Got up at 5 AM to check my local Apple Store and reserved an Ultra Mac Studio to be picked up later today. I'll cancel my other April 6-13 Mac Studio delivery after I pick it up today.
That meant switching from a 2 TB to 1 TB SSD base model, but I was already 2nd guessing that part of my original order. It will have multiple external HDD's and SSD's anyway so it probably saved me a couple hundred bucks this way.
My 2010 Mac Pro will be reassigned from my main desk to doing Windows and other lighter duties after 12 years. Exciting, but sort of sad too seeing it move on toward eventual retirement.

Took a chance and was up and checked the apple store at 0800 EDT and low and behold, they had the max base AND the monitor available for pickup TODAY!!! My pickup time is 2:15-2:30 this afternoon. Wish me luck because I cancelled the delivery order which was estimated to deliver 1-8 April.
Same here - checked at 0500 PDT Apple Stores (8) had them in-stock so I cancelled my online orders.
Picking up today at Apple Store - many base Studio Mac Max (no more Ultra) and Display available (no nano + height) - all 8 Apple stores near me had them in stock.
My EDU price + M1 Mini trade in saved me $670 plus 3% Apple Cash back so not too shabby...
Anyone seeing orders with delivery dates of late March/early April being updated for earlier delivery? My Mac Studio and Studio Display aren't supposed to deliver until March30–April 7, but I'm hoping to get them sooner.
My delivery estimate is 29 March - 5 April and I’m hoping for exactly the same thing! I haven’t seen any movement yet. It’s still just on processing…
Same - at 0500 PDT there were many Ultra available at all 8 Apple stores near me.
Then I just checked 90 minutes later and almost all sold out!
Now I can only see 1 Ultra base found in Rancho Cucamonga (where I am picking up my Max base + Display today).
Wonder if the Apple stores got a limited amount of Ultra ?
The local stores still have the Max available!
Checked the order status this morning. No changes. Still Processing. Still at March 31 - April 7.
This morning - Friday March 18th - UPS tells me my Mac Studio is out for delivery. Changed plans to spend the day waiting for delivery.
Its weird my order placed minutes after keynote seems to be in purgatory. Originally had a date of March 18-21. Earlier in the week it was changed to 3 to 5 business days. They don't say 3 to 5 business days from when lol. I can't cancel my order and pickup one in store as my online order status is prepared for shipping as has been for about a week now.
As of a few minutes ago, the Apple Altamonte (FL-USA) store still has the base Studio Display (normal and nano coating) available for pickup with the tilt mount option. Other mount options not available. It also has the base Mac Studio with the Max or Ultra chip SoC available for pickup today as well.

You can refuse delivery or return it unopened to store. If you are in Europe, the tracking is a lot less granular than for the US customers. I have often only got updates when it lands in the EU and is en route to my local hub. That may have changed again since Brexit though
If you sign up for UPS My Choice (free) you can usually see the 2-hour delivery window for your package.
Checked my local Apple store today and just like that I have a base M1 Max Mac Studio ready for pickup! This means I'll be canceling my 1 TB upgrade estimated to deliver in April. I figure I have plenty of external storage lying around and I never filled the 512 GB on my M1 Mini. Pretty sweet savings too with the Education discount and trade-in on my Mini. Can't wait to get this computer!
