But, mine says "departed fedex location." Doesn't that mean it's already left AK?

I remember when I ordered the MBP, it went from Alaska to Indianapolis to get international shipment release, then to California. I noticed the other members who already received their MBA had that in their FedEx page.

Mine left Indy at 6:30 AM today. I don't understand. First batch arrived yesterday, why isn't the second batch arriving today? I also had overnight (which is a joke btw).

My scheduled delivery is Monday, but it's still been interesting to watch the FedEx tracking info.

At 5:15 pm eastern on Thursday, my MacBook Air was in Alaska. As of 5:29 am eastern on Friday (today), it's at the FedEx sorting facility near the Atlanta airport. It stopped in Indianapolis along the way. I guess it's not THAT impressive, but I'm surprised it's moved this quickly.

So I guess it's Monday for me as I'm not close to the Atlanta airport.

Boy, these are really just trickling out.

Don't forget you lucky folks with shipping notices, include your order date!

And regarding bags -- I bought a new Waterfield Cosmo (small, hooray) and am debating between one of the slim Belkins and a Waterfield sleeve (already have a couple for other machines-- they're great).

Mine shipped last night! Left origin from Shanghai on 2/1 at 12:18pm.

For reference, I ordered my 1.8GHz/64GB at 10:52am on 1/15.

That's great! Likewise, mine shipped (well, "left origin") at 12:18pm last night as well. I ordered my 1.8/64SSD at 10:50a 1/15 ... seems we will be on the same plane.

This thread has been extremely fun, yet extremely time consuming. CyberGypsy, I'm not sure whether to thank you profusely for starting it, or to swear in your general direction. http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

mine shipped 1.8 with ssd. yeah!

anyone know if... a usb 2.0 bus powered hard drive will work with it? some posts on amazon seem to think that you need a usb y cable to get enough power. that would of course mean no for the air. however i'm wondering if the souped up usb 2.0 outlet for the superdrive will do it for me.

What time do shipments generally go out in local Shanghai time? Have a clock in my Dashboard all set up for it.

It may depend on the make and size of the HDD, but I own a 160GB WD passport that works great (single USB, no AC adapter) on all of my Mac laptops -- can't imagine it won't work fine on the Air with it's souped up USB port.

Why cool? You could have been playing with your MB Air all weekend if you picked it up in the store today.

This is not directed at you specifically (for all I know, you may be living a couple of days drive from the nearest Apple store), but I just can't understand why people pre-order stuff, when 9 times out of 10 it shows up in the stores before they get it in the mail. Well, perhaps it's the thrill of anticipation, I dunno :rolleyes:
