But it doesn't stutter...as many have confirmed in this forum. He has posted that in several threads...yet tech reviewers and real life everyday experience proves him wrong.

I can't stand lag and consider myself sensitive to it. The lg G4 lagged, the six plus did for its few months. The iPad 3 did. The note 5 does not.

^^ This. The Note 5 doesn't lag. The slight "shudder" being referenced in Hangouts isn't from the phone. It's likely a poorly written app or a result of how the messages and photos are stored. It's very minimal if at all and isolated to that app. I hardly use it so no cares given. Otherwise, the phone is lightening fast and responsive.

Are there any phones in the US market that are less than 5 inches in screen size and 1080 P?
Yes, the HTC One M7 from 2013 has a 4.7" 1080p screen, which would make the iPhone 7 3.5 years behind. To be fair, the iPhone 6's screen has a much better display in everything but the resolution.

But, but it has 4 gigs of ram. Next note will have 5 gigs and will still stutter.

Yep, my Note 5 has 4 gigs. Currently it's been ON and heavily used all day both on wifi and half the day on AT&T 4G and is not only FAST and SMOOOOOTH, but it's at 51% power with an Est. of another 6.5hrs left. In full transparency, I run an app called Package Disabler which kills off all the bloat and anything you want really. I have it just perfect for me given I have NOT charged my phone all day and am getting this type of performance from it. Makes all the difference in the world, especially compared to my Note 3.

App / RAM Wise, I have 26 apps open/parked, 1.7gb is towards the OS, 655MB towards apps and 1.0gb is free.

Upon a fresh boot with, 1.1gb towards the OS, 463mb towards apps and 2.2gb free.

Ive got the note 4 and its a good phone...trouble is they call it upgrades in software...reality is they screw it up...enough to make me want to switch to iphone.
Enjoy the 5 before they screw it up

I have that phone and tbh Could not tell the difference between its screen and my 4 inch iPhone 5. I still have it and use it on occasion and still cannot tell the difference between its screen and my iPhone 6.

There are no current in production phones that are less than 5 inch and 1080 p. The 4.6 Xperia Z5 compact is still 720 p.

Strange, I have the note 4 too and if anything, it was better after my firmware upgrade.

What's so bad after your upgrade if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah but as he said it's also the software implementation. Judging from the video demonstrations I've seen of both; Apple are vastly ahead of Huawei in that regard. "Afterthought" is the only way to sum up huawei's software implementation.
This. It amazes how many people like to gleefully claim that someone else did it before Apple, without even stopping to compare who did it better, weigh the merits of one against the other, or if they even are the same thing.

Nope you're wrong. Search xda for note 5 lag and you will see MANY threads on it.

Even using the stock keyboard lags. Like seriously thats ridiculous the default keyboard for the note 5 stutters like that.

Off the top of my head opening apps I see animation stutter, multitasking with certain apps.

It's sad when Motorola can come up with a device for 450 and its smooth as butter compared to the note 5. Samsung needs to focus less on s***** ads and focus more on their software.

Okay.

We all are entitled to our opinions. Xda, as great as it is, is a sure fire place to find evey problem possible with a device. Just like the iPhone forums here. I don't need to look at xda to know my experience. I look here at people in the note 5 thread, I have read nearly every review for this phone.

So as I stated, I believe you are incorrect, as would a majority of people here.

No animation stutters or multitasking problems. Sounds like you are describing a note 4.

The morotola play, for example, is far from smooth.

I have heard of lag, before debloating, on the att version...because att loads so much crap in their phones.

Stock keyboard? Lot of people her like it...I use Google keyboard.

This phone makes my iPad air 2 seem slow sometimes, largely due to animation speed, but none the less.

So...I still think you are incorrect.

You might not notice the stuttering but that doesn't mean it's not there. Same goes for the keyboard, I'm sure many people like it but that doesn't mean there isn't stuttering on it.

I'm just saying from my experience coming from smooth devices like the moto x and iPhone there definitely is lag and its 100% due to touchwiz. And no you're absolutely wrong if your going to say the iPhone keyboard lags or switching apps you see stuttering.

If you don't notice the stuttering good for you enjoy your phone. But there are many people that do notice and aren't putting up $800+ for subpar software.

Use an aftermarket launcher? Could that be it?

A nexus phone is usually the smoothest phone on the market, and its barebones comparatively. A different, equally good approach.

Macrumorsuser, jamezr, people like that on here that have owned an embarrassing number of phones, like myself, don't see what you are speaking of.

Maybe I am not looking for it and just enjoying a superb device. I don't know, I cant say your wrong or right because I'm not you.

In turn, you can say the same about me. You don't have my device, or standards. I was one of the few that found the six plus lag, upon release, to be a deal breaker (that lag has been fixed). I also found the LG g4 to be a great phone ruined by software.

I have high standards, and this is the first Samsung phone that met sdn exceeded this standards. The s6 edge was close, but the battery life was poor.

