Wouldn't it be easier just to make a Google Doc and share it instead of bloating up the thread with these huge posts that take up pages? Makes the rest of us think that something is going on when there is 5 new pages since last time we checked.
ok so mine still hadn't shipped this morning so i figure there is no way i'd get it by friday like some of you so i cancelled - we still don't know if it will hit the stores on friday - but i can't imagine that if people get them on friday that they will hit the stores 3 or more days later (monday tues wed seem like odd launch days) - it has to be around the same time. i think apple likes friday launch days. we'll see if i'm right.

Has anyone that ordered on the 16th with a 1.6/80 config been given shipped notice? Just curious.
I ordered the base config on the 16th at 7AM PST...status "not yet shipped".

I just called 5th ave store and got through. The gentleman stated "First week in February" they would be receiving them. Well wouldn't Friday be the beginning of the first week in February?

Dude I hear you. I've been waiting for this computer since November when my company decided to "upgrade" me from a 4.5 pound Toshiba to a 7 pound Dell
As soon as the keynote was over I got on the Apple site and chatted with an agent to decide exactly what I wanted and than ordered it at 11:46am, with 2-3 day shipping. Its still in the Not Yet Shipped phase. I got the 1.6/80 but added the iworks pre-installed - no idea that would delay shipping. If I would have known I would have bought it seperately. If the MBA wasn't so dang perfect for what I need - I'm a physical therapist and have to carry it around all day - I'd go and buy a regular MacBook. Impatience is turning into frustration

Even the most minor of customizations means that they can't send you one of the prepackaged stock options. It's not that complicated.
I think your better bet is to try and get one from a store now.

Not very encouraging, but this is also the standard stuff they usually send when they just don't know-or they don't want to give the info out yet. In my experience with new Apple products, they have always shipped sooner than later, so here's hoping this is no exception to that.

don't forget that the air is ready when it's ready. It's not ready for people or apple stores any sooner than amazon. If they started shipping, they shipped to people and apple stores and amazon at the same time. It will take you longer to get your notebook, however long it takes for amazon to receive and turn around your product is going to be your delay...
