Ended up getting Winnie the Pooh, Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, and Bolt. I am now caught up on all the newest and best Disney animated classics. I can live without Peter Pan and Lady and the Tramp for now (don't mind getting these when they get outta the Vault), but not having Lion King is really driving me nuts.
Where did you get those?

Single redemption codes are harder to sell off, same thing happened w men rogue cut. I did sell mine on BD.com because I wanted to lower the cost of my bd purchase, I do it for many yet I still have like 300 digital movies lol....

hey another BR.com member nice! I'm there same name, you might remember me from the creation of the xml days
BLuray.com seems like a difficult place to sell codes... I'm not a big fan

I bought all from BR forums except Princess and the Frog which I got from Google forums.

Based on this, the following are the next to be vaulted.

going into vault april 2016

101 dalmatians

cinderella (I own)

little mermaid (I own)

jungle book

sleeping beauty

Just finished grabbing part 2 and 3 of Cinderella and Little mermaid . Got everything else on that list already before they hit the vault

Very frightening post from one of the members of the BR forum when they called Disney about an issue they had with a movie. DMA customer service seems to know about the rampant dual redemptions.

Just relaying my experience today with a DMA Disney Cast Member...

I went through all my iTunes Disney movies and as far as I could tell I had one movie that was not showing up in DMA.

So I contacted DMA to report the issue to find out what they might need from me and supplied them with the iTunes code originally used and a screenshot of my iTunes library in order to hopefully get the missing title added to my DMA account.

Yesterday I received an email from them requesting that I contact them directly which I did today.

So in my conversation of the issue with the Disney Cast member today I discovered the following.

I was told by the Cast Member that Disney had been well aware of the 'Double Dipping' (her phrase not mine) of codes and the recent changes were specifically designed to address that. Cast Members are apparently checking code redemption history too - the Cast Member checked both my DMA account and iTunes to see when each half of the code was redeemed and could tell that they were redeemed into different accounts. I was asked a series of questions regarding how the code and/or disc had been obtained. I pretty much responded that I purchased Blu-rays from different sources, including used discs, and couldn't recall where that particular Blu-ray or code may have come from.

Eventually the Cast Member put a copy of the movie into my account; however just a forewarning that anyone with movies missing from DMA might want to be prepared to answer a few questions if they contact DMA for resolution.

oh geez. I get the idea behind that for Disney and DMA, but leave it where they are now. they "fixed" the issue. move forward. if you let those folks keep them as is, they will be buying more movies because they already tasted the Disney DMA digital copy drug...remove movies and you will have a loss of fans in that arena.

I contacted DMA a few weeks back when all my Disney iTunes copies were not showing. I had them in DMA and other partners. they said they knew about it. this was during the XML fiasco and pre-Disney DMA update. I was told once in DMA it sill stay in DMA - though that was if dropping one GP account and linking another (I create new GP accounts each year and forgot the original one).

I suppose this could be a great reason to have done the Amazon DC+ when you had the chance...it spit out a new Amazon Code to use there as credits to purchase the movie.

I still can't believe that someone who knowingly buys codes is contacting Disney directly. It's the cost of doing this......if something happens you can't contact the studio. Contacting Vudu/Flixster/iTunes would be alright kinda ;) because they can't see everything. But I think everyone knew Disney can see and track codes.

Now of course I'm not sure Disney can do anything as they can't prove who had the legit code.....like they said, there is nothing illegal from them buying a used disc that still has the slip in it. Only thing Disney can do is what they are doing.....closing the loophole THEY created.

EDIT: Let me be clear - Disney can do anything they want. So if they wanted to go back and remove the second redeems from accounts they could. Let's hope that doesn't happen and they just accept the fact that the loophole is now closed.

While we're on the subject of Amazon DC+, it is still worth redeeming through Amazon with new codes like Snow White and Good Dinosaur. You redeem through Amazon as a "new purchase" with 150 "Amazon/DMR" points added to your account, then you redeem the remaining DMR through Disney for a total of 300 points.

hey, I think I might have saw a post of yours on BR.com..though slight difference in name (r)

Anyway, I think you can only get points once for a Movie Title Bluray...and once more for the DVD. so I don't think you could get the second points, but could (in theory) give away or sell those points.

You will get points for each digital purchase as well....which is what the Amazon DC+ is.

That's me haha.

When you redeem through Amazon, it gives you credit as a digital purchase on DMR. Then you redeem the DMR that came with the Blu-ray as a Blu-ray purchase so 150 each (1 digital from Amazon and 1 Blu-ray).

I can't verify since I redeemed Snow White and Good Dinosaur directly on DMA, but someone on the Google forums said this works.

oh I see. Digital then bluray...OK that could make sense.
interesting. didn't think about that I was thinking of the idea that it was from bluray. but yeah that is then a digital purchase. hmmm.

I've been trying to get my hands on a reasonably priced Snow White Code...I could give it a try and see.
let me know if anyone sees a good deal.

What are your guys thoughts on Peter Pan XML for $20? Worth it?

$20 is a decent price.
I've seen it as high as $35-50+ and that is ridiculous

$20 is the base price when it comes back. I'd figure since most/all are $17.99-19.99

If I was really interested in it I'd go for it. but PeterPan isn't high on my want list other than it being a Vaulted movie.
I have Lion King and Beauty Beast mainly for my wife (she really loves those). and I think I got them both for about $25

Gah. I'm gonna have to pass. I feel like since this isn't high on my want list, by the time I eventually do get around to watching it, it'll be out of the Vault.

I almost bought Aladdin 2 & 3 today but then thought these aren't movies I feel are really missing or my kids are really wanting. if it was Cars 2 or Toy Story sequels (I only need 2) then I'd have bought but they aren't high on my want list.

For the pricier Disney movies it comes down to wants. I'd like Peter Pan but don't WANT it.

Though I was surprised, I bought Mary Poppins last week and wasn't sure it being an older movie but my son (6) loved it.

I thought about getting Aladdin 2 and 3 but 2 was released as straight to video during the VHS days so there is no widescreen version. Disney simply cropped and chopped off the top and bottom to make it appear as "widescreen". That's the biggest sticking point for me. Also the fact that they aren't "true" classics.

I read that in the reviews...chopping the top.
and yes not a "true" classic to me

It's all whether you want to spend the money for something and you think it will be watched. I picked up the Aladdin sequels because my kids like them. They were straight to video and not great - but for $10 bucks I don't mind. Wish I could get the Lion King sequels as those are really good IMO....but those were a glitch in the DMA code.

If you guys get a full code for an HBO show like Game of Thrones, do you guys bother selling off the Google portion or just redeem it yourself? At best these give you $2 so I'm wondering if I should just redeem them myself since you can stream Google shows through YouTube. Honestly out of all the streaming services, YouTube is likely the one to fail the least. Even Apple was once on the brink of bankruptcy so you can't always assume iTunes or Vudu will be around forever.

I find it easier to use family/friend pay tv credentials to log into HBOGO

Though not quite a Disney renaissance film, Treasure Planet is also $15 which makes it $12.75 like Mulan after coupon.
