS 18 before I sold it and with 99% battery health) to a launch day 16 Pro Max. Same settings including background app refresh globally disabled, same apps and I’m now getting about half the time between charges compared to my 15PM. Really disappointed.

Upstate NY . Was FL.
There is no nothing in background , in battery activity level.....
That is why I cant figure out why is this
Don’t worry about it. Mine does the same. Started since ios18 for me even when I was using the iPhone 14PM. Lose about 3-4% per night. Before I’d lose 1% or sometimes nothing over a 4-6 hour sleep . I think line is Eufy cam notifications, I have my notifications to not light up the screen. Just vibrate. But the cats outside trigger camera thus also notifications yet battery usage doesn’t show this app usage. iOS 18 🤣
