Some of you may be interested in this review, which shows a different (scientific, engineering) aspect of the M1 Ultra’s performance than all the other reviews I’ve seen: Craig Hunter review
very interesting review showing the theoretical potential of the m1 ultra technology outpacing intel by far; plenty for the apps and MacOSx.xxes to come ...

"I suspect that the M1 Ultra in the Mac Studio is probably just the tip of the iceberg. We’ve got one last pro desktop on Intel hardware – the Mac Pro – and Apple has hinted its rebirth with Apple Silicon is imminent. Just think about what it means if the Mac Pro scales up performance from here. I’ll probably need to double that vertical axis again. That would be a good problem to have."

Wait a minute ... WWDC Keynote is on June 6 ... Do they ship our bto ultras late to not cannibalize them by an announced Mx Hyperfusion MacPro which just blows away what we´ve seen so far ?
The usual marketing suspects aren´t that bad, or are they ?
Anyway, software that makes use of unlimited cores will boost the ultras as well.

This is kind of nuts, but the Mac Studio (Max, base, configured with 64 gigs of ram and 1TB SSD) I ordered just a few days ago, and was slated to arrive July 8th, shipped overnight. It'll be here by Jun 8th, a full month early!

Scratch that, this Friday, May 27th! Ordered May 16th.

Crap, pending charge from Apple is now gone. "Thank you for your Patience"

Do you recall how many days your credit card transactions showed Apple's charge "pending" before it disappeared? Sounds like Apple sent you an e-mail ("Thank you for your Patience") when it dropped the charge. Is that correct?

Here's the latest with my Ultra 48, 64GB, 2TB (ordered March 21) - the reseller told me on 5.12 that it was scheduled to arrive in the following week and expected to ship it out to me by the 20th. I heard nothing. Emailed yesterday and they now say "apple" has now changed the date to late June. Not sure what I believe, but either way, I can't get any further information and it just sucks. My original estimated delivery date was the first week of June and now I guess I can't even count on that. But who knows? Meanwhile, back to beach balling during these edits...

I received "Thank you for your Patience" same time as other here did on May 19th. My credit card had a pending Apple charge starting on May 20th. The pending charge dropped today May 25th. 🤬

No update on my Studio, now sitting at Chek Lap Kok for 24hrs. Not unexpected.

Meanwhile, the Apple pending charge on my account has dropped off despite them having actually shipped my unit. I expect that will finally get charged "for reals" sometime soon.
Mine is sitting there too.

Ordered May 12th, Studio Max 10/32, 64GB, 8TB. Order still says processing and July 1-8, but card was just charged. I'd be excited except I don't think I'm going to have a screen to go with it, with all the delays on those :(
Got charged the 22nd & it has now moved to preparing to ship! I actually am now super excited even though I'll still have no screen for it. That says June 22, but on that thread it seems the delayed orders are now moving so hopefully I will get it soon rather than later, can't wait to use this

Given that you're at "Preparing to Ship" on May 25th, I think that you're likely to receive your Studio Max well before June 22nd let alone July 1-8. If you look at earlier posts, there are a good number of examples over the last couple of weeks that suggest that you may receive it around the end of next week :)

Pretty amazing if that happens, given that you didn't order until May 12th.

Oh I mean the screen says the 22nd - 1st, so yeah it seems I'm definitely getting the studio first. but hopefully screen will be June as well

For those in the know, how long do packages tend to sit around Hong Kong before leaving? My Mac Studio went from Shenzen to Hong Kong and that's the last update I see. UPS says delivery this Friday, but Apple says June 8th (originally the order said July 8th, but their shipping estimate now says June 8th).

Any idea?

I think the average has been 2-3 days? I think that's what it turned out to be when the group of Maxes went through there. But I think F-Train would know for certain, since he was undoubtedly paying closer attention that I was at the time.

FEIE your UPS and Apple estimates are about the same as mine, and we were making our best guesses as perhaps Tuesday-Wednesday night week, given also Memorial Day... But it remains to be seen how many days they actually sit around in HK. It might be less, it might be more.

I agree with what @Not@Apple says above about Hong Kong.

I suggest that you ignore what Apple says about delivery now that UPS has the package.

When Apple estimated June 8th, it also recommended that you go to UPS tracking for up-to-date information on delivery.

The history for the last couple of weeks is that Apple's delivery date is very conservative and that UPS is in charge of the real date. After all, UPS, not Apple, is making the delivery, has the order, and knows what is actually happening with the flights, made on the cargo airline that it owns and runs, that will deliver the package to where you live.

OMG! I ordered May 12 and it says "shipping to store."
Mac Studio Max: 10 cores, 32 GPU, 64gb ram and 2tb SSD
It still says that I'll have it by July 12. lol

@Pilou77 ordered for delivery to a store in the Paris area, but was able to get UPS tracking updates even though it was Apple shipping to Apple. If you haven't been offered this, but want it, maybe check out Pilou's posts on this from last week and give Apple a call.

Thank you! I was wondering if I can track. I should have chosen delivery to my house, but I'm scared with UPS. haha
