So why are they segregating markets and choosing to ship to Europe sometime after USA ?

Technically we are paying more for our item MBA's (standard config) 1699 Euro = $2500 Dollar. We then have NO option for expedited shipping, and then to add insult we are seemingly being put on the back shelf whilst USA pre-orders are filled first.

Talk about BS! :(

...hmm, 'cause it's an US-based company? But from a different perspective,
the EU-customers secure margins. I don't think that Apple realizes a loss when
they sell the entry-MBA for USD 1.800,00... the gap of USD 700,00 up to EU
prices is a 100% margin - great abitrage opportunity.

Hmm, and what about taxes? Are taxes included in $1799? As I'm from Europe, I'm not sure about this ...

Cheers

Australia's similar ($2,499AUD = approx $2,200USD for base config). (Although I got discount through my employer to bring it down to $2,349, then I'll take it as part of my salary package which knocks another 41.5% off, so only out of pocket $1,374AUD which is only about $1,195USD!!) I ordered 1.6/80G about 5 hours after keynote and still showing as not yet shipped. (Ships by 07/02, Delivers by 11/02).

How do you know the authorization has been placed on your card? Do you have to call up your cc company...on amex I dont think it shows up online until the charge is actually made...

mine shipped also. Shows left shanghai at 11:59 am jan 30. That is jan 29 10:59 pm est. Figure sixteen hours to us by direct flight arrives this afternoon in us. Possible delivery by am?

I have overnight but I can't tell by the tracking when it will arrive. To those with this experience any chance it will arrive by Thursday? Otherwise I am out of town till Monday and that would be a small bummer.

Price in Sweden for a 1.6/80 is 2560 USD, but I got about the same deal as you and pay around 1630 USD.

When are the 1.8/64 SSD models going to ship??

Guys -

I'm going crazy here watching all these shipping notifications wondering when my MacBook Air 1.8/64gb SSD model is going to ship! I ordered it at 10:41am PST the morning of the keynote as soon as the Apple Store came back online.

Being so patient...... What about all you others out there that got the same model???
