Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
And there you have it. You can go back and read my posts now.

As I said, 64gb for the base model and it wouldn't go over $1000. Now I won't spoil things and tell you what the T-Mobile promo pricing will be for the new iPhones. But as I said before, it won't necessarily be the same price as Verizon or ATT.

Thanks for playing.

Sales in the U.K., don't mean a whole lot in terms of overall sales. Hell, California spends more on Apple products by itself than the whole of the U.K. And Ireland combined.

I couldn't care less about T Mobile pricing, you don't even exist in the UK... and I am right about sales and yes UK sales DO matter, it's naive to claim they don't.
Analysts anyway are predicting sales lower then the iPhone 6:

If you use the pen , get the note 8 . if not is not worth it over Apple iphone.

the good thing about Samsung that they drop the price after few months unlike Apple. expect the Note 8 to be at least $100 less in few weeks.

Everything about the Note 8 is better over the X. Not just the SPEN. It is worth it.

LOL. 'Now' you claim not to care.

So far, everything you have said has been wrong. And while its nice for Apple to have additional sales in the UK, its a tiny market. Like i said, California alone dwarfs the UK in sales.

It's not the first time, nor will it be the last time, there was a glitch/failure during the keynote. My guess is they were using pre-production hardware and software.

Even if it was a failure, it is not a good look because people expect Apple to be one of the best with presentations. I still feel that Face ID is too slow for my tastes but that's probably because Apple is pushing the secure route rather than the instantaneous route.

T-Mobile's promo seems to be $300 off the iPhone X with a trade in. Not bad if $300 is given to a SE, but not worth it for me either because I am paying $775 before taxes to get parity with the Note 8 and that's ignoring stark differences like a S-Pens, a 6.3" 1440p display, etc.

Steve Jobs has the infamous WiFi failure during the iphone 4 reveal and there were probably others. Personally that glitch didn’t bother me, nor did I think it was a reflection on the product. Ymmv. How face id turns out we will see.

I want it to succeed to generate better competition since it forces Samsung to do better biometrics. However, speed is going to be important in reviews. Twitter had fun with it probably.

Not quite. Read the display on the iPhone X.

When the iPhone is first powered on it requires the passcode first before biometrics is enabled.

This is the same on current devices featuring Touch ID.

This was a presentation set up error, not a product demo error.

Here is how that screen looks with Touch ID:

May not be as simple as a demo error. See how BGR explains this error.

What I always disliked about iOS, is that it randomly asks for a password to enable using biometrics. Usually when on stand-by for awhile, sometimes even when active. And always at the worst times. This is most likely what happened at the presentation.

Android phones only require that when the device is restarted.

BGR is looking for clicks. Mind you've I've said more than once I think replacing Touch ID with Face ID was a mistake when this rumor first dropped, so I would love the victory lap, but it doesn't apply here.

  1. The iPhone X says "Swipe up to unlock" above the gesture bar on the bottom of the screen.
  2. Craig tries to unlock the iPhone X with a swipe up gesture and gets a bounce animation which means you can scroll no further in iPhones.
  3. Immediately he gets prompted with "Your passcode is required to enable Face ID"

If the biometric failed it would have said "try again" and the lock would have jittered from left to right indicating the biometric unlock was not recognized. The same lock jitter from left to right is present when passcode failure takes place.

I'm running GM iOS 11 on my iPhone 7+, and this is the current behavior for security and biometrics, and it's unlikely to be any different in iOS 11 on iPhone X.

iPhone X only 625 nits is lower than the iP7+ at 672 nits. That's still pretty good. But only half the brightness of the Note 8 1200 nits.

I imagine FaceID will work fine. The Iris scanner on my s8+(even with glasses), works incredibly well and consistently. FaceID is probably better. It should be, it the newer tech.

But I don't see how it will ever, ever be as convenient. It will make it more difficult to check your phone in bed, in the middle of the night. The one thing I think it will effect most is when people try and check their phone discretely at work, a meetings etc. You will have to default back to the passcode.

Honestly, I think FaceID may have even been a planned feature from the start. But I think apple would of preferred to incorporate an inscreen fingerprint scanner as well.

I imagine we will see a comeback of touchid, and FaceID will continue to exist as well.

I am getting a note 8. I am more excited by the note 8 then what I saw at the keynote yesterday. On top of that, and $425 note 7 owners offer essentially makes my phone cost $525 or so. Compared to $999, it's an easy choice. But if I were getting an iPhone, I'd have a tough problem deciding between the 8 plus and the X, with a slight preference for the 8 plus

We can speculate but we’ll never know for sure. We’ll see how this pans out with face id. Would be a huge failure on apples part of this didn’t work. My guess the glitches will mostly be resolved by launch.

No, BGR is right. Stop making excuses for Apple. The Face ID failed and it will fail a lot more once people get it.
