Yeah Radon, are you a professional photographer?
Oh well, that ends the arguments now, the iphone is best because s professional photographer took some nice pictures with an 8 plus.
How dare you even try to have an opinion, this is Apple we are talking about here, this is a professional phone for people who have better things to do than argue on the alternative to is forums.
Okay? Do you feel humbled now?
I mean this guy does work for Apple, is featured in Time magazine and of course, has no agenda, no Apple bias at all.....
:D;)

You know it's funny when Android users talk about benchmarks, iOS users say it's all a spec sheet and benchmarks don't mean anything as much as the actual experience. Now we have iOS users yelling geekbench scores and dxomark scores from the rooftops and suddenemly benchmarks and professional testing matters.iPhone 8 also has the same saturated pics as Galaxies which iOS users criticised but now don't bat an eye at.

Just wait for the blind tests. If they do well in the blind test, like they usually dont, then I'll be impressed.
Actually, I am impressed with the 8plus camera and the 7 but I don't think they are necessarily the best.

People post with agenda when it comes to Apple,vs android sadly. That won’t change

People will always try and justify their purchase

Yeah, you can hardly say either cameras are bad, some shots look better than the other in different circumstances.
At the end of the day, both cameras are great!

Is someone who is looking at an iPhone 8 considering a Note8 and vice versa? I just feel like these devices are so different. If the Note8 benefits are not what you need then may as well get a iPhone 8 or S8.

Gotta be in it to win it
The 8 camera doesn’t even have OIS in the second lens. Apple didn’t even try to entice 7 Plus users with this phone.
It’s still a substantial upgrade for me overall.

iOS users always shouted geekbench. That’s because apple soc designs excel. And iOS users always refered to dxo. What has been said which you conveniently left out is how Apple manages to get such a fast operating system with “less specs” and how Apple Photos always seem to appear more natural looking despite lower dxo scores.

Nice spin on it though.

I am considering either iPhone X or Note 8. I just want the best bezelless oled device out there and it's between these 2. The Note 8 entices me with the sheer amount of useful features and the display will probably destroy the iPhone x display. The iPhone X has a much smaller screen but I like the fact that it gets day 1 updates and iOS works better with my AW and iPad. The Note 8mis effectively $300 cheaper for me.

For someone who has so many Apple products you sure like bagging them, guess you don't talk with your wallet ;)

let me know when your AW works with the Note 8 :)

+1 to this. Just visited this thread after a few days and wow, it went from having a decent discussion to random bashing in between some of the comments.

I wouldn't have considered the Note 8 had Apple not overpriced their phone. I know where this is going. The 699 iPhone lineup is going to get incremental updates from hereon in and I will have to spend $1100 every year if I want real updates. This is why I am considering breaking my ecosystem.

OTOH Galaxy Note X coming next year is coming with a bendable screen so staying with the Note lineup may get me more benefits in the long term. Still haven't made my mind though, just pondering things.

If I get the Note 8, I am keeping my 7 Plus as I am getting it cheaper and it includes a wireless charger and a fast charger free and 256GB storage for 950. Effectively the iPhone X if I add in all these extras will cost 300 more for which I would have to trade in my 7 Plus.

Oh yeah and Apple Watch and iPad don’t have any competent Android alternative so there’s no choice apart from Apple there.

IOS 11 has just about killed my iPad Air......it stutters now and lags a great deal. I wish I could roll it back!

The ability not to roll back is the reason I don't own iStuff any more. iOS 7 made my iPhone 4 frustratingly bad and even though I saved the blob before updating I couldn't roll back. I will no longer purchase anything I do not have control over.

My concern is also gaming performance between the two. Because I have a 6s plus and just recently picked up my note 8, the note 8 beats it in every category EXCEPT gaming... My 2 year old 6s plus still runs games smoother than this phone. This is where I'm really torn since I'm on the road a lot with my job, mobile gaming is fairly big for me

I was able to roll it back with a little help

https://ipsw.me/#!/download
Apple would still need to sign the iOS version you want roll back to. I think they are still signing iOS 10.3.3, but not anything previous to that. If they would allow us roll back to any previous iOS versions, that would make a lot of jailbreakers extremely happy. I would love to get my untethered jailbreak back.

At the end of the day this whole thread has such an easy answer. Do you like iOS or Android. If your answer is iOS grab the iPhone 8, if its Android grab the Note 8. Easy.
or....just grab both

I think you have ordered the note 8 by the 30th of September in the US to get those freebies.
