I was thinking about it and when Steve Jobs said it will be "shipping in 2 weeks" didn't he also say that the update for Apple TV Take 2 would be out in that time period too? WELL STEVE I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT AN APPLE TV CAN I HAVE MY FRIGGIN UPDATE?!?

What would have been the major disaster if he would have said "Pre-orders ship in two weeks and on February 1st the MacBook Air would be released."

What is the big issue? They did it with the iPhone and Leopard. I thought those launches went pretty well. This MBA launch is quite frankly annoying.

I will really blow my brains out if I have to wait until 6pm on Friday to get it. I swear to God if it doesn't come out on Friday he can take his MBA and stick it where the sun don't shine.

I ordered mine the night of the keynote and it's shipped. I don't have a arrival date from fedex though.

OK everyone. If you want to take your stalking, I mean tracking, to the next level, you can check the flight status of FedEx planes.

There are 2 flights that go between Shanghai and the states.
Flight 90 to Memphis and Flight 24 to Indy.

The flight identifier is FDX24 and FDX90. They are both estimated to land in Alaska at around 12 - 1 PM YST (Yukon Standard Time - Alaska)

They both landed over 12 hours and 10 hours ago respectively.

Well it seems that I'm about the only one that got theirs pre-ordered through Best Buy. I've always been pretty happy with their service plans, especially the Accidental part. Oh, plus it helps to get an employee discount from there too. From Apple with an education discount the computer goes down to 1699 and Apple Care goes to 183. But from what I understand about AppleCare, it doesn't provide a free battery replacement and doesn't cover physical damage.
So I might have to wait a couple of days longer to get the air, but I saved a bundle. Maybe I'll use that extra money to take a flight to NY or LA and go to the Apple stores to play with the MBA before it arrives at home, :D

The flights you saw were from yesterday. You have to look at the planned flights. The FAA can not guarantee flight departures from foreign cities so, until they land in Anchorage, we won't know the true inflight status.

I would think that around 3 PM Central, the tracking sites should have more accurate information.

Thr shipping notice email from apple claims delivery on Feb 4th. These shipping orders for the most part accurate from previous experiences.

MacBook Air measures an unprecedented 0.16-inches at its thinnest point, while its maximum height of 0.76-inches is less than the thinnest point on competing notebooks. Apple also announced that the new Apple TV® software update, which allows users to rent high definition movies directly from their widescreen TVs, is not quite finished. Apple now plans to make the free software download available to existing Apple TV customers in another week or two.

I ordered a superdrive and an ethernet adapter with mine. The Air has shipped, not the additional items tho....