^^ this. I use Nova Launcher and there's no studder. I'm on XDA and read the claims too. Every device whether a phone or a car has someone complaining about something minor. I hear it on the automotive forums all the time that a tune lags, etc. yet people rip 1.2 60ft times and a 1.4 is then just god awful. Please....

Again, feel free to agree to disagree.

You've mentioned 1 user. All you have to do is a quick Google search to see note 5 stuttering. I don't want to post a link in case it breaks one of the terms. But the keyboard lag, app scrolling, app switching lag are just common issues with the note 5.

We're not debating if they are there, these are confirmed issues. I'm not sure if you used app disabler but I found 160 worthless apps from carrier and samsung slowing down my note 5, ridiculous.

I've had the same 27 apps open for roughly 2 days. I don't tend to close anything. I'm on my phone with the keyboard all the time. I'm using the heck out of it this morning. There's no lag, not even a slight flinch when switching apps or typing. YMMV

I named two users and myself.

I don't need to search it. Give me a product to search and I can find a problem with it.

Just because you say its a confirmed issue, doesn't make it an issue, nor does it mean it affects the majority of people.

The world is a big place and on the internet everyone is an expert. You can google just about anything gripe or nit-pick wise on just about any device and get a message board full of sheep agreeing.

Who cares, post whatever you want. Experience first hand tells us as users all we need to know. You see lag, I don't. Want me to post a vid? Tell me what you want to see and I bet I can find 10 minutes to show you. Please post your lag video for us to see too.

I've been using it since it's inception. The carrier apps aren't a fault with the Note 5. Those are carrier related issues.

I say its confirmed because of the prevalence of the issue on Android sites like xda and Android central.

Just because you and 1 other users don't notice the lag doesn't mean it's not there.

Using nova launcher is a start but you still have touchwiz running in the back. When I see package disabler disables 160 bloated apps I can begin to see why there is stuttering. I just prefer a much cleaner device and don't want to tinker with it to reach that level of purity.

Let's start with this since you seem to having issues understanding: what do you think is smoother a nexus 6 or a note 5? If you chose the 6 then can we go on to saying CLEAN UP TOUCHWIZ?

Again...I named two users, and another user has chimed in here supporting this point of view.

I got an idea...you don't like touchwize, so why did you buy it? Don't by it...go use an iPhone or nexus and enjoy that. I'll continue to enjoy what is arguably the best phone ever made up to this point. I look forward to trying out the 6s plus...but I doubt it will pull me from the note 5.

You constantly ignore my point and the poster that has chimed in. You state we are wrong and yourself and some xda threads are correct. I looked at those threads...and people in there are debating the validity of the claims.

I did a little Googling and have seen on multiple sites that apparently the United States didn't land on the moon, and JFK was an inside job. Since other people have reported it, it must be true and representative of what the world population as a whole thinks.

Or maybe not?

I have had the Note 5 since day one. I have had no lag or stutters at all. It is by far the best Android phone i have had. I would rank it right up there with my iPhone 6 Plus as far as build quality and ease of use. I would rank it higher in performance to my iphone (won't get my IP6s plus until 9/25). I would have to disagree with you on the lag and stutter problems you listed. I have not had those issues and do not think they are common.
Carrier bloat and useless apps....totally agree with you. The bundled apps are pointless. My Verizon Note 5 came with a bunch of useless apps i have to uninstall or disable.

I don't know. For the general consumer's attention, I think it's better to compare yourself to the industry leader and point out why your product is better. Samsung can definitely tone down their smugness, but it's not gonna help Samsung by just having them focus on their products. The average iPhone user would probably respond with "ok, how's this better or different than the iPhone?" By showing what the iPhone can't do that the Galaxy can, it differentiates the product. To techies and the forum cynics, these commercials are of course cringeworthy, but I have no doubt they have the power to convert some average consumers.

Advertising company which is hired by Samsung.

When you see ads like this(So Samsung users are wall huggers now? :) ) from Apple, then i will gladly call them in every negative way. I hope you can see why Samsung advertising is just wrong.

to be fair, Samsung didn't use the removable battery as the reason for its users not wall hugging --- they pointed out the Ultra Power Saving mode. So, even with sealed batteries, the Galaxy phones still have this mode and fast charging. Of course if you start with a decent battery in the first place, you wouldn't need it.

Plus, we can hold past commercials against the company. Samsung was touting its advantages at the time, but technology advances, and so does a company's approach.

^^ Very true. My wife is an iP6 user and has never used another phone. When she saw my most recent photos she was like WOW! Then she saw my wireless charging and said how she'd like to have that. Then she was using my phone in the car to surf the web looking at some stores, etc. and was again, WOW'd by how smooth, fast and seamless it really worked.

IMO split screen multitasking is awesome and a feature I use a lot. I don't need to peek and pop a web site or navigation link, I can just Pop both up simultaneously and with no lag or slow down at all. (although it is worth noting we've had peak and pop & pressure screens on the note) and it just needs to be implemented from a software standpoint to be used without a stylus.
