Interesting, I didn't know about the Google Docs spreadsheet. Found my name on it and updated the info to show shipping and delivery. Do you know who's organised this?
I forget who pointed out its existence, much earlier in the thread. I added my name and order myself.

I subsequently assumed you set it up! Owing to your fantastic effort modelling the data and making it possible to approximately predict delivery in some cases.

That spreadsheet might’ve been a good tool had more added their names to reduce ‘noise’, such as some machines arriving early because of cancellations; apple’s initial inventory ready for early orders giving a false impression of how fast they could produce them; and those unpredicted lockdowns and shipping logjams…

Been watching along, but my Ultra is still weeks out so no point posting non update noise.

I do think a lot of the Max’s that shipped early might have been been because apple has been diverting a lot of the M1 Max diesform MacBook Pro production, that was stoped/limited due to lock downs, to Studio production.
Had production been running better on the MBPs there would have been less Max Studio’s shipping early.

Great to hear. Apple placing a pending charge on your credit card ten days after your order suggests that it's making significant progress on production. The pending charge suggests that you're about a week away from "Shipped", although that's when your Max gets to camp out at Hong Kong airport for a few days until UPS actually puts it on a plane :)

No doubt frustrating, though, for people who don't already have a monitor and are waiting for Apple's.
I did think it'd come on time but I am surprised to see a charge this early! Unfortunately yeah no big rush on getting it to me unless the display starts moving, as I'm coming from an iMac.. Date for that says June 22 but I've seen they're getting pushed back like the MBPs are and I'm nowhere near an apple store. I'll post when the studio gets to me though

I wasn´t aware of this "long list", either. Looks comprehensive but as trickster is meaningless hasn´t been heard of since April 12 I´m not sure if it´s really up to date. I´ll keep my "ultra shortlist" running until delivery and include only members who somehow indicate their consent to share and update their data. Anyone can take over from there.

UPS are also very confused or lying somewhat, cause they sent me an email saying it is coming tomorrow when it clearly isn’t. Their tracking web page says Wednesday and the tracking itself says it’s still in Hong Kong. If it leaves HK today it could arrive Wednesday, but only just. (Takes 2 days to UK from HK)

(Could potentially leave on the delayed 5X19 tonight)

My Max finally made it through the Honk Kong bottleneck. Took about four days. Arrived in Hong Kong 5/19, departed for Taiwan 5/23.

Looks like it's currently on the way to Anchorage. Delivery shows tomorrow by 7pm here in the North East.

Same flight as my Max (UPS 61 Hong Kong > Taipei > Anchorage > Louisville) but four days later...

On Friday morning, UPS flew my Max from Louisville to JFK a little after 4 AM, arriving about 6AM. Delivered in NYC at 10 AM.

I ordered on May 16th, and on the 19th Apple charged my card.

Order still shows as pending, so I'm not sure what this means. Delivery is slated for Jul 5-12th.

However, an order placed on March 10 has not yet been processed. it's really crazy.
Apple planned the production of the M1 Ultra really badly.
I think of those who ordered on March 10th, a very important investment, and still have no updates of any kind.
Outrageous this kind of service from Apple.

Sure they have. They´ve sent "thank you for your patience" mails. And I think someone was offered free earbuds.
Big deal, as Steve would´ve put it ...

Base Max + 64g ram, 1tb SSD.

Apple U.S. currently says that it will deliver a base Max between June 1st, only nine days from now, and June 8th. It is also delivering build-to-order Maxes well before the beginning of the delivery window, in your case July 5 - 12.

I guess that your order is another example of progress with production and delivery:

May 16: order
May 19: Apple credit card charge pending

This is my own timeline for the Max in my signature. Some people have had a longer wait than four days between Apple's pending credit card charge and "Preparing to Ship". It would be interesting to know when your status changes to the latter. The main problem is at Hong Kong airport, where orders can sit for several days before UPS flies them onward:

April 1: order with delivery June 27 - July 11
May 3: delivery changed to June 22 - 29
May 10: credit card payment to Apple "pending" (funds reserved)
May 14: "Preparing to Ship"
May 16: “Shipped”, Max delivered from Shenzhen to Hong Kong airport; UPS schedules delivery for May 18
May 17: credit card payment to Apple "posted" (card charged, Apple paid)
May 19: UPS flies my order Hong Kong > Taiwan > Anchorage > Louisville > New York
May 20: Delivered in New York at 10 AM local time

Did you order direct from Apple or through a reseller? As far as I can tell, the latter is the norm in Italy.

People who ordered directly from Apple were given a delivery window at the time of their order. As far as I know, Apple remains within those windows with few exceptions, and Apple has notified people directly of changes. My own wait was shortened.

There's a major Covid-19 problem in China that resurfaced a few days after Apple's March 8th announcement. Tim Cook does not tell President Xi how to manage Covid 19. Anybody who read a decent newspaper knew within days of the Apple event what the emerging situation was in China, and ordered anyway. Now some of these same people are complaining about Apple?

If you're interested, Apple did address the supply problem in China on April 28th during its Q2 earnings call, and a recording of what it said is publicly available. There are also news reports on the call. Apple said that it hoped production and delivery would return to normal by the end of June. At the moment, it looks like it's making progress quite a bit sooner than that.

If past patterns repeat themselves, I have a feeling/ I hope you will see your order change to pending to ship sometime between 9pm EDT Sunday and 9 am EDT Monday. Then shipped sometime by Tuesday. Credit card charge will happen sometime Monday. Let’s see how it goes for you.
It's now 0900 PDT (12 noon EDT) and... Nothing. Credit card still charged for 5/23, which is today, so maybe something will move... Someday.

Delivery for my May 5th order for the base model Studio Max 10/24/32/512 has just been pulled forward a week to 19-26 May.:D
...and now in a single day progressing from "Preparing..." to "Shipped" with delivery tomorrow 24 May/22. But then my Mac Studio Max isn't a BTO version, so shipped by the local Apple Store from available stock.

Darn! I was so hoping Apple had a rough timeline to guess when things happen. The weekend obviously messes with the timing, but with China being 12 hours ahead I was hoping you would get good news today. I am waiting and watching what happens to yours and others. 🤞
