yeah id like to see a more direct option, like how you can select multiple photos before you email within email itself, sometimes I start writing an email, then realize i needed to insert a picture, copy and paste would be good in this situation, but i would also like a photo icon similar to mmsRegarding your last point, you can start an email and copy&paste your photos into it as an when you need to.
Some things I would love to see in this update:
- the ability to save an mms video that is recieved
- the ability to cancel a text as it is sending, this was in the early beta in 3.0
- the ability to choose the picture quality size sending an mms video, right now the quality of video being sent stinks
-the ability to directly select media to add to an email, right now you have to select the photos first
settings --> General --> Network --> Cellular Data Network --> MMS
Hi
I've updated to 3.1 on my iPhone 3G 16GB, and I now cannot connect to the Internet using 3G or Edge. Wifi is fine.
I've checked the settings and everything seems ok - anyone having similar problems?
Justin
Why don't you ask this in the iPhone SDK forum from Apple dev?
I'm sure you'll get an answer overthere.
BTW: Have you synced with iTunes after you've updated (disconnect device, restart iTunes, sync)? Anyway, I advise the dev forum for your question!
Greets.
I updated to 3.1 last night and now I cannot access the internet via Safari or email. Very odd.
Ive tried turning off wifi, 3g and even rebooting. Anyone else having this problem?
Did you install a profile for tethering? If so, remove it. Worked for me.
There's a setting to turn on the battery percent on the 3GS. Do you have it turned on?
I just looked through all the settings I could find. From keyboards, to date and time, etc. I could not find an option for it. Where is it located on your phone?
Assuming it isn't a case of simply missing it in the settings just now, I suppose it could be a plist modification which gives you the option (such as the developer menu in older Safari versions which I think is now an official option in the preferences) which might have remained from my Jailbreak as I didn't wipe my phone.
Why is apple calling it 3.1?
As far as I can tell, there are no real new features. Why not call it 3.0.1?
It's under Settings->General-> Usage on the 3GS
+1I wish they would make an application for notifications.. An app that lists all your notifications that u may not have seen or attended to...
My first thought was "Aww, crap. The one place I didn't check!", but there is no option on my 3G phone there. The only button or control of any sort is the reset statistics button.
There is no real reason, How else would the phone know when it's at 20% battery life?
Probably - but why was it added for AT&T customers in 3.1? It's still strange, and I'll be investigating.
This is what I hate about other Apple users - when an upgrade is available and Apple slap existing customers by locking out extremely basic software features, they act like its a hardware thing. We've been using the 3G for a year, and it wasn't so utterly incompetent then. There's an upgrade and suddenly nobody could possibly have done anything on a 3G because it wasn't powerful! You guys should work for the Ministry of Truth.
I'm sure the 2G and 3G can handle it. After all, there's a battery API to get the percentage and the iPhone OS uses percentages internally to choose images and display the 20% warning.
No. Voice control is not a hardware feature. There are so many ways you're wrong.
I got this in pre-3.1 builds while roaming internationally. It was probably added for roaming purposes. If say you come here to Canada, you can choose whether you want to roam on Fido or Rogers.
Have you ever gotten more than one 20% percent warning within a few minutes? I have. I'll be playing a game or something heavy duty and I'll get the warning. I'll stop playing, put the phone in my pocket, take it out a few minutes later and do some browsing or listen to music. A few minutes later I'll get another 20% warning. Same goes for the ten percent warning. The battery meter goes up and down depending on what you're doing. For some reason they believe this is less of a problem on the 3GS.
