Personally I think the Note 8 is the all around better smartphone than the iPhone X.

You made a good choice.
I agree 100%. You know, I really started hating everything that Apple is doing with the iPhone several months ago when they said that Apps such as Adguard that block ads in apps using VPNs would no longer be allowed in the app store. No one should be able to tell me what I am able to run on a phone that cost me just over $1000 after taxes as my 6S+ did 1.5 years ago.

I've spent the last two hours setting up my Note 8 and it's just simply an outstanding device. I have Adguard running blocking ads in apps and the phone is fast as lightning with it's 6GB RAM (iPhone still only has 3).

I'm going to try to swing by a store to get hands on the Note 8. No intention to buy!

Just as a tech lover, I want to get a feel for it. :)

Held out until the keynote to decide whether to go the iPhone X route or Note 8. After the pricing, notch at the top and no touch Id, I've gone the N8 route. I just feel apple have got to the point where they are taking the pi$$ out if its customers. Just had my N8 today and I think it will take some beating!

I've come from a S8+ so not a huge upgrade but I think it's enough of one to justify as I've now discovered the wonders of the S Pen! As for this constant nonsense of lag on the S8's etc I can tell you from from personal experience (not reading about it online!) mine runs as smooth as the day I unboxed it back in April. If anything I've had more issues with lags and stutters on my iPad mini 4!

If it didn't have to fit in my pocket, I'd consider the Note over the S8. The upgrade in camera alone seems worth the money.

Here's three phones side by side. Note 8, S8+ and a S7 Edge, all in Otterbox Defender cases. I'm keeping all three phones because I have three unlimited everything lines on T-Mobile for $100.

Wow, the note 8 sure is Mr tommy Tall when you see it like that, funny everyone was bagging the bezels on the plus iPhones making it tall, note 8 is taller again, yeah before its said screen is bigger but its narrow too, if you like that ratio.

I have settled on 4.7" as my preferred screen/phone size or if they ever make a 4.7" in a SE size body :)

Not sure about going back to plus/note or even the X is bigger/heavier than what i would want/need, Note 8 hanging out your back pocket will look ridiculous and would be so uncomfortable to carry around i imagine? Or in the front pocket it would stab you in the stomach lol.

Each to their own though.

This is why I am holding onto all three phones. The Note 8 is huge and I have mine in an OtterBox case so that adds even more bulk BUT it still slides into my pocket with no problem.

I bought the OtterBox case because I was in a car accident this past June and I had my Note 5 with me in it's OtterBox case. The phone went flying in the car when I got rear ended that day in June. The S Pen came out and ended up under the passenger front seat. The case protected the phone perfectly so I will always use OtterBox cases.

Unfortunately, the display models in stores will not allows you the freedom to try and put the phone in your pocket to test out the fit but you should have no problem sliding it in your jeans or work slacks pocket.

The Note8 and iPhone pluses are actually the same height including bezels and all. I compared them before I sent my iPhone back for trade-in.

Here is a 6S+ next to the Note 8. The Note 8 is a monster compared to the plus. Take away the cases and the 8 is still much larger.

Oh yes! 100%. The car was totaled and now I have a much better car! I was just a little sore for the rest of that day from the impact and the lady had insurance and my wrecked car was 100% paid for after the accident.

Good to hear you're better.

Great Phone but it is blown out of the water by IPhone X processor. Iphone X has 4k at 60fps (note doesnt), has more features with the camera and superior speakers to Note 8. Where the Note 8 excels is with its screen S Pen (but only works with Samsung apps?) and slightly better spec phone. All in all, both are great phones and is down to individuals which suit their needs.

The S pen works in all apps. I agree about the processer but not the camera. The Note 8 has a featured packed camera. It has a lot more features than the iPhone X.
