If you’ve been on the forum long enough, you’ve surely seen me criticize Apple. But the onslaught of “iPhone 15 this and that” with the threads about disappointment get tiring. Don’t like it, return it. We don’t need to know about it, and you (not you in particular) don’t need validation about your disappointment. I think the 15 Pro Max is a wonderful upgrade depending on what you want. For many people complaining here, they don’t think the new iPhone is worth it, and they have a 14 Pro or Pro Max. Well duh, of course it’s not a big change. And for the vast majority of us, our phones aren’t defective, aren’t overheating, aren’t slow with connection, and are enjoyable to use.

"We don't need to know about it?"

Isn't that why we are here? To talk about Apple stuff?

Yeah, until Apple posts a fix to address heat problems that don't exist.

As for the "vast majority"...until Apple posts a fix to address the heat issues that don't exist.

Would really stink if in the process of software fixing the heat issue that it would make it less powerful than the chip in the non pro.

I don't think they will do that. The gaming stuff is a big deal to Apple.

I mean, some of us wants to make sure before upgrading. If most of these phones are causing the same issues for every user, then it's clearly a manufacturing problem and something that needs to be addressed like the bendgate. I want to upgrade and I think it'll be a massive improvement from my XR, but not before issues like the overheating are resolved or at least Apple announces something, because I think it does need something addressing at the very least.

That's why one of my other comments was asking others if they are experiencing the same issues as a few others are, because it is a manufacturing problem or something else if its a 50/50 with half of 15 pro users experiencing the same issue and half of them are fine.

I'm not complaining. I'm just concerned because most phones pre 15 never had any major issues when they were released, and I'm planning to switch over.

Yes, I am thinking of returning this. I find the screen harder to read compared to my iPhone 13 Pro . my eyes are squinting - It was much easier to read and more crisp on my iPhone 13 Pro compared to my new iPhone 15 Pro. I have swapped between the devices multiple times today and can confirm this.

It exists. All over the news. Blogs. Apple stores taking about it also - just my view 😀😀

Does Apple need to do something about cooling these things down? Yes.

So that said, I am a heavy user, on Sunday I had this thing going all day, nonstop use, charging, you name it, never experienced anything I’d consider overheating.

I received my iPhone 15 Pro yesterday, and I find myself on the verge of returning it. At first glance, it appears to be in perfect condition with no discernible flaws. However, I currently own an iPhone XS, and in my everyday usage, I'm struggling to identify any significant differences between the two. While the camera is undoubtedly an improvement, and there have been various enhancements, nothing truly sets the iPhone 15 Pro apart from its predecessor. Whether I'm browsing the web or using applications, the overall experience feels remarkably similar.

As I ponder whether to keep the iPhone 15 Pro, I can't help but question its value. It's undeniably a well-crafted device, as all iPhones have been in the past, but I can't say that I'm particularly enamored with most of the new features, such as the dynamic island. Given the substantial price tag of 1329€, I had envisioned a more dramatic shift in the user experience when transitioning from the XS to this new model.

I'm not a big fan of the 15P but I'm surprised you're not seeing major differences coming from a XS. As you noted, camera is a pretty significant improvement. Also, battery life should be considerably better (not just because your XS battery capacity has been reduced from use over time), the size of the notch on the XS compared to the pill cutout, screen refresh rate, speed generally, speaker quality, etc.

If all you do on your phone is very basic things like voice calls and reading the news, then maybe the changes wouldn't matter as much to you. Would be good to know what you were expecting from the 15P when you bought it.

I love my 15 pro, i suppose the overheating problem can be solved with a software update, even if it will probably mean limitations on the processor.

I hope Apple addresses it soon.

I use both an iPhone 14 pro max and an xs max (work phone) daily. For normal browsing and texting there really is hardly any noticable difference. I sometimes forget on which phone I am and only notice it when I want to send a private message but then notice there are only my work contacts on the phone. Yes, the screen is a little brighter on the 14PM but you only notice it when you compare them next to each other.

Initially, I must confess that I noticed this is a "Max" discussion, while I own the non-Max version. Nevertheless, your point is quite valid. Historically, my most significant iPhone upgrades occurred when the device underwent a design overhaul, leading to a markedly improved look and feel. One vivid memory is transitioning from the iPhone 3GS to the iPhone 5, where the contrast was staggering in terms of both design and performance.

Presently, as I engage with applications like Photos, Feedly, Email, Calendar, Navigation, Safari, etc. (I don't indulge in gaming on iOS), I can't discern any significant performance hiccups with my XS. Given this, I had anticipated an upgrade that would provide a superior tactile experience, encompassing a lighter and slimmer chassis, as I've found the XS to be somewhat weighty.

Indeed, the realization should have dawned earlier simply by comparing the specifications.

I am having second thoughts and was curious if anyone else is having remorse for upgrading. The phone is beautiful and the updates are nice I am just not sure if it is worth it coming from an 14PM after using it for the last 4 days.
Nah. No regrets here. Super happy with my 15 pro vs my 14 pro.

Not had any overheating issues except during initial setup when I noticed it got a bit hot.

I don't do any gaming or processor-intensive stuff on my 15P so perhaps that's why. But I'll still keep an eye/hand on things to see -- I've got another week to play with it.

I returned my 15PM and am back using my 12. Didn’t like the larger phone and now I think I’ll just keep the 12 for another year.
Aren’t you worried about the radiation from the 12?! ( see recent news from France)

Wondering why some units have then and some don’t. Yesterday when i returned my pro at apple they said it’s mostly the regular pro and there was quiet a line. Picked up a plus for now -

My husband’s 15 Pro max display was clearer with better contrast for text than mine which is an identical model right down to color and storage size.

There is some quality variance in displays from individual phone to individual phone.

I'm hoping Apple addresses the back glass and heating issue in the following month or so, the latter presumably with iOS updates or changes to its material because I'm kind of planning to get one simply because I saved enough money for one, and it'll just feel like I got a fragile phone that feels like it's been left in the microwave for a second and suddenly more hot than a TV dinner meal

I'm curious. Is there anyone else who has a 15 who aren't reporting either of the issues or simply reporting the phone heating up, but not to where it feels like it's been left out in the sun
I’ve had my doubts with durability based off jerryrigs video. I then watched 2 other videos, two different guys doing bend tests with their thumbs in the same spot as jerryrigs video, they did not break. That pushed me to keep my device. I’ve had no overheating issues. I have a 15PM Natural Titanium 256gb. I love the phone.
