Did you see the entire video? The guy did a WiFi test using Speedtest? Did you see the games load?

I see that now. I didn't need to watch the whole thing because I saw enough. So it has more antennas for the wifi I assume. Still slower than the Note 8 cellular....probably slower than it's wifi too.

Even my 6s does better than that on WiFi.

Ran speed tests on my MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPad Mini 4, Galaxy S8+, iPhone 7+ and iPhone 8+.

Differences were negligible. I don't think it's worth worrying about.

The WiFi on the note 8 and iPhone are on par with each other. Other videos show the note 8 winning in wifi by a small amount so this will vary based on your data speed and internet provider. Also I wouldn't be comparing the note 8 to a iPhone 7. The comparisons of the note 8 against the iPhone 8 plus show how optimized the note 8 really is. It outpaces the new iPhone in ram management, wifi speed although nearly a tie, camera quality, and application loads.

If there is one thing I can say regarding the Note 8 is that the display blows all iPhone displays out of the water. Even the X’s max brightness doesn’t come close to the Note 8.

I really really want a stock Android phone or an iOS phone with that display. It would be The perfect phone.

The ram management aspect will be short lived as apple tunes IOS 11. It's obvious the same operating system operating differently on the iphone 7 and the iphone 8 means that apple has some stuff going on under the covers that's inherently different between the two phones. As far as camera quality, ymmv and application loads are a function of the tweaking that apple has yet to do.

With 3 variants of iOS , one for iPhone X, another for iPad and another for the lcd iPhones, iOS has lost its shine. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was never fixed. Apple’s finally realised the problem of having too many SKUs

When Apple's honour is at stake, the results are clearly a worry for some in here to come to this forum when they aren't even interested in this OS.
That is one of the best lines you’ve every posted. Looking for my thumbs up emoji. Especially in anthread comparing the two phones.

But you are correct in the bigger sense a lot of “pride” seems to be at stake for both sides.

It would be a start if you admitted flushing all apps from memory is not a normal occurrence because it isn't.

What would be a start is if you admitted this is most likely teething issues with a new architecture and new software and for the most part this would not affect most users in a day to day basis.

What do you mean by a new architecture? It’s just another chip like the A10 Fusion with more cores. If you are implying it’s thanks to the Bionic moniker, Apple has already confirmed they have it that name because they wanted an exciting name for it.

Didn’t iPhone pride itself on memory management or so you guys claimed? What happened to all that?

iPhone 8 Plus - no brainer.

At the very least, you don't want to deal with a Google Play store that has infected many devices: http://www.techrepublic.com/article...ore-security-could-have-infected-4-2-devices/

iPhone is rock-solid with the best ecosystem & hardware, and I have felt no compelling reason to deviate from it for 8 years now. Especially when I hear my Android friends talk about staying home to redo their phones and having to manage memory for spiraling-out-of-control processes.

What do you mean it’s just another chip? Haven’t you been following what is being said about the a11 chip and the subtle changes that may be coming in iOS 11.

“You guys”? Are you personally worried for Apple. I guess beating/destroying the note 8 in games is not enough. I guarantee that when the iPhone x is released about the only thing left to discuss will be “the screen”. Btw don’t you find it amusing that iOS beats an android phone with twice the memory?

Yeah. As if the App Store hasn’t been bypassed with infected apps before

I think you are talking about Android from 2011 because 2017 devices have none of hers issues you mentioned.

Never had an issue with android other than bad apps which is rare. But quick and easy to fix. I've owned both and like both. But the note 8 is a no Brainer to get the most for my money.

IOS does not beat a phone with twice the memory.

I find it even more amusing that an Android Phone with half the CPU grunt is beating an iOS device in launching apps.

Yes I am ready to put $400 more for just the screen, it’s that important to me. The screen is the phone

Well choosing a model based on your own requirements is as it should be. But if your valid personal speed benchmark use case is opening apps, can’t dispute your requirements.

I do hope you realize that lead is going to be short lived, unlike Samsung, Apple will roll out a few updates in the coming weeks to better utilize the new cpu. History speaks for itself, Android is great for customizing the experience, pure speed has always gone to iOS, really don’t see that changing anytime soon. The fact that the 7 Plus was out doing it shows they just need to work out a few kinks. Happens to every new phone

Lol, iPhones can deal with ransom-wear, infected apps, etc. As simplified as it is, iOS is not impervious to software issues nor completely idiot proof. Best ecosystem? It's tied into Apple related stuff first and foremost. I rather have an OS that is agnostic and works with everything. Where can I use an aux cable with any of the last two gens of iPhones (including current)? I need to get some extra peripherals to make that happen like including a lightning to audio jack to connect with an AUX cable.

When I think best hardware, it makes me say I really need a 750p LCD panel on a $700 phone or 1080p LCD panel on a $800 phone. I also think about having amazingly huge bezels. Protruding dual cameras are also a must have.
