Has anyone had any problems with creating a bootable usb for beta 5. I keep getting "an error occurred while attempting to save a disk image". Already have beta 4 on three devices and am using the same 128gb usb for the install.

Can you upload your log? It'll be under the Window > Log menu of Catalina Patcher.

If you are using the APFS Boot Patch instead of the APFS ROM patch, try reinstalling the patches only from your patched Mojave 10.14.6 usb installer onto the Mojave drive. It may be that somehow both the Catalina and Mojave drives APFS Boot patch ended up placing their files on the same drive in its EFI partition.

Thank you, next time that loading Mojave hangs, I will try.

Strange also that the same keyboard Caps Lock + led works on Mojave and not on Catalina. Same for webcam audio (option missing on Control Panel -> Sound) and for someone here Maps is now working and Photo not (inverse for me) Importing working old Maps from Mojave couldn't be possible?

Hi, I was delighted to see the cMP3.1 is supported - Installed yesterday successfully but having a couple of issues. My resolution is stuck at 800x600, holding Alt while selecting Scaled in display properties does not show any other available resolutions. GPU fan is going at 100% all the time, even from boot.

My 3.1 has a ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB in it. Anyone else got this problem?

Thanks for all the hard work getting it to this point. I am very surprised to get this far and the system is performing well, apart from the graphics problem.

You'll need to upgrade your video card in order to get full graphics acceleration. As explained on the webpage:
  • AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5xxx and 6xxx series graphics acceleration: Currently, it is not possible to achieve full graphics acceleration under Catalina on any machines that use a Radeon HD 5xxx or 6xxx series GPU. If you have a machine with one of these GPUs installed, I'd advise upgrading it if possible (can be done in 2010/2011 iMacs, iMac11,x-12,x), disabling the dedicated GPU if using a 2011 15" or 17" MacBook Pro (MacBookPro8,2/8,3, instructions to do so can be found here), or not installing Catalina. Running Catalina without full graphics acceleration will result in extremely poor system performance.

Does anyone know how this would run on a late 2011 imac 3.1ghz, 16gb ram, with a amd radeon 6570m 256mb graphics card? Would like some advice on if i should run dosdude1 mojave patcher or go straight to catalina?

It will run like crap if you don’t replace your graphics card. The Radeon 5000-6000 series don’t support graphics acceleration under Mojave OR Catalina so you won’t have a worthwhile experience running either of them with your card.

@dosdude1 @ASentientBot Macmini mid 2010 (Macmini4,1) 100% on both CPU due to mdworker_shared (multiple instances) i'm leaving it running for 2 hours (70° C with 5500 RPM fans) to see if process are automatically terminated after file indexing.

[SOLVED] After 2 hours processes has been terminated and CPU and temperature is OK!

What is a good graphics car to run that is affordable for the mac pro 3.1?

Also do i have to install any other upgraded os's before attempting to install catalina (wine mixer)

The cheapest route and most compatible route is to purchase an EVGA-branded GTX680 2GB model on eBay and then flash it with the Mac rom image from within bootcamp Windows 10 or a BootCD custom disk. I used the latter approach.

i would like to know but is the 2011 mac pro supported with the patcher or not?

you mean 2011 Macbook Pro ?
15" and 17" are supported, but their AMD graphic cards are not.
you must disable them, you can use several ways these days.
These machines only run on their on their integraded HD3000 graphics card, with acceleration when used patches.

the 13" 2011 Macbook Pro only has the Intel HD3000 graphics card, and should run fine with the patches..
