This was how my screen was like:

The non uniformity was visible on any apps with a dark background, and even occasionally while watching videos.

I made a Genius Bar appointment and showed them pictures/video I took of the screen and they instantly replaced the phone for me. My new phone still has very slight uniformity problem (only if you are really looking for it) but nowhere near as bad as my original one, I am keeping it!

Anyone experiencing a slightly more warm (color temp) in the upper right quadrant of the iPhone x? It is ever so slight on mine, and more and less noticeable on some light/white,grey backgrounds. It also seem variable. At times very visible and at others not. I am wondering if this has anything to do with heat inside the iPhone itself. It so happens that the warmer area corresponds to the quadrant where there is no battery. Havebt been to an apple store to compare to other models and not sure it is worth trading and risking worse.

Could you show us the same photo again but with the new phone, please?

I like this example as its a real world app that could bother you if you notice screen oddness. This is where I first noticed some banding, and would be more convinced that this could be a problem rather than the 5% gray, which is ideal in demonstrating the uniformity of the screen, but is not a real life scenario for most people. Here is my clock app at around 50%, quite a bit of horizontal banding and a reddish area towards the top left is still visible as it was in 5%, but would a replacement help? Seems like it is more of a lottery than usual.

I had my first one replaced which looked like this: https://imgur.com/a/QN1Jl/

The red → green was very noticeable using dark mode in apps such as Tweetbot, Apollo, Reeder, etc.

My second panel (https://imgur.com/a/Z9dzX) isn't as bad in terms of noticeable discolouration, however I can still tell the top-left side is brighter while using those apps... I'm honestly not sure whether or not I'm going to play AMOLED-lottery for a third time.

Your first one looks quite bad, the second one isn't really much better than mine in terms of the reddish looking spread there, maybe this is normal.

Here’s mine. Even though I have OCD this is perfectly acceptable as I have had a lot worse. Whites are 100% perfect.

Both my Samsung S8+ units have been much worse.

What image are you using for the solid color when testing?

You won’t see it unless it’s solid color. Try using the picture above fullscreen.

I recommend you guys trying to get a replacement. My replacement doesn’t have the problem! I think I got lucky, since there is always the chance that the replacement phone has the same problem or worse.

I’m tempted to replace but worried that I will get one that is worse or has another issue. Also don’t want a model number that represents a white box as opposed to a new box.

Mine has gotten worse since last posting. It’s not inconsistently light with the bottom of the screen being significantly darker than the top.

The apple lottery. Always nerve wracking.

It's worse too because my co-workers are getting their iPhone X's over the week and each time they get it we check the display and its perfect :( I'm probably going to get it replaced for a second time.

If I were in the states with such a liberal 14 day return policy. i'd take advantage of it until I got a perfect one.

I wonder if they'd let me just sit in the Apple store and keep setting up new phones inside a dark room until I got one thats perfect lol

How does mine look ?
