Where would they get 50 Mil display panels that meet their specs? LG has proven they cannot meet those numbers and specs.
Not quite....the TMSC chip outperformed the Samsung chip....that switch was a no brainer.
About the memory chips.....Samsung still leads the sector in performance and availability.
Toshiba simply cannot compete with the performance and quantity Samsung can produce in NAND flash chips.
I have both an iPhone 8 Plus and a Note 8....side by side the Note 8 display is a lot better imho
Apple already secured 70 million displays for the iPhone x. By next year lg oled e6 plant will be online, and by 2019 japan display will have their oled plant up and running.
Same thing was said about Samsung’s soc. But that wasn’t true and tsmc secured exclusive a10 and a11 orders while Samsung was given the boot.
If they mess up with the iPhone x they will be off the supply chain for displays within the next two years just like what happened with the processors.
Given Samsung mobiles shrinking revenue, Samsung semiconductor and display are now the bulk of Samsung’s revenue going forward. They are not in a rentable position to lose its place on the Apple supply chain.
Regarding nand chips thats simply not true.
Toshiba and si Hynix have been supplying iPhones with NAND chips for a very long time. In fact Toshiba is the second largest manufacturer behind Samsung. And Apple just secured Toshiba as a supplier with a 2 billion dollar check. However Seagate, Kingston and Dell also contributed to the acquisition, also securing their share, and lessening their reliance on Samsung as a NAND supplier.
After the Samsung S7 edge duo I just can’t handle Samsung’s edge screen, especially in landscape or typing on the keyboard. a stylus won’t make a difference to me.
Regarding the note 8, speakers are rubbish.
I prefer the iPhone 8 plus. But we each use our phones differently. Maybe the s9 will have dual speakers or the note 9.
