for sure..no question I’m waiting
And if you can wait, absolutely the correct decision. Telescope Cameras, TouchID and a tiny black dot instead of a manky notch. Anybody coming for an 11 or 12 would be wise to wait. XS and prior are upgrade candidates. Mmm... 11... mmm... on the fence for that now I think about it. XS and 11 were two pretty average releases. Even 12 was boring apart from 5G and better night photos (which still suck with the wide angle)
But what if instead of a hole-punch perfect circle it was the Apple Logo... Imagine that. The ultimate Profile! Haha. Of course it will never happen, but it would be pretty funny!

Maybe they if will have a Zeiss lens by then like my Nokia used to..like how many years ago did Nokia start using Zeiss? That is how far Apple is behind in the camera. I never had the flare these phones do and they could actually take a pic up close.

I have a XS Max. I have skipped every new phone after that. Prior, I owned every iPhone from 3G -> XS Max. I just couldn't justify any further upgrades when my phone was just fine. Plus, not much changed except with the intro of 12. Again, wasn't a huge update to me. Especially when phones are now hitting the $1,400 mark. Just gets excessive.

Honestly that is what the smart money does, yes i can buy a phone every year but why, i like my money. I will look at the 14 though for sure and sell this one. For me 2 years is the min to have a phone and thats only if you dont like it, but 3+ years you finally break even, then on the + side of bang for your buck.

Maybe, just maybe, it's time to start releasing new phones every two years and focus on the software! On the software there are still things to wow us :)

I have an iPhone 11 and the only thing that attracts me on iPhone 12 or 13 it's the design (iPhone 5 design). But other than that my phone it's still great. Without a good offer from my carrier for iPhone 13 i will still rock the 11 for at least one more year
I’d be very happy if Apple moved to a 2-year iPhone cadence. I think we’d see better software and hardware, but Apple would presumably make less money, so no dice. Maybe someday once these things are just glass slabs, but I doubt it

They need to use up their older inventory…win win for them…they’re getting the most bang for the buck, but you’re right for the consumers to get a better product and for less waste of $$…2 years would be better

upgrading every year (especially the S years) is not needed unless you have enough amount in your bank account and you want the latest and greatest for your business. You will notice very minimal changes.
Even every two years is a stretch given the small/incremental upgrades Apples trickles out.

Problem is they have no competition, snapdragon and exynos is still a joke, they won’t be catching apple anytime soon.

Even a xs max is better than the latest android flagships.

I hope the hole punch isn’t added. If they were to scrap Face ID, which I highly doubt by the way, I would like to see Face ID and Touch ID added together.

also skipping it, I have not even taken advantage of the 12 PM camera yet going from lockdown to lockdown for a year. I'll finally replace my 2012 MBP instead

I’m skipping this year and saving for next year’s Pro Max and the Apple Watch S8. By then hopefully Apple have a final decision on wether they’re going to go through launching CSAM.

Upgrades are less than the effort they put into thinking they are making a cool presentation

“…most Pro iPhone ever” that was funny Timmy

I thought I couldn't be disappointed after the leaks and rumors. I still am. The most underwhelming upgrade in so many years. The 13 upgrade is a joke. 12s wouldn't even make sense. Really disappointing, esp as a Mini user with the 13 Mini being the last of it's kind. I hoped for one more thing with the 13 series.

Will buy the 13 mini anyway as it is the last, but at the end of it's cycle when prices drop around 300-400$ maybe.

Thank god they introduced the new iPad mini, that made my day at least.

Agreed. Keeping my 12 and waiting for the 14, buying the new iPad mini instead! I can't believe they didn't cheap out on it. A15, new cameras and all. First time in many years I haven't upgraded to the new iPhone.

Idk I do like the new cameras. The bigger f1.5 on the wide lens and the 3x optical zoom on the telephoto is enticing enough to consider if I can find a good deal on a 13 pro. I’m happy with my 12 pro and unless I can get a good trade in I’m going to keep my 12 pro.
