but to be honest just about everything we talk about here is anecdotal then....
Google "iOS 11 is a bug filled mess" and you will find there are a lot of people having the same issues. Websites giving directions on workarounds. Then IOS 11.01 was released quickly to alleviate some of the issues.
The issues are real no matter if they are anecdotal beacsure they are people's experiences.

Correct, the issues are real if you're experiencing them. That's different than insisting that the OS as a whole and everyone's experience with it is equal to yours. I try not to discuss any of my own experiences within the context of speaking for anyone but myself. I also try not to make damning statements about an entire platform based on my own experiences.

Have you used iOS 10.3.3?

I've used every iOS since the first iPhone when it wasn't called 'iOS".

Arguing doesn't matter in the end for me anyway. It's definitely one of the worst experiences I have ever had had and that including the older versions of Android I have used but it's just 23 days to go before I get rid of the problem. Looking at the state of affairs I doubt it will ever be fixed but I have no doubt it will be perfect on the X as it will just brute force through all the inefficiencies so no sense in taking his argument for pages on end.

Certainly seemed hellbent in proving you and a “vast” number of unspecified people are having issues.

At any rate I hope Apple addresses “your” issues with 11.1.
Obviously a vast number of,people unless you are implying all those articles were written based on my sole input.

Apart from an average improvement in battery life 11.1 hasn't improved a thing for me but it doesn't matter because I know the X won't have these issues.

Define vast? Hundreds? Thousands? Millions? Tens of millions? Or it could be some people are experiencing some issues, without Aggrandizing or creating a straw man.
Definitely an amount which is enough to say its a crap release.

And this is the key to all of it. It doesn't really matter what anyone else is experiencing. My great 8 Plus experience doesn't do a thing for you.

This thread is still going!? Give it a break.
The tests have been done, the iPhone's did a great job in benchmarks that didn't translate to real world where the Note8 obliterated the iPhone, it's done and dusted.

This is more an Android vs other Androids thing now, as it always should have been

The real fight is Note8 vs. LG V30 vs. Pixel 2 XL.

I own both. This is an incorrect statement.

Got another update today to fix more bugs in IOS 11
So it seems some of these issues aren't just anecdotal.....
Today's update addresses bugs that have been discovered following the release of iOS 11. According to Apple's release notes, the update fixes an issue that caused some iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 users to hear a crackling or static noise coming from the earpiece during phone calls and FaceTime calls.

Is there anyone that actually wants to discuss iPhone 8 vs. Note 8 in this thread? The mods asked to get back on topic, yet it had zero impact. I just went through this decision and sided with the Note 8 from a 6S+ and so far so good. Anyone else just made such a change after considering the iPhone 8?

I have an iPhone 7 Plus Jet Black, An S8 and just went out and purchased the Note 8. The Note 8 is outstanding but I cannot being myself to make the switch from the iPhone.

I am semi excited for the 10 and always wanted an S6+ running iOS.

Help! I can’t keep the S8 if I want the Note 8.

What do I do? Love the S pen and he browsing capabilities and that screen!

Why can't you switch from iPhone? What is holding you back? Do you actually use both ecosystems on a daily basis, or do you go back and forth at different periods. Outside of a terrible 6 month stint with a Galaxy S5, I've been all iPhone since the 3G. Prior to that I went back and forth a few times with different PDAPhone platforms.

Cool in depth video, the presenter does try to oversell it to be honest and just makes face ID seem awkward???

Apple had 10 minders hovering all over anyone touching an X. Most of the hands on were a little awkward as a result. No one had any private time with it to really dig in.

This guy is the only one who got a comprehensive hands on. The only video I liked. He actually got some private time with it.

Which is the more smoother experience between an 8 Plus and the Note 8 for you? Not talking load times. Just the general feel of the phone while scrolling around and such. The last I used Android on my personal devices was when I had a Nexus 7 2013 and webpages stuttered terribly when scrolling down.

I thought you had an S7 edge last year?

8 Plus. Definitely. The Note is fluid but the best way I can describe the difference is it still feels like it “lurches” from movement to movement vs the 8 Plus “gliding”.

Pixel XL is the only Android phone I’ve ever owned that I would describe as iOS smooth.

You think that the animations might have something to do with the differences? Shortening them in developer mode might help.
