My SIM Chip only supports AT&T and AT&T 3G. I'll swap out to a T-Mobile Chip and try it out soon. Don't have one here at work. But it DOES let you choose one... which implies it's the same as the 'international' phones that use T-Mobile here in the states.

This is huge, and might be an oversight on Apple's part. If it's that simple to switch though, I'm skeptical. I'll try it though.

I'm gonna let you know right now, it won't work. I've had that option here in Canada since the 3G was launched and the phones are LOCKED. Putting another carrier sim card in there will give you no service.

Still Strange

Probably - but why was it added for AT&T customers in 3.1? It's still strange, and I'll be investigating.

Not entirely true

i have had it where Rogers signal died out and then I conncected to a telus network, I think I received a message talking about extra charges though

I had no issues with 3.0 and it seems like 3.1 is going to be a very welcome update assuming MMS finially works cuz I don't know abaout anyone else but my apps seem to be launching faster on 3.1 then they did on 3.0 on my 3G

That's different. That's just roaming. You still had your rogers SIM in right? It wouldn't have worked with a Telus SIM.

Not to mention I have had the option to pick other providers before, but now it doesn't show any but Rogers

MMS working still depends on AT&T Support. It works fine in 3.0, and if it didn't work for you in 3.0 this 3.1 won't enable it for you.

More accurately: i had no MMS option in 3.0 on AT&T, and now I do and it;s on by default (but i can't successfully send).

Break tethering

MMS is an option now under messaging, and it break tethering, says contact ATT to enable. That was after i went to the help. site and loaded the profile. Thats all Ive seen so far

Are you kidding me?! Three days after I jailbreak my iPod, they start beta testing for 3.1. I wonder what would happen if I tried installing 3.1 without unjailbreaking.

You lose jailbreak, and have 3.1 beta installed.

NetShare

NetShare anyone? Can't jailbreak and very curious to see if anyone knows if it works.
