=) :apple: My phone now lets me select my carrier.

I didn't have to change anything. Just popped up with the 3.1 update....

(I have modified my carrier settings by visiting help.benm.at, but otherwise haven't jailbroken or unlocked. This showed up on the iPhone 32 GB 3Gs.)

Well thats HUGE....

Damn, that is my biggest complain with 3.0 on the 3GS.

If you're in the iphone developer program, report this as a bug to apple, bugreporter.apple.com -- they need to hear from lots of folks, maybe the priority for a fix can get moved up

They Know.

The high pitched noise isnt very loud on my phone, its much more annoying on my friends, so it doesnt really bug me. At least they fixed the crappy speaker quality, 50 % aint THAT bad... well maybe it is.

To get your ipod working just sync the phone again after you update and it should update the library.

Anybody notice anything else different in the beta?

Hope 3.1 comes out soon - 3.0 is to buggy.

This on my 3G. While 3.0 is a huge improvement it brought along a lot of bugs. These need to be ironed out pronto.

Since this is a xx.1 update I'm wondering what the new APIs are. Feedback on that would nice. I don't have need for them as mich as I have need for the bug fixes though.

I did that a couple months back and I'm on a regular plan now. I had MMS working for a day during the beta period but not since then. I guess I'll just have to wait till AT&T decides to get there act together.

how do you do this i am the only one on my plan wit texting so how would i change to a regular texting plan without adding everyone to a texting plan

Does selecting the field allow any other carrier options/selections?

Downloading 3.1 for the 3G S, 3G, and iPod Touch 1st gen. Cant wait to give this a run. It should be a lot less painful than beta testing early 3.0 :)

My SIM Chip only supports AT&T and AT&T 3G. I'll swap out to a T-Mobile Chip and try it out soon. Don't have one here at work. But it DOES let you choose one... which implies it's the same as the 'international' phones that use T-Mobile here in the states.

This is huge, and might be an oversight on Apple's part. If it's that simple to switch though, I'm skeptical. I'll try it though.

I called AT&T and told them to switch me to a regular texting plan. Had to talk to 3 reps tho and was on the phone for over an hour so good luck. AT&T reps are super dumb.

trust me i know ther dumb they killed my vv during 3.0 update took them an hour to get it back on wtf att i hate att

I updated from 3.0 on my 16gig 3GS but I don't have that...

Are you kidding me?! Three days after I jailbreak my iPod, they start beta testing for 3.1. I wonder what would happen if I tried installing 3.1 without unjailbreaking.

Did they add the battery percentage remaining icon for the devices other than the 3GS?

Not on the iPhone 3G uncertain about iPod's, and even though I can't see it being hardware dependent I think they will just use it for their new models. More things it has over the older models the better it seems to be.
