The 120hz display on my Note 20 Ultra is awesome. So Samsung can manage to pull it off just fine. Whats that say about Apple? They are Samsung made displays literally handed to them and they still cant make them work.

They use an LTPO panel, that’s why it works awesome. (The LTPO technology is being developed by Apple btw)

For some reason Apple will use it till the 2021 iPhones.

99.9% of people don't even know what 120hz is or even care lol.
In a sense, that's true. Even Samsung disabled it by default on theirs.
It's unfortunate that we are now comparing phones simply by a single spec race. It was the camera megapixel before, then the screen ppi, and now this. As if that's the sole definition of a phone, ignoring the rest of the experience in using the phone.

Let's look at the Note 20. Many people bashing it for only having 60Hz, while ignoring the point of the Note is the S Pen.

2021 is shaping up to be a huge year beyond what we’re seeing so far this launch, with mini-LED On the horizon and micro-led is nearing for the watch if Apple aligns the necessary suppliers.

Face ID with a notch is a compromise I get you. But the execution of FaceID is flawless. It is not gimmicky like a teardrop screen with a half assed face recognition. However going for a 1440 res to a 1080 for a 120Hz is not a compromise. It is an execution failure. That is why Apple drop it. I don't want my iPhone getting any heavier yet still having to recharge during lunch.

Besides if 120Hz is really that good as claimed Note 20 sales would have been euphoric right? Why does it fare worse than Note 10? It is a no brainer. Experience over specs anytime.

The fact the most users keep their phones on 1080 at 120hz, instead of going to 1440 at 60hz, speaks volumes in itself. This argument happens all the time. It's always a gimmick until iPhone does it.

Also, I think the real reason for Samsung not having 120hz on 1440 and Apple not having it at yet, is the that high refresh rates are know to mess with the color of the display. Mainly a dimming effect of certain colors. Even the Pixel 4 is known to cut back down to 60hz when a user manually dims the screen. And it's suspected it does that to maintain a consistent lower brightness.

I've installed a work around that let me have 120hz at 1440 on the S20 Ultra. The battery life difference was unnoticeable compare to 120hz at 1080. So I highly doubt it's a battery issue. Only reason I didn't keep 120hz on 1440 is cause it requires Developer Settings to remain enabled, and my cable streaming app doesn't allow that.

I’ve heard good things since the second iteration of the scanner. Apple should somehow implement this in the upcoming iPhone models, a secondary biometric option can only enhance the experience, not deter it. Face ID offers a lot of potential, but it has its limited use cases for sure.

Yea, with the S20 Ultra, I don't even have to think about it. It's been the closet thing to a physical sensor in accuracy.

Has UBSC, fast charger, 120 hz display, 5100 battery, 6gb RAM, expandable memory, quad camera, headphone jack, fingerprint sensor, face unlock, pinhole camera.

And it even comes with a free case?

There must be something wrong that a phone like this is only $200?

I HATE this guy, he talks in riddles non stop and CRAVES attention and acts very high and mighty.

Prosser is of course worse and a liar who stole people’s money apparently but Love to dream is a wind up.

he says the Air4 will be $599 so if true then that’s a high increase.

Agree, acts like a little kid, might be funny first or second time, then it gets old real quick, give him one thing though, his pretty spot on when it comes to leaks.

Personally not bothered, I am not planning to get the 12 series phones anyway.

With the 12 series of iPhones reportedly getting smaller batteries, this may be a blessing in disguise.

Hopefully the 13 series will come with 90hz or 120hz and larger batteries.

I read about this, it was mentioned that it can actually be disabled or completely block the functionality from any type of adverts on Android central. (Rather that be the entirely accurate, I don’t have first-hand experience.)

I don’t think the smaller batteries will make as much impact as some expect with a more efficient processor managing usage. I can’t see Apple sacrificing battery life after building a reputation with it being so good.

Aren’t the purported 5G benefits not that significant? Unless using the top of the line model?

At the end of that day, it's a feature for China and a couple of other locations, and everyone else is just along for the ride (because it justifies prices).

Where I am, 4G is being throttled now to push 5G services in the city. My next phone needs to have 5G before I return to the pre-iphone 5 world... but if that's not happening where you are, or 5G coverage isn't universal - yeah, it's probably not so significant.

I agree, Apple will probably not allow for 11 Pro record battery life to decrease, tightly integrating iOS 14 & iPhone 12 hardware. Also, going by this logic, the battery life of other devices running iOS 14 should be increasing too?

So no promotion, no slimmer bezels or smaller notch, just that stainless steel that is "ironed" to be flat and not rounded
So, this year will be all focus in tech to the Arm based macs

Yep, it looks like OLED across the board, one smaller screen (5.4”) model & 5G will be the major selling points this year.

2021 - Apple INVENTED 120hz!!!!111

Man... some people on this forum get really butthurt because Apple doesn’t cater to them or whatever myriad of desperate grasping at the straws to find something new in technology that the Androids find themselves in because psst: they’ve plateaued too! 🤫
