It's pretty amazing we have a bunch of people would would rather be stranded and possibly die in the wilderness than to join service to save their live simply because one person is involved at a distance with the company.
Amazing when you think about it.

Anyone that actually helped clean out those camps would have some strong words to say to someone labeling another a Nazi so casually and for something so insignificant.
I know this because my grandfather was one of those soldiers, and this very thing was a MASSIVE pet peeve of his.
And by “strong words,” I mean something I can’t describe in this forum without getting at least a warning, so in perpetuity and in his memory may I suggest not labeling something as evil until you’ve actually been surrounded by the sight and smell of true evil, not just a complete stranger you have an ideological difference with.
I think your grandad would be heart broken to read this.

He would have known that Hitler came to power precisely because he was charming, convincing, focused and enigmatic. He promised to Make Germany Great Again. He did this by pointing at immigrants and the poorest in society, blaming them for the woes of the rest of the country.

He did not come to power wearing army boots, carrying rifles, screaming wildly and promising to carry out a European genocide.

Instead he kept pointing at immigrants whilst amassing and centralising power for himself. In 1933 the Reichstag gave him the powers of a dictator, creating 12 years of the Hitler we remember.

In the US you should be ok. Trump will try hard like the solipsist he is, but he will never, we hope, get control of two thirds of each of the houses. If he ever does he will change your constitution, then you’ll be lost as a country for a while.

Fascists centralise power. It’s what drives them.

Claiming musk is a Nazi is actually pretty insulting to those that fought actual, for real Nazis 80 years ago.
Enough!

If anything Musk is a John Galt.
The man who had to travel to Israel to apologize for his openly anti-Semitic tweets?

The man who openly engages with and retweets posts by Twitter accounts that promote race theory, accounts banned for promoting racism that he restored after buying Twitter?

The man who gleefully spoke at a recent AfD event, Germany's ultra far-right party?

He's not a Nazi?

Then I have to ask, what do you think the Nazi's values were, what ideas did they promote, what solutions and laws where going to fix all of Germany's problems and Make GermAny Great Again?

Elon Musk supports a literal neo-fascism movement known as the "Dark Englightenment." That's why he wore a black MAGA hat at a Trump rally, where he also referred to himself as "Dark MAGA," which were both nods to the Dark Enlightenment.

The Wikipedia page on "Dark Enligtentment" categorizes it as "neo-fascism":

The Dark Enlightenment movement was co-founded by Curtis Yarvin. The Wikipedia page on "Curtis Yarvin" says:
Yarvin has influenced some prominent Silicon Valley investors and Republican politicians, with venture capitalist Peter Thiel described as his "most important connection".[12] Political strategist Steve Bannon has read and admired his work.[13] Vice President JD Vance has cited Yarvin as an influence.[14][15][16] The Director of Policy Planning during Trump's second presidency, Michael Anton, has also discussed Yarvin's ideas.[17] In January 2025, Yarvin attended a Trump inaugural gala in Washington; Politico reported he was "an informal guest of honor" due to his "outsize influence over the Trumpian right."[18]

Read this article carefully...it is targeting off the grid users by luring with free to use deals. Bringing them back to the grid.

jesus christ folks, this is not what apple does with iphone14/15/16. nor is this not some mmWave satellite transmission, like starlink. this is regular cellular service, where the base station is strapped to a satellite. and there's only just a handful of those in orbit. the earlier versions of starlink satellites are not capable of this. calm down.

I wanna see how fast the internet data part of this will be. We already have the text messaging part of this with Apple 🍎

No. Not that at all, don't get it twisted.
If I need internet access and I have a choice of slow and maybe slightly spotty AOL, (as a crappy example), or quick and solid, (but well expensive and scummy), Starlink and it's not life and death or critical that I have to have 100% uptime then I'll make the sacrifice and go with AOL.

Not amazing whatsoever. Have just decided that I do actually have principles.

Oh for crying out loud. I don’t plan on getting this service and don’t have a Tesla. But calling people Nazis does a severe disservice to people who actually suffered, were terrorized, and mercilessly executed by the actual Nazis.
Hitler salute, putting people into camps...
When did this happen? Originally texting wasn’t available. It should be noted, it’s only provided free of charge for the first 2 years.
iOS 18. Maybe 18.1? You can initiate sending text messages to any other cellphone now.

I currently live out in a very rural area in Montana and it would be very good because I have no cell phone service for 5 miles around me. However, there is a T-Mobile cell phone towers about 10 miles away and it’s excellent. This would fill the gaps and nicely. I live in a mountainous area with steep canyons/ rock cliffs and nobody has service from any provider.

I own a Tesla.
I do not like Nazi-saluting Elon. F Elon, in fact.
I like Starlink tho 😜

Fact: the first thing Nazis did when they got into power was to look for ways to cut government waste. Cutting the scope, size, and cost of government is totally Nazism.

The second best way to fight Nazis, after posting emotional TikTok videos, is to deny yourself technological improvements. And make sure you don’t just pass them up quietly; you have to let everyone know you’ll do without, thankyouverymuch. Otherwise, the Nazis win.

It’s sad that these discussions are primarily anti Elon.

Take the man out of the equation and this technology is game changing. Living in an underserved area for both cellular and data. Technologies like this open many opportunities that never existed before. It can also prove to be lifesaving if you’re without cellular coverage.

I’m glad companies like Space X and Tesla exist. They drive innovation and competition. Amazons Project Kuiper and others are years behind Starlink.

Apple should rethink its partnership with Globalstar if they want to be the leader this this area.

yeah one of the highest profile people in the world doing the nazi salute in front of a global audience at the presidential inauguration and steadfastedly refusing to say that it wasn't a nazi salute means... *checks notes* that it was in fact a nazi salute

Smh I trust Bibi Netanyahu more about who Musk is rather than some bros on the Internet. He is a PM of Israel after all and he is always against any antisemitism.
FYI...Netanyahu and his government funded Hamas.

They're not cutting waste. In fact, they don't have the Constitutional authority to cut any funding that was approved by Congress and signed into law. Congress has the power of the purse not the executive branch. If you were alive when Barack Obama was president you would have heard Republicans in Congress repeating that over and over again.

At some point, in a capitalist society, one has to put their dollars where their values are

In 2019, when I was shopping my first EV, Elons actions (already at that point!) are what specifically eliminated Tesla for me. As it turns out, I also like more normal cars that just happen to be electric.

A "Nazi" can be defined by their behavior or the company they keep, or their bent towards authoritarian regime in which the egoist controls the economic winners and losers, as well as suppressing civil rights and ethnic cleansing.
