That's basically the same as the LG UltraGear 48GQ900-B.Who is going for the ASUS Oled ROG Swift PG42UQ ?
Hopefully Apple will implement HDMI2.1 and DP2.0 in the next SoC.

It's available in both 42" and 48" 😅Asus is 42 inch. And I won't be upgrading my m1 max ...
Thought about it after seeing Spawn Point saying in works with 4k120. Although I already bought the lg c2 a few months ago dangit. Grrrr. Seems not to be available yet anyways. Keeping my eye on it though.Who is going for the ASUS Oled ROG Swift PG42UQ ?
well, I was speaking about the 42...It's available in both 42" and 48" 😅
Me! But the 48" version. It should arrive tomorrow! I had planned to go with gigabyte or the lg ultragear, but Asus is the only one using the new lg evo panel.Who is going for the ASUS Oled ROG Swift PG42UQ ?
It's not about SoC, it's a MacOS software limitation. That's basically the same as the LG UltraGear 48GQ900-B.

We know 😅It's not about SoC, it's a MacOS software limitation.

I still want HDMI2.1 and DP2.0.

I’m curious what you mean by USB4 v2. The USB spec uses a different language to describe capability, like USBX gen Y with Z lanes, where X is mostly meaningless, and there is no “v” subversion. And?
Here in Mac land we are more concerned with what USB and ThunderBolt does. USB4 v2 is updated to align with the latest versions of the DisplayPort and PCIe specifications.

Ah, right, I forgot that they released the new spec adding and called it that.USB4 Version 2.0
AMD and Intel both look to be moving towards DP 2.0. Hopefully Apple does as well.since 4090 comes with dp1.4, so ...
Interesting. Can anyone else confirm? What type of cable setup are you using?I have 120hz 4k option that appeared with the latest Ventura Beta, 6900 XT, LG B9 OLED. Before there was 60hz max, but when I select 120hz, I see a black screen only.
Did you tro 100Hz? And does your cable actually do 4K120Hz?I have 120hz 4k option that appeared with the latest Ventura Beta, 6900 XT, LG B9 OLED. Before there was 60hz max, but when I select 120hz, I see a black screen only.
Okay so I downloaded the latest beta to give this a try. No dice. Still only getting 60 hz max. Using a usb-c to hdmi converter and an LG C2 oled.I have 120hz 4k option that appeared with the latest Ventura Beta, 6900 XT, LG B9 OLED. I'm using HDMI 2.1 cable, which works in Windows as HDMI 2.1 120hz 4k 4:4:4.Did you tro 100Hz? And does your cable actually do 4K120Hz?
It will most likely "magically" get fixed the moment Apple adds HDMI 2.1 support to their devices and by that notion their operating system.I posted this elsewhere and was directed to this thread. I can tolerate 4k@60hz until this is fixed, and between my employer and my own wallet, I tend to get a new MBP on an annual basis. Knowing these things, is it still stupid to expect that this will be fixed by OS updates and/or new MBP laptops or is it likely that this LG C2 is never going to talk to MBP in the way I'd like?
Hopefully that is mid-November with the rumored M2* hardware! It will most likely "magically" get fixed the moment Apple adds HDMI 2.1 support to their devices and by that notion their operating system.
Updated to the latest beta and no luck here either with my M1 Max 16 and 42" C2. :/macos 13 is released today, any luck?
