Darn! I was so hoping Apple had a rough timeline to guess when things happen. The weekend obviously messes with the timing, but with China being 12 hours ahead I was hoping you would get good news today. I am waiting and watching what happens to yours and others. 🤞
Yeah, I was hoping your prediction would come true, but no such luck. Yet.

It’s not looking good for those of us in Europe. Hong Kong airport website currently shows no Cologne flights today and the only one tomorrow is cancelled.

Just thought I'd mention that not all flights to Europe are going Hong Kong > Cologne. One last week went Hong Kong > Dubai > Paris. Also, the most direct route is not always the one used. Some flights to the U.S. are going Hong Kong > Taiwan > Anchorage instead of Hong Kong > Anchorage.

There's a major Covid-19 problem in China that resurfaced a few days after Apple's March 8th announcement. Tim Cook does not tell President Xi how to manage Covid 19. Anybody who read a decent newspaper knew within days of the Apple event what the emerging situation was in China, and ordered anyway. Now some of these same people are complaining about Apple?

If you're interested, Apple did address the supply problem in China on April 28th during its Q2 earnings call, and a recording of what it said is publicly available. There are also news reports on the call. Apple said that it hoped production and delivery would return to normal by the end of June. At the moment, it looks like it's making progress quite a bit sooner than that.

I agree completely. Moreover, Apple stated in their call that inability to meet demand was their most pressing problem. Details of the call were even posted on this website IIRC.

Even if one takes the most cynical view of Apple, the notion they would lure us into making orders but not care about filling them or - ahem - getting to take our money is crazy 😜

That said, I appreciate the frustration many of us feel at the wait. In my own case the ultra studio will be an essential work tool, as I’m sure these machines are for all of us.

On the other hand, I consider the wait - any wait! - worth it. A year ago I never dreamed a machine this powerful, considerably exceeding the best Mac Pro to date in cpu terms, would become reality. And at a fraction of the cost as well!

That´s right. And if you don´t like things at Apple, just wait another week. Or two. Big Deal.

Ultras back in stock at BH.
I need your address. I'd like to stop by and hit you with a frying pan! #1, Ultras at B&H don't help any of us who already ordered Ultras and have been processed. #2, WTF are Ultras doing "in stock" while we're in the forum without ours??? Haha this is all crazy

Especially tricky for those of us that are already have had Apple grab over $4000 from our accounts.

The models available at B&H are never a version I want anyway, with the 64 GPUs. And I won't go below 2TB on the internal drive.

I'd be tempted to cancel my order with Apple right now, even if it meant paying extra at B&H, but they don't have a model I want in stock.

Does Apple send an email when an order progresses? If so then I’ll stop signing in to check my order every few hours… :p

You have to watch your order page on Apple's site or in its Store App to find out when your order changes from "Processing" to "Preparing to Ship". In the U.S., at least, you also have to watch your credit card transactions to find out when Apple's charge is "pending" (i.e. it has reserved the funds with your credit card company).

Apple will send you an e-mail when you go from "Preparing to Ship" to "Shipped", and include a UPS tracking number. Within a short time, UPS will give you a delivery date that will likely be quite a bit sooner than the date that Apple gives you in the e-mail. Apple's e-mail recommends that you follow UPS's tracking page for up-to-date info on shipment and delivery of your order.

Things start to move for the "ultra patient". For the early March bto fools.

You can fool some early bto fanboys for quite some time. But you can´t fool all your customers all the time.

I ordered the Studio Display almost two months ago and it is currently scheduled for the 25th May - 9th June. No movements in the bank account so far and it is still stuck in processing status. Should I give a call to Apple to enquire about the order?

there is another thread about the display orders. what's happening with those seems to depend on configuration etc., some were delayed once they got to the date but it seems to be improving this wk... you can always call, but I doubt they'll say much beyond they're trying to get em out

Ok sorry for posting here, I found the other thread and is indeed more appropriate to have posted this question there.

The date estimate has not changed.

The estimated delivery date will change when your order's status changes to shipped. Apple will give you a notional delivery date and UPS will give you a "real" delivery date that will likely be notably earlier.

The addressed supply problem is visualized here (sorry for the German)

Apple has shipped my Ultra today.
Received a phone notification that it will be delivered until 10th June.
UPS created shipping labels. ✌🏼👌🏼

I ordered a stock Ultra from John Lewis (UK) just now.

They had 2 in stock yesterday and they went. One came back online today and I went for it…

Should arrive in a day or two…

To UK folk - if you're going for stock configs, it's worth putting your email into the John Lewis 'email me when in stock' thing.

Having said that, even though finance etc is approved, it's still processing. I'll update when it's been shipped!
