I upgraded my unlocked 1st gen 3.0 iphone to 3.1 (yes I'm a registered dev) and itunes says I now have an unsupported sim and I am stuck on the purple screen. Damn. Now what haha

If you live in the US you're unlikely to get it. I have gotten it when roaming in Europe and Middle East even with 2.x.

3.1 beta did not address any of the UI issues. Way to go Apple! Woo! Also, my iPhone 3G feels slower now. Messages takes about 3 seconds to open.

Are you kidding me?! Three days after I jailbreak my iPod, they start beta testing for 3.1. I wonder what would happen if I tried installing 3.1 without unjailbreaking.

I wonder why the Dev team decided to wait till the 3.1 release? lots of people gave them lots of heat. Me thinks they new a release is just around the corner.

I had the same problem, but I just took my AT&T sim and stuck it in. There wasn't even an activation phase it just went through.

I installed 3.1. I'm on AT&T in the Chicagoland area. Don't see the option for carrier or tethering. Just sent out an MMS...it didn't work for me. Sad

Yeh I don't know why they released the phone with A2DP but you can't even skip to the next track b/c of the lack of AVRCP. I hope they add it soon.
