Weird...I have used it successfully through 3.0 beta and GM. You should try again!
Well, now everything feels much much MUCH snappier to me.
MMS & Tethering still working here.
Now sends MMS a lil bit faster.
The black screen lag, when booting up, dissappeared...Now it goes from the apple logo, straight to the keyboard to enter the code.
Still freezing up a bit when scrolling to Spotlight. The page freezes a bit in the middle. Seems to be indexing or something ... cos if you go to the home page and scroll back , it doesnt freeze at all.
I've always had the Carrier menu... Though my Iphone 3G is "factory unlocked" and i'm not on an official carrier.
So far, that's what i noticed... Will keep on playing with it

Carrier selection has been available since 3.0. When I was in the US roaming I was able to select ATT or T-Mobile. Here in Canada I can either select Rogers or automatic.
Everyone who is planning on JBing/Unlocking should wait with updating until we find out that its safe to do so.
3.1 lets you save as when trimming videos
Nice features I know lots of people were asking for.

Just tried again, this time bothered to enter the Subnet Mask (which teh instructions don't state) and voila it worked!
I have read a couple of posts about putting my UDID somewhere. Is there something I need to do first before installing this to my 3GS?
Well I did! I downloaded 3.1 for my 3GS and just did option update and used 3.1. It upgraded to 3.1 and I even rebooted twice with no problems. I know my 3GS is not on the dev site

- Bulgarian keyboard now works fine; it is the BDS, not QWERTY layout. Ideally, both layouts should be there.
- On iPod Touch 2G the Voice Memos app now successfully records audio if you plug your microphone after you have started the application.
