So now I realize my visual voicemail is gone. Not sure if it just happened with this or when I updated to 3.0 last night. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

Yeah, there's another thread where you have to change the server for visual voicemail. The file changes it for some people and not others for some reason.

If you go in to settings and look for visual voicemail, if it says wap.cingular.com or something to that nature, you need to change it to acds.cingular. Do a search first, i could be off by a few letters.

just a call....

Just let the iPhone dial into voicemail. Allow the message to go all the way through. Do it one more time.

Visual voice mail returns. Mine took less than five minutes but this has worked for everyone. It needs to kick is is all.

playing is fun....

I wanna play with iPhone 3.0 now =(

This worked and created a "new" network connection on my laptop.
It was seamless after downloaded and installed the at&t file.

Turning on in network settings and hitting tethering on is fun boy.

Tried it via laptop at home with the wifi connection. Just as fast. Have not tried it via just 3g yet. That will be interesting.

Vvm

It may just be a problem with me but I have my old Voicemails on my phone using VVM but I tried to leave myself a new message and it is not coming through on VVM. I called the VM directly to confirm the message was there and it was...

Screenshots or wait for it.....wait for it......wait for it...... IT DIDNT HAPPEN.

Well aren't you Mr. Smarty Pants? Why would this person go to that much trouble photoshopping a tethering screen when dozens of people in this thread also have the same functionality working?

Wow, just followed the link, and tethering works perfectly. 3G speed is pretty fast on the laptop, which goes to show that a lot of the iPhone browser slowdown is hardware based and rendering, not the actual 3G network speed. I'm stoked for the 3G S.

Nothing happened to my Visual Voicemail.

Sending an MMS, and proof that it sent :)

i got the the tethering part all working but... the MMS still wont work. and i did all the steps in every thread i read and copyed what above. still no luck... you really need to call ATT?

WOAH WOAH WOAH, Hold the phone on tethering for a minute, how did you get MMS to work?

i installed some carrier ipcc file i saw floating around on these forums (a post with like 10 pages, i don't remember which), then i went to the site mentioned on the front page of this thread on my iphone, scrolled down to USA --> AT&T. I installed that profile and everything just worked!

MMS worked, i could both sent and recieved (i tested this by sending an MMS to my email address, and then responding).

Tethering worked over bluetooth (i'm on a mac).

I just tested Visual Voicemail by calling my phone from my landline and it still works!

You can see all of my settings in my screen shots.

PS: I'm on AT&T with a family messaging plan (unlimited)

If you followed the links, you don't have to install anything, it installed itself. To check, go into Settings/General and scroll down to see if you see "profile." If so, select it and you should see a profile for AT&T that says "Unsigned" and then has the following Description: AT&T US - BenM.at

Go back to General, scroll up to Network, select, then go down to Internet Tethering, select and make sure it is turned on. Then just hook your iPhone up to your laptop via the same USB cable that you use to sync it to your computer and you should be good to go.

im definately stoked for this! Ill wake up early just to get the official update :D
