Many physical stores have immediate availability here in Italy. But online orders continue to lag behind. I don't understand how Apple is handling this phase.
Is this new? And is there any way to see if my local store has stock without going in?
I definitely do not see a list of stores with availability when going to the order page. I had always seen this list when buying previous Apple devices. But, for the Studio, it only shows it available in my local store on June 27th and the order delivery window. But, since my order delivery date window is June 17-25 I will just wait for it to show up at my door.As @yourmn says, this information is available on Apple's order page. There's a thread about availability in stores: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-be-available-for-pickup-on-march-18.2337388/
As you can see from that thread, for several weeks it was fairly easy to purchase a base Max from a U.S. store for immediate pickup. However, supply dried up during May. I just checked several US cities and it appears that all stores will have the Max available for pickup again by June 27th. Based on the history, I think that that is an outside date and that we may begin to see stores with stock before then, possibly quite soon.

Thanks. On the page titled "Choose Your Mac Studio", you click on your local store in the red box in this screen capture. It brings up a window showing availability at 12 stores in your area. You can also use that window to search anywhere in the country.
Right now, the stores that I checked are all showing June 27th, but I suspect that that will change as inventory is received.

Thanks.
It looks like all the stores in the SF Bay Area received stock, including the one 3 miles from me! I am going to head over this AM.
Noooooo! That must have sucked to endure! Glad you finally got the thing though... I'm also happy with my Ultra being very quiet, and the brief test I did with exporting a 4K clip in FCP took about half the time that it did on my 16GB M1 MBA. I didn't try to compare it to my Late 2015 iMac that the Ultra replaced.UPDATE: Mac Studio arrived today. (Ordered 3.21 / Ultra 48/64GB/2TB) through a reseller. Arrived at the US reseller last week and they sent it from Indiana to California via FedEx Ground...
Nice setupView attachment 2017546 UPDATE: Mac Studio arrived today. (Ordered 3.21 / Ultra 48/64GB/2TB) through a reseller. Arrived at the US reseller last week and they sent it from Indiana to California via FedEx Ground...so it crawled its way home. 81 day wait! So far, very much worth it. No fan noise. Took Migration Assistant about 2 hours to move everything from my late 2019 iMac. The Mac Studio is crushing things in Final Cut that used to really bog down my iMac.
Thanks to those of you still lingering - this forum helped keep me sane during the wait and was extremely informative. If for some sick reason you'd like to see what I do with mine, check out @mentalityfilms on IG or anything over at grayfamilyfilms.com. I'm still re-arranging my office, but here's a look at the main desk as of now.
I would prefer buying from Apple anyhow given the 14-day return policy with no questions asked. B&H probably won't refund your money if your unit has the fan whine.I configured a base Mac Studio Max with the 32 GPU core option and a 4 TB SSD on the Apple Education Store Web page. Estimated delivery (to Southern California) July 20 - 27. The same exact CTO configuration is available IN STOCK at B&H Photo Video.
I was told by an Apple rep that if I wanted the Edu discount and also wanted to pay for it with my Apple Card using the 12-month Monthly Installment option, I could only order it via the Web site or via doing the order inside a brick & mortar Apple Store. Having to wait 6 weeks vs. immediate gratification is torture!
UK based. I want a base Max but with 1TB drive. Apple are quoting almost 2 months delivery... Any clues that the supply chain is easing and it may well arrive earlier? The base 512GB model is in stock in many retailers.
Last Friday, I spoke with Apple. I was worried that my order would not make it for the 17th, the day that marks the end of my delivery window (June 3-17). I was told that my Ultra would move to "Preparing to ship" the same day, and my card will be charged. I was full of hope. Friday and Saturday, nothing happened. Today (I know that we are only halfway through the day, at least here in the US), it's still on "Processing." It's so disappointing!

Does anyone have a similar experience with Apple?
Hi all.

Alternatively... Any UK stores carry non stock models?
And lastly seems like the £4k Ultra sku is out of stock everywhere too... I don't need that power but if I saw one... Maybe? Any idea if John Lewis restock often etc?
I assume Apple’s estimates are a realistic guide to current supply status and I think you could treat it as ‘best available information’. If you need a particular specification, I personally would order it asap to get in the queue. Meantime, if one comes up at a retailer you can always cancel!
It is disappointing but it’s not hard to see the global factors that have created supply chain chaos for apple and everyone, including making delivery hard to predict.
I ordered possibly the same day as you (April 14 but in a UTC+12 Timezone) and with just one difference in spec (128 GB) Apple’s quoted window is more than a month later than yours (July 7-20).
When your apple rep said it would prepare to ship and be charged "the same day", what day was meant? From your description, did they mean the 17th? Whatever, I hope you see it soon.
When they say the same day, it was supposed to be last Friday.
My card was charged this morning, so some hope! Fingers crossed.
Yes, I will.I'm interested in when you receive the computer. With four days left in the window, and delays at Hong Kong airport, Friday is cutting it pretty fine, but very few deliveries (none that I can think of here recently) have missed the window.
Once your computer leaves Hong Kong, and assuming that you don't live out of the way, you're likely to receive it the next day.
